Doing 25+ dmg isn’t that rare. It’s probably the most difficult deck to play but damn…
It’s the uncontested #1 deck for weeks and that won’t change anytime soon.
“I tried to play it as bad as possible and still win to make the devs notice”, something along those lines. D;
(<3 Reynad) The damage, the card draw, it’s just a great deck in general.
(I love patron warrior, so many people try it and fail horribly… ez win, ez life)
This game has a history of 1turn kos being nerfed, its bad in a game where there no interaction with your opponents hand. Miracle stalled, drew its whole deck, and ohkod. Oil rogue kills you over multiple turns. Leeroy shadowstep killed you in 1. Grim patron kills you in multiple. Frothing kills you in 1.
It’s going to get changed for the same reason all the others have, there’s no counterplay.
It may happen, but I doubt soon it took a long time for Leroy and gadzastan to be nerfed.
As for rogue a real easy combo, arcane golem, cold blood, cold blood, faceless. 24 damage. If you have 2 shadowsteps and 2 preparations you can kill. Arcane golem, preparation, cold blood, preparation cold blood, faceless, shadowstep, arcane golem, shadowstep arcane golem. 32 damage.
Now with tinker oil, I’m sure there are many possibilies with weapon, tinker oil X2, deadly poison X2, blade flurry. etc. There are probably many other rare 1 turn ko combos that are possible (Priest inner fire, divine spirit shenanigans, etc). So the important thing is how often it happens? If it is extremely common like leroy, gadzastan was…then it may get nerfed eventually. However if not, I doubt it.
Remember that even with old warsong commander, frothing combo was possible. Cause frothing is played from hand. There was no complaint. However now with warsong change and how it interacts with Grim patron it has made enrage combo warrior a viable option and frothing fits in very nicely.
The difference is, only Frothing/Patron punishes you for actively having a board and trying to kill them, while those PO/faceless builds need you to have a no taunt board
I don’t think they’ll do it to thaurrisan since he is used by many other classes/decks. Battle rage is warrior only so I can see something happening to that, maybe.
Got my first rage mail in a long long time today. Beat a control warrior with my patron warrior, super close match. They made at least 1 misplay that I noticed that cost an extra 2 damage to his face, which may have cost the match for him. Got exactly lethal with 1 card left in my deck.
Figured he was going to say gg since it was so close… But no. Just that my deck was garbage.
Started playing this last night because i hadnt played magic in a few weeks, and its fairly fun. A little simple at the start but some lf the cards seem neat.
The card pool is way too small and there is room for a bunch of new mechanics also blizard can keep trying to remove infinit combos or istant win combos but eventually as the card pool gets larger and larger they will not be able to stop them all. I think im gonna nab a few packs before jumping into ranked. Are there lots of newbs at the lower ranks? Or am i gonna run into tier 1 decks right off the bat?
Dont you need decent cards to beat the adventure? Like the starter cards dont have that late game oumph hell even the midgame is hella ass vanilla creatures dont seem very good.
A lot of the heroic adventures were done with f2p decks (aka basic / hero on lvl10).
So it may take a bit longer but it’s doable for sure and has guaranteed powerhouse cards.
Loatheb, Sludge Belcher, Daaaaah, Mad Scientist, Haunted Creeper etc. You really want those.
Naxxramas should be your 1st goal for sure.
HS is just a classic Blizz game. Easy to learn, hard to master.
Adventures can be beat using basic cards, hell theres a guy who beat all the heroics (which give nothing more than cardbacks) using only basic cards. The best bang for your buck is Naxx. BRM has some solid cards, but Naxx has so many staples you really need it.
Speaking of misplays, had a really close match with rogue vs rogue, I was able to use Loatheb for a clutch turn, then he used backstab on t, cositng 5 mana, paused, and was like “Mistakes were made.”
Topdecked SI agent, with tinkers oil led to exact lethal on my turn. Was a really good game actually.
to be honest, do all of Naxx, then the first wing of BRM (so you can get a Grim Patron, the legendary card Emperor Thaurrisian, and two pretty good class reward cards)…the rest of BRM is hit or miss.
Well the only incentive is to get to play as both ragnaros and nefarian. I really enjoyed it though, the crazy OP Nefarian deck was a blast. Fuck balance and mana value, just insane cards one after another and awesome hero powers. Love it, and am looking forward to future brawls.
