What does your deck look like? It might be a bit too combo heavy. I used to run 2 Taskmasters and Inner Rages each, and have taken all but a Task out in favour of more draw as I was too reliant on the combo.
Nowadays, I tend to Mulligan pretty damn hard for Thaurissan if I think the matchup won’t be Aggro. Otherwise aiming for Taskmaster (Hunter), Armorsmith, Loot Hoarders and weapons.
Also, don’t be afraid to Grim Patron early if you have board and/or can put another one or two up, especially if you have other threats in the deck (mine has Boom, Rag, Frothing). If you have say, an Acolyte/Armorsmith up by turn 4 and you have used one charge of Death’s Bite, you can summon Patron and use him even without charge. Then on turn 6 you can follow up with the Warsong and Whirlwind, etc.
I sometimes do this even on an empty board, though it depends on class. Mages that have already used Frostbolt(s)/Flamecannon(s) but before 7 mana, Druids, Shamans, Warriors, Paladins, Hunter. Not against Rogue (Poison + Flurry), Warlock (Hellfire/Shadowflame), Priest (Shadow Madness too stronk).
Even without the Charge effect, if you don’t have a board clear, you can dictate trades…
the way i’ve been playing it, is to save grim for when u can give him charge and damage, obviously. You can soak up a lot of damage before finally busting shit out. If you want, I can play a few games against ya with both my grim and control warrior deck (which is basically a cracked up version lol)
Blingitron seems like too much of a risk, unless your opponent already has a real good weapon equipped like Death bite or Truesilver, then you can get a weapon and hopefully he gets a lesser weapon. However almost certainly your position can improve.
I was facing a mage who was dominating the match and certainly would have won, but then dropped blingitron. (I was a rogue by the way with just the hero power weapon equipped). Well my opponent got a hammer of justice, and I got a gorehowl. Deadly poison, deadly poison…well I stole a match and won when I shouldn’t have.
Yeah I needed a good 2 drop, and once I lost muster, I squeezed faerie dragons in there : ) Late game they can work as enablers, early game they are stronger vs some of the control classes (like Priest, mage, somelocks) who rely on spell removal. Really I am considering replacing them with pyromancers just for the equality clears. I think maybe it’d be worth squeezing sunfury protectors to really buff up my dragons and force huntres to deal with them, but they’re not good to drop naked on turn 2;
Been rocking this lately, still feel as though some minor shit is missing, but can’t figure out what to take out or put in. Still need Baron Geddon and Ragnaros at some point, but whatever…
Id like to have Warsong Commander back in, but aside from Grim Patron’s, I wasn’t really feeling justified using it in the deck…
you’d be amazed how often the annoy’s have saved my ass lol, but I’ll give it a test.
Most deck’s I’ve faced I’ve had to play smart at the beginning, and basically just rely on taunts, armor, taking a beating, weapons, and sacrificing minions (throw out something I know will get polymorphed or worse). Mid game, I start attempting and setting up combos, and clearing the board of whatever tickles my fancy. End game is usually me just laying down legends every turn lol.
I don’t really do much damage for most of the game, then Alex comes out and you’re down to 15 health and forced to deal with an 8/8.
Only really faced two decks that made me actually worry, or lose. A dragon pally deck that basically was loaded with good legs (his draws at the end of the game were unnatural), and some mage decks just wreck me. Everything I throw down gets killed in a turn, or polymorphed
The problem with Annoy in the deck is that it doesn’t hurt anything, and it doesn’t draw you a card. There are 2 reason unstable ghoul works in the deck:
1)aoe synergy with acolyte, frothing, and patron. It creates threats or draws you cards.
2)anti face hunter, but really warriors don’t need help in that department.
Annoy just seems like it doesn’t add as much as a second smith/taskmaster/patron would provide. Just my thoughts, I could be dead wrong.
I put annoys in there as legit defence against big threats. Enemies are forced to deal with them by either taking two turns of attacking with a single mob, or forcing the opponent to drop 1 or more cards (and a minion) to get rid of it. It also keeps my legends and frothing berserkers safe. I eat a lot of damage early on, and they help mitigate that somewhat, and keep some of my combo creatures safe, as I stated earlier.
I didn’t have them in the deck originally, but was losing a lot and had no real answer to early big damage creatures.
if anything, i need to find something to take out to add one or two warsong commanders.
