Hearthstone - That other, other, other Blizzard game

made a variant of that deck I posted a few posts back…

missing a Shield Slam, and need to complete the Warrior Class Challenge to get two Death’s Bite cards.

I was missing 5 of the legs (Sylvanas Windrunner, Harrison Jones, Baron Geddon, Ragnaros, Dr Boom), and although some of them are somewhat required in my deck, I made due with other legs I had, and still ended up kicking a lot of ass with the deck.

Threw Commanding Shout in, in place of the missing Shield Slam, and it ended up paying off for me a couple of times.

Thanks, I’ll hold off on Commanding Shout for now as I tinker with this deck a bit more. Speaking of which, I played someone who kept saying “My thanks” after I Executed his Molten and Ysera and then dropped Belcher and Loatheb before dropping Kel’Thuzad and a Token Guy.

Basically, don’t act cocky when you choosingly leave Thaurissan on board for two turns.

Shield slam is kinda important in control warrior. You’d be spamming that hero power and shield block anyways. Helps you save that execute for something more important later on

I like commanding shout. Like Jacob said, at worst it’s a 2 mana card draw. There’s so much stuff you can combo with it to maximize your card draws though. It can even win you games, but you don’t necessarily have to have it to win. Helps you cycle though the deck faster so you can get your combo

Oh I know it’s important. I am only missing one, not a complete tragedy. I’m personally. More worried about missing some of the legs.

You should. Not everybody can play control warrior, cause it’s so Damn expensive. I was lucky to pull a golden grommash way back. That and Alexstraza will win you a lot of games. I still don’t have rag

I know it’s expensive. But I literally had every card for it, minus one easy to obtain epic card (which according to the decks creator, is replaceable if ur missing one), and a few legs that are also easily replaceable. My buddy said the exact same thing (deck is too expensive) until I showed him the cards I had received from packs.

Only cards I feel I need right away for the deck is Dr Boom and Ragnaros and Baron Gedden. The other legs are either situational (Harrison Jones) or somewhat replaceable (threw in Loatheb and faceless manipulator to replace sylvannas and baron).

I really had too much of the deck to not bother trying to put it together.

I almost have enough dust to craft another leg… Probably gonna make Dr Boom considering his use in virtually all decks, but might do Ragnar instead. I personally feel I can hold off on crafting a second shield slam for now. I’d also like another Brawl.

If you don’t have grommash, alex, sylvanas, baron geddon, boom and rag then your control warrior is not control enough, and none of those have valid substitutes

Sure it may win games at high rankings, but its not what we call control warrior, more midgame warrior

Also I’d suggest against 2 brawls in a deck, but it is a way to go because people don’t expect the second brawl

lol I’m fine with that.

I have Grommash and Alex, and almost enough for another Legendary. Faceless Manipulator is a good alternative to sylvanas until I can craft her, Boom or Rag will be mine very soon, then I would just need the other.

I see no reason to not attempt to build this deck gradually, considering how close I am, hence my point. Hell, I might just buy a big ass chunk of packs in the next few days, just so I can disenchant some garbage/gold and make another leg or two.

Faceless and sylvanas aren’t replacements, they serve different roles. I’m interested in your decklist

Also, control warrior is the most expensive, and currently one of the not so popular, decks. Its just not that good anymore. Its the worst deck to go after out of the gate; expensive, bad matchups, and its slow for ladder grinding

And most of the legs aren’t run in other decks

when you say decklist, do u mean my total available cards, or the control deck i am using now?

I understand the deck isnt the best deck out of the gate, but i have most of what i need for it now, and its doing the job. Sure, i’ll probably move on eventually, but at least it gives me a goal while I learn the ins and outs of the game.

i think this is what you were asking for?

like i said, missing just a few cards…commanding shout replaces the shield slam I am missing, arcanite reaper is a placeholder until I unlock Death’s Bite, subbed the missing legs I have for other useful legs I have. It ain’t the best, but it’s definitely the best deck I have right now.

edit: doesn’t show em, but hellscream and alex are in deck

I would seriously recommend the grim patron combo warrior variations because you more or less have the cards for it. It’s majority adventure cards and very cheap to craft commons and rares.

and it’s easily one of the most fun decks out there and conveniently does well against aggro/zoo. That link with the deck I posted earlier was surprisingly consistent, it seriously does feel like Miracle Rogue all over again.

oh yeah my buddy came by and i put together a shitty grim deck, and clobbered a lot of stuff and am about to finish noxx right now lol

Grim is gonna get nerfed, guaranteed. 3/2 or something probably.

I’m not sure Grim Patron needs a nerf. There is counterplay, it is a combo and card draw reliant deck, and it requires skill to use.

Compare Grim Patron to druids bullshit 14 damage combo with nothing on the board, and considering Warrior has never been the #1 class, I think nerfs are uncalled for at this stage.

Of course, I play pally, and between my Truesilver, taunts, and equality, I have a bunch of stuff to deal with Patron, so maybe I’m biased.

No it won’t, 3/2 makes it dumb. At 5 Mana its expensive too lol. Its fine as is

Grim patron has been mostly something to scare my opponents into dealing with immediately after clearing their board or doing a shit load of damage before the true hero, Frothing zerker comes out of nowhere with a billion damage the turn after.

Either win condition is fun as fuck to use though. I doubt they’ll nerf grim patron and more likely nerf Thaurissan, but not anytime soon.

I have an easy time playing against Paladins using a Grim Patron deck.

Yeah, Grim Patron is the smokescreen and the support. Frothing is the real win condition. When people realize that the Patron matchup won’t seem so overwhelming to them.

on that note, i pulled a Windrunner in a pack last night, and crafted Dr Boom.

edit: my buddy lost his mind when I pulled windrunner, says I’m the luckiest fuck in the world.

@Darkstalker Commanding Shout is really good if you are planning to have Grim Patron in your deck. Grim Patron+ Commanding Shout+WarSong Commander …

Followed by Battle Rage…

I’ve changed my Warrior deck to this one except I traded 1 Slam for a Commanding Shout. Went rank 20–>14 so far since last night.
