Fun fact: If you cast Betrayal on a Emperor Cobra (or a Patient Assassin that is somehow not dead), its poison damage will kill whatever minions are next to it, no matter what their health is.
Compared to every other neutral + Rogue epic, I would pick Unpatient Assassin over all of them, except for Faceless Manipulator. UA has the luxury of being able to trade up at will, or making your opponent waste a precious board clear on a 2-drop to save their big guy.
Iāve been running into an interesting new metagame in constructed.
Iām going to call these decks āgiant decksā becauseā¦well they are based around giants.
Players are holding cards until they can play giants for free (or close to free)āiām talking 2 sometimes 3 giants. Then on top of that a taunt character like defender of aurgas. GG.
I think this could actually be a REAL thing. Only seen it in casual, but I think clunky removal spells will be essential if people go BIG.
Thatās pretty old afaik, Iāve run into a bunch Warlocks (Mages at times too) running either 2 Molten, 2 Mountains or both, some of them also run Twilight Drakes but itās not that popular. Pretty annoying to lose to people who donāt do anything for the first 3 turns but I guess there is strategy to that too.
Warlock Giant deck is a interesting one. As long as you have the means to take out four big targets, thereās no way to lose. If not, then youāre going to have a bad time if they can draw faster than your burn.
Just went 12 in arena as Mage with one Cone of Cold as my only Aoe spell, pretty crazy class.
Iāve had a few mage decks that were really awesome with little to no staple board spells. Kinda went beatdown/agro and was super effective. The mage hero ability is so versatile, you can trade up with bigger creatures with ease and even just pick off a smaller minion when needed.
thats funny that the giant decks have been around for a whileāi literally have not seen ONE of those decks until today; and Iāve seen 4 today!
been enjoying priest even though my cards suck
flaw#1505 add me for games
Dang, what 5s did you draft? Iām guessing like 2 Assassinās Blades, 2 Assassinates, some Spiteful Smiths, Venture Co. Mercenaries, and Azure Drakes? Hereās hoping that you live through the early game.
Spot on. I still managed to get a decent amount of stuff to go through early game against most classes so I think Iāll do decent, afraid of Mages if anything.
I just got āgiantedā in arenaā¦fucking guy was at 9 lifeā¦I was at 20 somethingā¦he dropped a giant, blocker, raid leader, wolfā¦next turn he dropped a stomrwindā¦
I HATE MY LIFE. Thats the way it goes sometimes.
EDIT: can we get a player update on the front page?
9 Damage Assassins Bladeā¦ Think Iāll be playing with Spiteful Smith in constructed from now on.
Edit: Assassinated 3 turns in a row followed with Headcrack, made the Priest rage quit.
Iāve added everyone whoās shared their battletag in the thread. Spiteful Smith is pretty boss in constructed, since he stacks nicely with Deadly Poison, as well as giving you a little bit of reach in the late game.
k cool.
Just rolled a mage and went 3-3. Weak draft but I thought I got some solid commons/uncommons. Even then my deck just got outclassed.
Now Iām going warriorā¦wheres the 1-2 drops draft!!! YEeeeesh.
the New Unleash the Hounds is pretty retarded, can see it plaguing the lower and mid spectrum of the ladder.
Iām going to make that shit plague the whole goddamn ladder.
Just did the ultimate fuck you play in arena.
This shaman taunted me from the beginning mashing on threaten and the whole match, we traded blows and then we ended with him with full field of minions with me having nothing.
2 hp on his end, 8 hp on mines.
He had 4 or so cards in hand I had 1, happened to be the perdition blade so I just needed to draw a card to finish him off.
I drewā¦ a eviscerate. I thought oh ok, but then evil thoughts rushed to my mind.
I used eviscerate on a minion. Waited a good 5-10 seconds. Me - āmistakes were madeā
He mashed on well played and taunts for a good 10 seconds afterwards. Then right before my turn ended I threw down perdition blade and hit his face for 2, finishing him off.
"THE ELEMENTS WILL DESTROY YOU"
If youāre annoyed by opponents just squelch them dude.
The only time Iāve super trolled somone (I spam emotes often, but you can just squelch that so it doesnāt count) this guy was spamming emotes at me, trying to troll super hard, then when I had lethal on board and he had nothing, he idled until the fuse was almost out before ending his turn,
I figured if he was going to try and troll me with the AFK/timeout strat then he deserved to die an honorable death.
So I hit him down to 1, and let him draw himself to death. I had board + cards over him (he had nothing on board with like 4 cards left) while I had 5 in my hand and 2 in my deck (with two giant fatties, a harvest golem and a cleric on the field).
I had someone RQ against me in arena like turn 5, I was super confused because I didnāt think I was that far ahead, only like two cards.
When grinding dailies in casual Iāll throw down a concession turns 2 3 or 4 if I feel like Iāve got no shot (gotta get them wins, no point playing back from like 5 cards down with no good sweepers to bring it back), but not arena.
Also, I got my 3rd hound pack today (had one when it went to 4 cost and I turned it to dust, Iāll def turn the 2 I picked up into big time dust when the patch drops)
These doggies got me quite a bit of dust I must say.
Iām never annoyed by the emotes lol. They crack me up 100% of the time, especially the players that are so edgy about it. I was dying from laughter from that one arena match.
For reference I come from a gameā¦ with this
