RESURRECT!!! Im in the market for a tv. Im looking to spend 1200 to 1500, hopefully for something that does 1080p but I could settle for 720p. 46" or higher if possible, with no lag cause i play the shit out of some Rock Band. Im also getting a 20 percent discount soon because i work at wal-mart. BUT, im fairly certain most walmart tvs are shit.
Can you play the record once again please ?
well… to a … considerable # of post above, the difference between a 120hz tv and 60hz tv is that it makes image looks so much more lively.
There is a smoother transition between each frame and I certainly enjoy it while I watch movie on it (even though that TV belong to my suite mate… but … w/e, what’s yours is mine, whats mine is still mine :P)
go to frys and other TV store, and ask them to put in a blue ray movie into the player and you will notice the difference between 120hz and 60hz almost instantly, and to be true, 120hz was so good that I felt its unreal the first time when I see it.
I know generally people don’t like Samsung TVs around here, but I don’t want to spend a huge amount of money nor do I want a really huge screen. How would you guys rate this HDTV?
so what response time is consider good for fighting game?? 8 ms and below? 6ms? 5 ms???
A lot of your PC gaming friends don’t know crap about response time and screen lag at all.
The ‘ms’ is the refresh rate. On a CRT monitor bad refresh rates would cause flicker. On LCDs typically you get motion blur on screens with a high MS. It really doesn’t have much to do with input lag.
There is a thread about it on this boards somewhere, find it. Input lag is typically introduced by up or down scaling, but there are other factors.
My mistake in that case. I’m not going to try and defend my friends, but I might have misquoted and delivered wrong information from what they tried to teach me. I just read through the HDTV FAQ from the Essentials topic. Thanks for that. Should’ve read through it first before coming here though. Post deleted.
Okay I’m looking to get a new TV on Black Friday mostly to play PS3 on hopefully for under $1,000. Does anyone have any suggestion by name like an actual model of TV not a company or a resolution but an actual model of HDTV that work well for you with your games.
