HDR Wiki

If you know stage speed in DC/HDR is constant (and we do, by comparing the time on different stages by sitting there), then you can push characters from 1 side to the other (using Dhalsim for max slowness) and if you make it across the screen in the same time, then that means the stages have identical lengths. I don’t recall testing stage length so I’m assuming this is what Rufus saw?

As for T.Akiba’s tests, perhaps you missed my explanation of the results: http://www.shoryuken.com/showthread.php?t=97281&p=8519708&viewfull=1#post8519708

If the stages are indeed the same size in HDR, then I wonder whether stages have been stretched/squeezed. I’m also curious if the DC version operates the same manner (we know the stage time is the same but what about stage length?). From the link I mentioned, when you screen capture the backgrounds and connect them together, the arcade version’s backgrounds are certainly of varying lengths.

Wow. Chun is 11th on the tear list? I figured she’d be at least top 8.

But then again, I’ve only played HDR like… twice… Judging by ST mostly.

Nominating Tear list for Best Typo of 2010!

Tear List:

Top tear:
Chun Li mains
T. Hawk mains
People who hate Ryu’s fake fireball

High tear:
People who don’t main E. Honda and hate him anyway
ST players who can’t stand HDR.

Mid tear:
Fei Long mains (was top tear, dropped to mid by Aqua Snake)

Low tear:
SF4 players playing HDR and complaining about damage, dizzy, game speed, reversal timing, etc. etc.

Bottom tear:
Average online scrub after you beat them.

All subject to interpretation.

Upper God Tier:
Guile Players.

I put some work into the Dee Jay page. I was working on the ST Dee Jay page anyway. Might as well do some more on the HDR!

Good stuff Murderbydeath. If I wasn’t so hooked on playing HDR, I’d probably do more with the Wiki. LOL

Well my request never got anywhere. Annoying. :frowning:

Same with that other guy’s SF guide. I’ve LOVE for there to be a good source of information on HDR other than trawling SRK forum threads. :-/

Okay, added a SHIT LOAD of stuff to the Hawk section. Check it out.

Holy crap Jiggly!! Really good stuff! You just pulled a no-escape, corner Typhoon loop on the Wiki. It needs to be cleaned up a bit, and I hope you’re gonna be adding matchup strats for vs Fei, Dictator, Cammy, etc., but other than that, it looks good. Hawk is in 'da house!

Don’t mean to sound rude, but someone else can clean it up. Im exhausted. LOL

Wish I could help… :frowning:

Added hitstun/blockstun data, hitbox videos, external links and eventhubs tier ranking.

BTW: The projectile recovery is based on prior normal for Chun Li as well as Ryu and Sagat. Since everyone else except Akuma has fixed projectile recovery, and his was that way too, recovery based on prior normal is probably the default.

Wow, really? Are you absolutely positive though? Cuz I thought the prior normal recovery only affected those with 2 types of fireballs, where Chun Li only has 1 type. If so, I’ll update the Wiki to reflect this.

Edit: Does anybody have the link to fatboy’s blog? I wanna put it in the external links section, but I seem to have lost it, and google doesn’t give me anything. It’s the one on curry allergy and has the famous pic of Dhalsim “dominating” Chun Li. You know what I’m talking about. LOL

Also, does anybody know who runs this site: super-turbo.net? I just need a name or a nick in order to give credit in the external links section. The site itself doesn’t seem to credit anyone. Maybe Axel Kelly? IDK, thanks. = J

Fatboy’s blog - he hasn’t posted in a while.

I’m pretty sure about the Chun fireball thing, but she recovers more quickly if the previous normal is stronger.

Thanks for the link. Yeah, it’s pretty old, but fatboy has some good stuff in there that would be helpful to Dhalsim players, and it’s still relevant today, which is why I wanna add it to the Wiki.

According to NKI’s translation of Akiba’s data, you are correct sir. This is new to me, I always thought all charge fireballs are not affected by prior normals.

"- The recovery time of the Kikouken is determined by the normal that was done just before the Kikouken. In other words, you can shorten the length of the Kikouken?s recovery time by kara canceling a Jab or Short. This was corrected in AE. "

Since HDR is DC, we can assume that this was not corrected. And according to the data, Chun Li recovers faster with Fierce than with Jab:

Kikoken
Jab?6?43
Strong?6?41
Fierce?6?39

So shouldn’t that statement say “you can shorten the length of the Kikouken?s recovery time by kara canceling a Fierce or Roundhouse”? Prolly just a typo, but it would be nice to be sure before it goes up in the Wiki. I also checked the ST Wiki and didn’t see anything in there about Chun’s Kikoken recovery being affected by prior normals.

It is ran by Axel.

Cool, thanks evoanon. :china:

The Chun Li page was looking pretty barren, so I went ahead and put in all her moves, along with links to Rufus’s frame images for them and my thoughts on them. It still needs everything else, though.

EDIT: I also added match up advice for Ryu, Ken, E. Honda, Blanka, Zangief, Guile, Dhalsim, T. Hawk, Cammy, Fei Long, and Dee Jay. It still needs Balrog, Vega, Sagat, and M. Bison. Someone could probably do a better job with the match up advice than I did, too.
