What is this? Some sorta tournament or what?
Hey everyone. I’ve been busy at work the last couple of days. Good to see that some of the regulars (T3R, MisterEgoTrip, Bitzfu) are showing interest. Yes Blitz, I want to make this a tournament. As soon as I have 32 confirmed players, I will make a bracket. If everything goes as planned, we should have a 64-person tournament that will start Friday, May 15th. There are so many good people who want to participate but who aren’t always available (e.g. DBostick, rgbUNKNOWN) and I want to accomodate everyone, which is why this tournament will last for an entire week. That’s the downside of having an online tournament, but it’s been done before. I’d love it if we could have a tournament Syxx style where all motches happen on the same night, but I can assure you at least 25% of the people on the old-timers list won’t be able to make it. Since this is a reunion tournament, we can try to do things differently.
Sounds cool, it’d be kinda like Evo except it’d be longer than three days. It’s more than appreciated from myself because I wouldn’t be able to make the usual Friday or Saturday evening time slot; that usually occurs when people set up online tourneys here.
If it had to be 12am pacific / 3am Eastern, I’d still be down. 
just set up a large bracket and have people play eachother over the course of a week or so

The good thing is, the PSN chat feature makes things a lot easier so we don’t need the online perverts’ hunting tool a.k.a mIRC to communicate with participants. Good to see you NerdoYoshua. I remember when we played that one night after the SRK tournament, and I commented about how aggressive your rog was and you said: “I play straight autistic, son!” LOL I felt like I was playing Dave Chappelle.

I remember a thread started back, I think from dbostick, who initially wanted to start a PSN SRK chat text room but then decided against it since it could hinder gameplay or even produce further lag. That’s why we went with mIRC for a tourney set up last time.
mIRC is where I got my first online crush (Sweedish Princess who then turned out to be a Nigerian Prince). The problem I have with mIRC is that people have to download and install it, which means they also have to have a computer for when they need to play. Lotsa people had a problem with that arrangement and I didn’t want to exclude anyone because of that. The new PSN chat feature is great and causes no lag when playing HDR. We’ve tested it a few times and no complaints whatsoever so far.
I can confirm this. I’ve used it a few times on HDR and no problems.
last night room was full and everyone was on chat as well.
room was stable.
hope we can get this thing going soon.
meantime I’ll be training my ass off to get my game up so I can hopefully compete with yall. :bgrin:
