It’s not that I’m afraid of doing a cammy mirror. I just think that match is super gross. There is always a chance that even a far weaker player can win that match. Rather I decided to go with my terciary for the match-up to do just a fine job. I should have gone dudley in GFs I forgot and just decided to end it quick. We can do a cammy mirror MM if you want, if there is one it’ll be FT5. Random can get a couple of matches which is why I don’t risk it but in a FT5 the better player will win 90%+ of the time. I am actually quite good at the match seeing as how I play it alot. Also I didn’t want to hear bitching about cammy this and cammy that seeing as there would have been 2 cammys in grand finals if I did.
So I’m not scared but being apart of team northwest exposure I had to live up to my name and expose your cammy, quite easily might I add.

It is looking the work on my end was worth it, now I just have to figure out the Black Ops fail and rally from it.
Based on early talks with the Trail Blazers, it looks like there will be another one in mid to late March, maybe early April.
Def want SF at it.
Will prob either leave Smash behind at it or just accept a 20-30 person turn out for it.
Will work on Madden11 and NBA2K11.
I am shooting to make this a Trail Blazer staple event every 30-60 days during the NBA Season.
Wont always have SSF4 at it, but should have it more often then not (not an always because I dont know if people would travel every 30-60 days for it… maybe though?)

What did not work.
The date. Its the Christmas month and also the winter break month so a lot of people who could have made it were probably out of town.
The Pricing. I think the site had a bit to do with the problem, but it was a bit puzzling from looking at the site to figure it out. But I understand the difficulty of how everything broke down. Try to discuss with the TBzers about being able to change the verbage to help make it easier for people to understand.
Black Ops: Assholes.
The timing. The blazer ticket thing was a nice perk, the only difficulty was, essentially, running a tournament in a short amount of time.
I think for the next event, a stronger schedule needs to be put in place.
Also the layout was very wonky. Just because of the venue size it made it seem like it was way bigger than it needed to be.
What Worked:
Black Ops not showing up, gave us 4 more setups haha.
People showing up. People showed up. It was good.
HYPE! A lot of hype for the games that were played. Crazy cole comebacks, Xeris blasting people, our highly sleepy 5v5 match.
I think if you did it every 60 days, people would be more willing to travel, then again I travel to seattle like…every 30 days, and with AE on the horizon, it could be more now.
Also Madded 11 and NBA2K11 streaming will be CAKEEEEEEE

Honestly this was a great idea and all but for the amount of seattle people we had and the money thrown down for a venue fee that included tickets we couldn’t use. I figure we should just hold something in Seattle. I was at first wondering why the payouts for singles were so low until I thought about where each part of the $30 went with the entry fee. I’m not going to complain about the payout but I KNOW that if one of alot of the people who had potetial to do it won there would be alot of bitchin about it.
For the entry fee I say we just have a $30 tournamnet High Stakes Tournament in Seattle. This will get people in the training room and will have a very high sodium aftertaste to all the losers. It would also provide more legitimate braggin rights as it is a high stakes tournament. Think with 30$ entry fee and 30 people in a 70/20/10 payout 1st gets $630. I bet we won’t be seeing any Cole dee-jay or KK seth with that on the line.
^ Carlos next time I get on live for a serious session, which prob wont be till january, I would like to run 5 FT5’s against your 5 characters it would give me with some character specific match up help. YOMP

That’s what’s up. I’d enter, not that Seattle would pull 30 heads at that price…but your point stands. More tournaments like this would really need something big to incite players to come out, otherwise, as Carlos points out, we might as well just have our own tournament. Anyways.
Some explanations:
Pricing - This got jacked all around, esp the last 72 hrs as TB Marketing finally (after being asked 60 days prior) got involved and made what was already sort of confusing (I guess) even more so.
The reason for one number ($30) was that I could not charge a multi-tiered entry fee. When working with companies and using words like sponsor and vendor, they (in this case TB) needs to see one number as the $$ amount.
So I hate to say it, then next one will be sort of the same, but could be explained easier by just making it $X.xx for the entire Event and you enter as many tournaments as you want.
Pay Outs - With some marketing and legal terms in the works and some sort of smoothed out with TB, it should make getting cash sponsors easier which means Entry Fee != Prize Pool. So # of entries will not factor into it. Venue Fee cut will not factor into it.
So if, as a business, I can get it to a point where we have guaranteed prizes from day 1 to promote, I think it can work out better.
Christmas Weekish - I sort o think this works in our favour as people are home would not be, some people have more time, etc… from a GameClucks standpoint, last half of December are some of the biggest sales weeks we have. Also the date of the event is decided in large part by TB.
Future Dates for Portland - Dates are TB dependant… if no game, its not a good date.

What about a Sat/Sun event with the game on Sat night??
Tournament on Saturday from Noon - 6:30pm and Sunday Noon - 5ish PM
Game on Sat night (usually 7pm - 10pmish) so people can go??
