Who’s the dude on the stream that was bashing HDR? I don’t think I’ve ever heard a more nasally voice… His voice alone was enough to ruin the stream. I had to mute.
Filipchamp i think.
Yeah that was fchamp. Gotta love the hatemail from no prisoner. Lol
Just a suggestion for next time Vestax and iplaywinner: get a commentator for HDR that actually *likes *the game and is not gonna hate on it. LOL “This game is so old.” Isn’t filipinochamp too much of a scrub to be playing HDR? Just thinking out loud. LOL
Don’t mind the hate on HDR but it was kinda dumb to hear him talking shit about the people that had the balls to actually play.
LOL. The nasally voice fruitcake just rage quit… All that shit talk and then he gets beaten down by a mediocre guile and then rage quits. Filipino Champ is it?
Hey guys, I apologize. Filipino Champ does not represent IPW and he admits it himself, his shit talking is just fun and games. He knows he’s a scrub at HDR. He’s a high level SF4 player that was invited by haunts. It’s not often he’ll be on. Next week, we’ll try to get more commentating. We have 1up’s Richard Li to join us as well as some other local cats who will try to make it, eltwopee, djreign, fudd, ilikemacaroni, a-rival, 1hitparry. One day we’ll try to get John Choi out here as well. Thanks for watching guys. Appreciate it. GG’s Shari.
GGs was fun.
Post whenever the recording is up i wanna rewatch it and hear the commentary i heard something about a being beaten by a pokemon :d
I choose you sharizord!
Shit talking is one thing, I don’t mind that. But hating on a game is something else entirely. I’m sure filipino champ wouldn’t like it if I was commentating on SF4 and started talking about how it’s a game only for scrubs.
All that aside, it was a great stream Vestax. Many thanks to iplaywinner and every one else for putting in the effort. I’m definitely a fan! :looney: Looking forward to the next one. Thanks again.
Well yeah shittalk is one thing but just bashing on newbies that while knowing they aren’t very good still went on the stream telling them how much they suck isn’t gonna help the community in any way or form.
How does someone come to the conclusion that HDR is for scrubs?
High-level SF4 player? From what I saw, he ragequit against a less than mediocre Guile.
It’s definitely tough to commentate for HDR “play by play” unless maybe you’re Seth Killian. I can’t make a lot of excuses except that I was tired after work and just trying to have a fun time playing. Next time I’ll work more on talking about the gameplay, matchups, strategies and talking to all you guys in the chatroom.
I’ll address Pilipino Chomp and his actions shortly…
Yes Shari, it was fun playing you. I’d love to play you offline one day and pick your brain about matchups and stuff.
Filipino Champ. See below.
Hate mail gives me a boner. Good job!
Thanks for tuning in, guys! We’re definitely trying to get more participation and rebuild the scene out here. Sure, we’re from the Bay Area which is the home of some of Street Fighter’s legendary players, but truth be told, there could be more love for the next iteration of Super Turbo over here. Get your friends watching, and we should be getting more requests to play from you guys.
As for Filipino Champ’s commentary, I think this is insight to how a lot of people view HDR, especially those who have just jumped onto the Fighting Game bandwagon as of recent times, namely for SFIV. HDR is almost viewed in a negative light because it is overshadowed by SFIV, even though every member who posts in this HDR thread thinks otherwise.
I think it’s up to each of us to get other people playing HDR if we want to keep it alive. Sure, as HDR players, I think we say it all the time… but I know from experience that this is easier said than done.
Host gaming sessions, get involved in your local scene and get people playing this shit. Host tournament sessions in your scene. Sure, It’s at EVO this year, but who knows how next year fares? We already know it was close to getting the axe this year.

I highlighted most of the stream. I fucked up on some of the highlights and it can not be deleted. Sorry about that.
I hate to sound like we’re defending filipinochamp but we did have a huge argument before the HDR session started. There was a huge debate right around the 6:30 mark, you can hear it on the stream. At the end of the session, he grabbed the mic and started ragging on it again. This is what me and thrust07 have to go through in norcal. Keystone is anti-HDR, as well as many other venues. We’re doing the best we can to promote the ST/HDR scene, even through all these resistance from SF4 players.
Wow didn’t know this tread was back to life. So what did I miss some steamed vides I wanna see I have a video of me going 62 - 0 if anybody wants to watch lol I just don’t know where to post it cause it’s about 2 GB did I mention it was best 3 of 5 lol
P.S. I will rep ST-HDR till death
Double post oops
Seeing as how you guys knew his stance you guys should’ve kept him away from the mic to begin with.
It wasn’t a “huge argument” really. We just had different views on the matter.
And I wasn’t necessarily defending him. It’s true he’s good at SFIV, and doesn’t play ST/HDR.
It’s part of what we go through. It’s true that numbers are lacking in this classic game as players move on to newer pastures aka SFIV soon to be SSFIV.
The players in our scenes just don’t spend the time to play this game as much as other games. I can go on about why this game needs more promotion, but I think I’ve already said why.
For anyone reading this, I wouldn’t go as far to say that Keystone is against playing HDR. Albert was kind enough to let me hold some sessions there for HDR, and he’s held sessions there himself before SFIV came into existence. He himself is a CVS2 and 3s player at heart and doesn’t really play SFIV. He knows how I feel about the situation.
The thing is, it’s the players themselves that don’t take the time to play this game.
He’s jesting most of the time. But I think it brings up some points that we haven’t been addressing. We can mock 4 all we want, but it won’t stop people from playing it, and moving onto the newer games.
Call it, “putting a fire under our asses”.
