HD Remix All-Star Team!

I got your point, and people know what’s up. Some peoples opinions are obviously more respected because of their vast knowledge of the game, and experience aswell. I’ve never played you, but I’ve heard that you are really really good, from people you probably deem as scrubs, should I dismiss their opinion of your skills? I don’t think so. So just from hearsay I assumed you had a high level of experience and knowledge about the game, and ran with that.

You came off as an elitist, which was probably not your intention, but your choice of words was interpreted differently by others.

I’m all for you guys dethroning the old schoolers, it’ll force them to put a bit more focus into the game and realize the skill gap has been closed.

TRUE! But, what does that have to do with top XBL players online? Almost half that you mentioned don’t play on XBL. Wolfe plays on GGPO, OG Sin and Choi on PS3. That list is just a cut and paste of the EVO semi-finalists and who is disputing that these guys aren’t top of their league? Again, more posts that’s derailing from the original topic, which is the best players on XBL, not offline tournaments. Anyone who keeps up with this game and passionate about this game know who the heavyweights are on any platform but again that’s not the debate.

And go ahead ask Valle or Cole their opinion of mister ego trip …and before they would LOL they would realistically be like who’s that??? Have I made it to EVO and or made it to semi-finals year after year as they have? No. I appreciate the fact that you are trying to nip this in the bud with all the arguing that’s been going back and forth but really that’s not what this thread or recent debate is about.

Well for the most part I agree with you that there should be a poll. Because SF is all about matchups. Some people who may be mediocre may have a certain decent player figured out, but they can’t beat other decent players on xbl. So a poll takes out the individual element out of the mix.

I was replying to someone else about missing my point, but you seemed to have missed it too.

Not once did I ever use to word skill, again my whole point has been about experience. If you don’t have the experience in playing a large pool of players how can you accurately compare them? How can you judge who the top players are if you haven’t played enough good players to determine what the actual top level is?

When I call out players by name is not to belittle them. It’s not to be all “Oh that guy sucks” is just to prove the point that for whoever listed that player it was because they lacked to experience to know that the actual echelon of top play is even higher than the skill level of the player they thought was the best.

This is the only point I’ve been trying to make. And I think people need to be more honest in this regard when making their list. I know personally I haven’t played enough Sagats or Cammys to make an accurate top players list for those characters.

That was my point exactly, i was hoping that my post a page back would have prevented this non sense debate but it would seem Bruce’s original comment that sparked the debate was the center attraction for everyone’s rebuttal posts. And I agree with Bruce on his point he was trying to make and I didn’t want to put anybody out on blast as an example or anything since that’s pointless. I mean you even have people that got an honorable mention on the top 5 and replied back as not being deserving of the spot. Even so, let the community decide. My thought was let’s do a poll. But first we need to know all the players names (nominees) that would be added to the poll per character and then let the community decide. As you mentioned it takes the individual aspect out of the equation. i was hoping people would read this and piggy back some ideas off this voting thing.

And this time, if anyone was to read the polls and see they got a low vote or not even nominated to be in the poll for that character than they can just rest easily knowing that the entire HDR community just dissed you instead of just one individual. Hahahaha. I’m joking. Real talk, One should take that as, you have a lot of showing and proving to do in order to change that perception if the majority don’t see you as top caliber material.

What? How are you guys losing to John Choi, considering he plays SF4 almost all day outside of work and sleep and maybe plays HDR/ST 30 mins every 2 or 4 weeks or longer? Robo and DGV, you guys are beasts at least according to this non-accurate thread (LOL) and you play HDR a helluva lot more than Choi, I know he’s not online playing cuz he’s on my friend list on PS3 and he’s rarely on and when he is…it’s SF4. Yeah this dude is insane by any rights but come on, this is 2010, somebody gotta dismantle him from his throne, we can’t let Afro do all the work. After all, Choi is human right? Right? He’s gotta get rusty is all im saying…(maybe when he’s 60)
:nunchuck:

I’m sure he’s really plays SF4 for the competition and then plays HDR tourney for the easy money.

Anyways, on the same note of keeping HDR alive offline, the same must go for online as well. As someone who plays on both platforms, I’ve interacted with a lot of good players from around the globe and they take this game serious as well. I think supporting both local and global community is what will keep this game relevant. I mean really…if you log in to get your daily dose of HDR online and there’s never anyone to play online then it would be safe to say the game is dead, no? If it wasn’t for the regulars, SRK fam and the HDR pros that jump on from time to time I probably would lose interest in the game by now. Since the online community is still strong I can’t seem to walk away from this game. Ono, says that his intentions was to bring back old school players and new players alike with SF4, but I like to think that HDR brought back most of the old school players. Heh-heh!

um like valle, graham, watson, choi, afrocole

I already addressed the whole thing about experience so I’m not quite sure what I missed, Bruce. I also said that we should base lists off of what we have and not what we don’t (in this case, a lack of players for certain characters).

whats up wit u puttin bluetall up there wit daigo. im not sayin nothin bad bout bluetall but come on be for real. most japs are on a higher evel than the elite americans players…im not tryin to be a di…btw

But the problem with the “POLL” is that you still have to put up who you think are the top players. So that people can place there poll choice’s which bring us right back to who decides whos the best

And, by the way JAP’s were never higher then anyone else in VST. Sure Diago is a great and, will always be a great player but, he would lose to an American player just like anyone else in VST or HDR

Well if we want to point out flaws in voting methods then one could probably find flaws in our democracy since it is based on well…voting! Like I mentioned, there’s no 100% accurate way of saying who’s truly the best player per character, but majority can vote and you will see a gauge of who the community thinks is the best given the names entered for the votes. So really if people think Afro is the best player with Dee Jay or Balrog than you will see the highest percentage go to Afro under each SF character he’s nominated in…then whoever else scores the 2nd highest goes to that player and so on. The polling system only takes the tension away from an individual saying who’s the best and let the community interact on who as a group think are the top players are. This could be labeled as HDR community poll for XBL…and then people can vote on who they think are the top players given the choices of players nominated in the list. Keep in mind this should be for players who have an XBL account and players that have shown and prove to the community that they are deserving for the spot based on the percentage of wins against any opponent/character they face.

I’ve played sirlins bison and cammy…I got absolutely destroyed by his bison, took a round off his cammy, second round was competitive, and the last two he destroyed me.

…or the shoryuken.com HD Remix player’s choice awards

thats all I have to say

im looking at these losers names and im noticing a trend… lol pathetic.

Whoa. :wtf: This sounds like you believe Daigo loses to Americans in ST. R U kidding me? Sure he didn’t win HDR but I doubt he even PLAYED it before evo last year.

The average Japanese player plays ST better than the average american ST player. My guess is Japanese don’t have to play HDR since the ST scene there is still pretty alive. IF there were more Japanese playing HDR on XBL, ( save for lag issues) they would be the majority of the HDR all-star list.

But whatever, maybe you can just play Daigo one day to see for yourself…:karate: Good luck.

This makes no sense.

Bruce’s Suck List:
SMQ

Bruce’s Just Good List:
OSKI
Me

Bruce’s Great List:
Prodigy
Zaspacer
Caesar

Bruce’s Top List:
Plush
Cvital

So I’m better than SMQ? I hate the guy, but I gotta admit, he’s better than me.

And I can easily beat a few players from your “great” list, so that doesn’t seem right to me, either. I remember you and I played a few times, and if I remember correctly, I have more wins on you and I’ve stepped my game up quite a bit since then, not to knock your Deejay or anything.

But it all goes back to what people are saying about who is top and who isn’t – in the end, it’s up to each player to determine who the best, in their minds, are.

After all, we both got second-place nods from BTC for our characters cough mine wasn’t a tie cough who are WE to decide the best? I’m just kidding everyone, Haru, DGV, Afro, that’s all you need to know.

i disagree with most of these nominations except for some obvious ones. im all for feelin good bout yourself but damn All stars ahould be the best of the best.

I have played Daigo in ST and HDR. Again not saying that he is not a exceptional player but, he loses in ST and HDR to many American players just like any other JAP player. Sure there are many more ST jap players that are better then the best American player but, for the ones that make the trip to America to play lose just like everyone else does.

Instead of saying you disagree, why dont you put up a list of your own.

List like these are good motivation or puts a chip on my shoulder…Its like i want to find the people who didn’t post my gamertag & beat them & say Now you know, knowing is half the battle! Really everyone wants to be recognize as a top player for their character, im sure that’s the ultimate goal for everyone.

I think my list is pretty solid! That’s right i said it. The thing is most of the people i listed i haven’t played in awhile. I have leveled up & found some new tricks…I want to see how much i have improved.

Ego, you need to start the polls already so i can star wrecking people who dont vote for me  Hopefully this will spark some friendly or not so friendly competition!
