It’s funny how NappyNightmares has those asterisks next to his name. You’re definitely not the only one who feels that way hahaha.
You think I’m the second best Cammy? NOW THAT is a compliment!
I mean I would definetly agree that Mr. Jangara is #1 but he’s also a world away… also NakamuraT (Who I’m almost 100% sure is actually Naka… the Cammy master himself…)
Also gotta respect that Guile list… that’s just plain nasty.
Great list from all but anylist that has me on there they should remove me cause im only average at best compared to all these other guys. And I’m surprised alot of people aren’t listing Muteki lol. Just my opinion. take care
And cue Mars with his amazing humility! If you are average at best when compared to the best, then you are average amongst the best, therefore you are one of the best!
All I have to say is if I get hit by another j. lk crossup into X3 Cr. LK into super again…
Thanks for the mention on Hawk and Dic. You’re easily the scariest Blanka I’ve ever seen Antonio. Its always a pleasure to play you.
I only posted the people who I have played. I don’t doubt that if I were to play Muteki, Nakamura, and Aniken on live they would definitely be the best with there characters. I also just remembered other people that are on my list…
Balrog- Moocus (This guy is alot better than he gives himself credit)
Dhalsim- SweetJV totally forgot since he hardly plays online anymore
Dude, I came over tonight because I remembered one of the finest players and recalled that no one had mentioned him on any of these lists, and that is KJ out the 17th. Brownie points for mentioning him. The guy ruled Hyper Fighting with an iron fist. I remember hearing that he could beat DGV easily, and only Mike Altamira’s Honda ever beat him in a race to 10. Vegetabroly is the only one I ever knew got a double perfect off the man. How’s those mentions to all my Hyper OGs?
Oh, and thanks for second mention on the Chun list. Means a lot coming from a player like you. Your entire list is spot on (except maybe I’d list Cvital high on that Bison list).
I would put SnakeEyez at #1, he’s the only gief that i’ve played that makes my balls sweat during cold ass January…His walk up SPDs are beyond godly…
That’s a great Guile list!
Yeah I have to agree baklakilla, Snake Eyez is like a god when it comes to gief mirror matches, he's a beast I also feel that you deserve a spot on this list in my place cause less time we played you whipped my ass! so I'm gonna nominate u then!
Zangief > xxkuroppixx, SnakeEyez***, Sammie Bash ,baklakilla, Evo, THA problem24
Well CE/HF players have god like footsies, they know the correct spacing to punish a fucking leg sweep e.g Ryu’s crouching hk!!! I wish I started off playing that instead so I could whup up on the Super Turbo player i.e people who started playing Street Fighter in competitively in its last iteration like me
Goes to Japanese CE videos and realize I suck
haha man get out of here, i’ve played you, you deserve a spot for sure
i agree with you on muteki though, he will always be number one
Actually most HF/CE players suck at ST. KJ is one of the few exceptions but a lot those players who ruled HF aren’t shit when it comes to ST.
I totally agree with you about SnakeEyez. Some of the stuff he does online is like “I need to see that shit in person.” I don’t agree with you about NappyNightmares though. I don’t need to play him offline to know that he sucks.
Also a lot people are listing a lot of players who really shouldn’t be listed (and no that doesn’t include you Mars. Please shut up about how “average” you are, you’re making all the real “average” players feel like shit). I know people can only go off of their personal experience. But if you haven’t had the experience against top players to compare other players too, you really shouldn’t be making a list of the top players in HDR.
Thinking Cap On…
Agreed, and a very good point Bruce! And that’s always the case in a thread like this and it will always vary based on the person who’s making the list and their personal exp. as you mentioned. I admit that it seemed like fun at first when I created my list awhile back but when I was putting it together, I didn’t want to list players who just gave “me” a tough time but rather list players who can give “anyone” a tough time with their respective character. To me, it seemed like the baseline approach that everyone should model from to begin their own list.
But if you’re really looking to measure the best talent then there needs to be a guideline in place on how to rank people and there has to be a community consensus that can agree (give or take) with the players listed. As far as guidelines, let’s just say for example if there’s not a Top-Tier Cammy player (one who can hold their own against top players whose using opposite characters or give their worst match ups a hard time or mirrors, etc.) then maybe we don’t list anyone for that top spot. Sure there are mid-tier players and then there’s mediocre players that main certain characters but should they win by default to the top 5 if you can’t think of anyone else to fill in the top 5 spot?
Then you have other aspects to consider, deciding if the list is going to be the greatest of all time players or just active players only list or do both? Also, I don’t see a need to exclude players based on regions, since this is an XBL list and if that person has an XBL account and proved that they are beasts then they get listed regardless of where they are from (i.e Japan). Only time you can do a legitimate exclusion if your doing an active player only list.
Lastly, I think it’s a hit or miss with one person making a truly comprehensive Top 5 list on their own that everybody will just agree to. Sure, all “the” top spots are a given (i.e. DGV, Damdai, BTC, etc…) but it gets a little more complicated and debatable as you try to determine who’s 2nd, 3rd, 4th and 5th rank without a system in place. As I’m typing this I just thought of something…it might be easier to do a poll study of who everyone think those spots should be and then the person making the list can compile. One method that might help is that we list all the “nominated” players that we know for each character(s) and have the community vote on the players within each list. Then used the poll results to determine who gets 1st, 2nd, 3rd, etc. To me that seems the most fair way to handle it and takes the blame of judging/ranking away from the person making the list.
The end result should be a “true” top 5 list that the community agrees with. It should also give new players to XBL a glimpse of who the heavyweights are and mid-tier players or next in-line players (6th place and so on) an incentive to step up their game and earn the recognition they deserve to make it to the top spot list. Who knows, there could be some OG veterans (that normally plays offline) out there that may want in on this action and come across this list and want to cut out all the mid-tier action and go straight for the juggular!

I definitely mentioned him on my list like a month ago for Sagat
So what about these guys?
Royal Phlush
OSKI H
Cvital
Narcissus Ceasar
SMQ
Prodigy
Zaspacer
Nipul
…just to name a few.
Blanket statements like that are on the same level as your comment about people who haven’t played top players and making lists.
I would say that the HF guys that did make the move to ST have done quite well. I would even say that in many ways, they’re better players.
OK, “ain’t shit” was too strong a word, but Cvital and Plush are the only players from your list that I would consider top players. SMQ sucks. Oski H and Nipul are just good, not great players. Prodigy, Zaspacer and Naricussus Ceaser are great players but Ceasar was the best guile in HF while he’s not even top 5 in HDR, which was the general point I was trying to make.
And what was wrong with my statement about people who lack experience making erroneous “top player” lists? How am I wrong?
im gonna have to agree wit decoy too. playin hf made the transition to st pretty smooth for me but also when i go back to ae and use hf charcs i feel as st made me better also or it could be that my hf blanka is just beastly…on a side note i dont think people should get all the credit on hdr cause its so much easier to do moves and the prioritys on moves is diff…just me but u dont get respect from me unless u can do the same on st as hdr
True, but you’re also conveniently forgetting that the biggest whiners and complainers are ex HF players. Stuff like: “Guile’s cr Forward sucks in ST and HDR” and “I want Ryu’s invincible Shoryukens back”. You know who I am talking about. I used to be a whiner too, but now my game is a lot better than the HF complainers. They’re actually giving HF a bad name.
HF is funny. I never really played it, but I had a go the other day. Due to how may pad is set up, I never use the fast lariat with 'Gief, just the normal one. Well, I used the fast one and boy was it fast. It was like FUCK HOW FAST DOES HE SPIN. It was awesome.
I guess we just don’t like stuff that isn’t familiar. No doubt the SFIV players would call me a ST complainer.
My first true love will always be Hyper fighting but im loving HDR…Im not a fan of ST though…
Ego you should start up that poll…
