It feels like too much is going on. The show confirmed my theory as to what the grand scheme was. But in all honesty I stil really don’t know what is happening. I will watch it again when the season is done.

Yeh I’m with DJ and Snake, they just blurted out a bunch of names whilst they were figuring out what was going on and I was just getting more lost trying to keep up. I might try to rewatch the whole season over the weekend.

Lets see if I can summarize it off the top of my head
In the 90s, during the LA Riots, 3 cops got together and robbed a diamond store of some blue diamonds worth millions, the kids survived but the parents were killed. Those 3 people then moved shortly later to Vinci, presumably buying into the position with the money from the robbery, and became the police chief, a lieutenant, and a regular detective (Dixon, dude who got headshotted). Caspre was an accountant who laundered/handled the money and merchandise, and apparently held onto the diamonds for 25 years as blackmail over those other 3 who were involved.
Fast Forward, they’re all enjoying cushy jobs with 6+ figures and are involved in the corrupt power scheme of Vinci.
Meanwhile, there is this rail corridor that is planning to be build between So Cal and Nor Cal. Frank, Vince Vaughns character, was a typical gangster who was running drugs, clubs, and women through LA. He bought a waste management company, and used it to poison/pollute all the land through central California where the rail corridor would be build, in order to drive the prices down. Then he was promised a buy in on the land, at cheap prices, which would secure his families future and make him go “Legit” leaving the life of crime behind. He gave his money to Caspre, who was going to handle the paperwork with the company Catalyst and make it all look legit. Frank sold every stake he had in everything illegal to get the money to buy in. He apparently still needed more money, so he tried to partner with some other crime families (particularly the russians).
Then Caspre died, with all of Franks money in his possession, leaving Frank broke and with no power or territory, and then his body was found by woodrough. That brings our 3 detectives together.
They get put on the task of solving the murder. But Ray is a dirty cop, he works for both Vinci (who is corrupt) and for Frank (who he owes for leading him to his wives rapist years before). Vinci wants him to pin the murder on some pimp. The other 2 detectives are asked by that black lady (who works in the attorney generals office) to look into corruption in Vinci and use the murder as an excuse.
Frank sends Ray to check out caspres secret house, where he is met with “Birdman” and shot with rubber bullets, and left there.
They find that some of the jewelry which belonged to caspre showed up in a pawn shop, they traced it back to a hooker, and then her pimp, and then tried to raid his place, which led to the huge shootout and the guy ended up dead.
Case closed.
Until years later, the black lady comes back and reopens the case secretly. Turns out, her boss used that case to promote himself to run for office, and it didn’t feel right to her. She thinks he was in on the whole Vinci PD thing, and asks the 3 to prove themselves. She said she now trusts Ray, because her wives rapist was recently found and the rumors about him killing the guy were false; this sends Ray off, because he thought he DID kill the rapist. And he realized his entire descent into being a dirty cop was for nothing, and tried to blame Frank.
Frank finds out that the girl who pawned the jewelry was paid by a cop to do that, a skinny white cop (probably the same one who shot Woodrough). This led the cops back to the guy who actually started the big shootout; the cops, however, tipped him off ahead of time, to create the big shootout, trying to kill as many of the people as possible. Remember how they were like “Do you really need this many people?” as they left on the raid? They wanted a smaller group so they could be executed; not a big group marching to their deaths.
The detectives are led down a path where they find out about these sex parties. Turns out a lady had a sister who worked for Annies dad, and then just disappeared. Pictures showed up at her mailbox randomly, including those blue diamonds. Annie goes undercover as a sex worker, gets into the party, where she finds out all sorts of powerful men were in cahoots. The guy in charge of the vinci PD, the mayors son, The original attorney general who was suspected of being in bed with Vinci, pretty much any major player in the story so far (outside of the mayor and Frank) were there. She rescues the girl, who was drugged in the bathroom, and the 3 get out of there after she slices and dices a security guard.
The girls says she wasn’t prisoner, she enjoyed what she was doing, and the pictures belonged to Caspres girlfriend, who was taking pictures at these parties to try and blackmail the people. They took her to a shed and killed her for what she did (the shed found earlier in the show).
Ray goes to tell the black attorney general lady what happened, when boom, shes already dead, killed by a gun from Rays house. So now Ray and Annie are wanted for Murder, and have to hide.
Meanwhile, Frank finds out his right hand man has been selling him out. Blake killed Stan, and has been plotting with the russians the entire time to take over Franks territory. He tells him Caspre was going to fuck him out of the deal even before he died. He also tells him the russians are taking over his businesses, by buying the liens from the bank, and that everybody who was his friend is basically turned on him, because he turned his backs on them trying to go legit with the rail corridor. Frank admits he always felt out of place going legit, and decides to go back to his roots. He kills Blake, waits for the Russians, pretends to be friends with them, shoots some of them in his casino, then burns down every business he owned that the russians bought after cleaning out the money. He has a plan to skip town with some cash, and hes going to try and steal 12 million dollars from the russians with a deal about to go down. Hes in full gangster mode for the first time in awhile.
At the same time, woodrough is getting blackmailed with his gay photos that were taken of his friend from the military and him having sex, pictures taken by Dixon. He goes to confront them, and turns out his old military group is now working exclusive security for Catalyst, the rail corridor land group. They found the pictures in Dixons apartment after he died, used it to lure him into a trap, to try and get documents he stole from the party back. A big gunfight ensues, with Woodrough kiling 5 of the guys, including his old friend/boyfriend, and then getting out of the tunnels, only to be capped by a guy hiding in the shadows, leaving him for dead.
At the end of the last episode, Annie and Ray realize that Caspres Secretary is lying about who she is, and her name. She is the little girl who was the daughter of the jewelry store owners when it was robbed.
This makes her and her brother – likely the “set photographer” we met earlier – most likely for what is going on. Nobody seems to know who killed Caspre on any side of whats going on, according to Blake.
Whats most likely going on? (Conjencture at this point)
the brother and sister grew up fucked up, the sister got involved with the sex parties, until she met Caspre and became his secretary/girlfriend/trusted confident. He showed her the blue diamonds, and which point she knew he was involved with the murder of her parents. She and her brother killed him, and are enacting revenge on those involved. The car was stolen from the movie lot, which her brother had access to. The rubber bullets and shotgun could have been lifted from the movie set too. Which makes Birdman her brother (or potentially her, I suppose). They killed Caspre, which set off everything thats happened so far in motion.

My guess, is they just want to take down all the rich, corrupt people who think they can get away with the stuff they do at the parties; I imagine that hard drive showing up at the reporter who Ray kicked the shit out of might make things interesting
Theres also the whole subplot with Annie being kidnaped and raped as a kid, and possibly seeing the guy who did it at the party, and seeing as they’re all connected to her dad in the past, there might be something even more sinister there
At least a few of those chicks that were at the party came from Panticapaeum (googled it) Institute.
The lost girl and I thought she mentioned Tasha came from there too? Or am I imagining that?

So, who the fuck was the guy in episode one that had the raven mask, helmet, whatever? I assume he’s the one who shot Velcoro in episode 2 but who the fuck is he? And what about that parkour motherfucker in episode 3 or 4? Who the hell was that?
Leading hypothesis is the one P Willy laid out: it’s the kids that saw the cops kill their parents and steal the blue diamonds. The kids are now Caspre’s assistant and the set photographer. They would know about Caspre and the diamonds and his dealings withe the Vinci PD through the girl and the guy would have access to rubber bullets and set car through the movie studios.
Probably best guess.

The thing that I think is most likely to happen and bum me out the most is a jordan betrayal.
How the fuck was she supposed to know Velcoro wasn’t the dad. That kid looks nothing like BOTH parents.
Either way, it’s funny how everyone who did some shady shit ended up dying. Woodrough with his shit in Afghanistan, Frank being Frank, and Velcoro with the murder of that tweaker he thought raped his wife. You could take away that this is some sort of punishment fitting the crime but it really doesn’t, least of all for Velcoro. It’s a sorta stupid way to say “your past catches up with you” and feels lazy.
And out of nowhere the Mexicans found Frank? I get it, the Turks or wherever they are from turned him in, but come on. Why would they give him up to the Mexicans? Seems a bit forced, not to mention petty, to have them kill him. Think about it. The information Frank got from that woman didn’t even bear fruit. Not only that, but why wouldn’t they talk to Frank first about alternatives to the clubs before taking him out to the desert? It seems too rash to be believable because, as far as the Mexicans know, Frank is worth way more alive than dead.
With Velcoro, I don’t understand why, after so carefully shooting some motherfuckers, he just runs out from behind a tree into their auto-aim. Did he suddenly look up at the tree and think to himself, “Ah, fuck it. Might as well bite it now”? He took out a few of them and probably could have still gone on had he just kept quiet and not jumped out like it was the Wild West. Even ignoring that, did he really have to die because of his past sin?
You shoulda known ray was getting ahot they straight up told us that shit in epidode 3. Or 4 whenever episode after he got shot by ravenhead.

I was rooting for Frank at the end there too. Velcoro’s exit was fucking depressing.
As soon as he ate those bullets I said that was dumb. Really made no sense considering he was taking them out. Definitely seems like they all feel some greater power.
