CONFIRMED: Hawken will be free-to-play, like TF2! Items to customize your mech can be bought using an in-game currency backed with real money, or found via in-game drops.

System requirements:
Unknown at the time, but it does use Unreal Engine 3, which is optimized to run on lower-end systems.
