Having Input Problems, Anyone Else Too?

I’m having problems with when i’m trying to do combos sometimes moves come out without me actually pressing the button for them. For example: I’m trying to do a s.HP>QCB s.LP but when I input s.HP and the QCB the game treats it like I inputted s. HP>QCB s.HP without me ever pressing HP again. This is really annoying and makes it to where I can only do certain combos about 50% of the time. I’m new to SF so maybe this is a system that’s been in place for a while but I’m wondering if anyone else is experiencing these problems as well and if there is a specific timing or some other way to get around this issue. Any help is greatly appreciated(:

I swear sometimes this game doesn’t register my crouch blocks.

Your negative edging the s.HP. Either release the HP button quicker, or hold down s.HP while you press s.lp.

Yes, you’re negative edging it in all likelihood. In terms of my own input woes, the diagonals in this game seem infuriating; I think the area for targeting those on the controller is much tighter, and what would be down-back or down-forward in SSF4 would be down in this game. Even on an Xbox analog stick, I miss special moves occasionally, and I ride the damn outer edge of the circle; with inputs on, the diagonal never even happened.

Ya ok guys thanks for the help, coming from a umvc3 perspective the inputs seem to be a lot tighter in sfxt but i guess i’ll just have to practice, but i’ll try the holding down HP thing

Just slow down your inputs, make them a little cleaner and tighter. Don’t rush it, be sure you get a c.HP before you start the motion.

That’s because there’s a well-known glitch in the 360 version that makes the game flip out when you input diagonals. If you’re using a stick, switch it to d-pad mode. If you’re using a pad, don’t use the analogue. If this isn’t a viable solution, then it’s your fault for not doing proper research before buying a flawed product.

Dont defend Capcom for this, this is a issue that should be fixed and not shunted with ‘Ignore it.’

Inputs feel very odd in this, I really need to get a arcade stick.

It would be better in the long run if you go with just not holding the button down as long if favour of holding it down longer. Just slower separate distinctive inputs.

I am the alrighty Bison!

No, I’m not defending Capcom. How many people would have bought this piece of shit game if they actually knew about all the broken crap they’d have to put up with?

Ok fair enough im with you on that.

I own the PS3 version and have had few to no problems regarding inputs. However, when I go to a friends for some casuals on the 360 version a lot of things seem off. I miss inputs much more frequently to the point I tell myself “I swear I blocked that!” or “I swear I did this!”

I play on a Dualshock 2 pad and used a PS2/3->360 converter (Xttoki) set on PAD. This has never happened in any other fighting game I’ve played on either system.

I did order a brand new pad that should be coming in tomorrow just in case it is on my end. I’m going to a Major soon so I hope this situation is resolved by then.

What kind of TV is it on? Until i got a gaming monitor to play I couldn’t react to anything properly and all my moves came out late.

ASUS lagless monitors.

me coming from playing alot of tekken and umvc3 this game is very difficult for me to get in to. the timing on inputs is just crazy for me. i dont think ive even won a match online yet lol

there is a problem with 360 pads where diagonal directions do not register a lot of the time with the analog stick. I am really surprised that people aren’t more aware of this because it’s game breaking, think of all the times you need to use diagonals - crouch blocking, jumping over fireballs, jumping away from people, quarter circle motions, srk motions, holding down back for charge, etc. Not being able to us diagonals half of the time affects every character very badly, it’s unbelievable that capcom didnt hotfix this in the first few days

Yeah theres a diagonal glitch especially with the 360 analog, I really hope Capcom addresses this.

When I use the Xttoki pad converter for PS2>360 and switch the mode to “Wheel” and use the Analog, down back/forward doesn’t seem to exist. I could not get the character to crouch. When the mode is on “Pad”, it’s much more better and definitely much more playable, though I still feel like I’m getting some shoddy inputs compared to playing on the same pad on a PS3. It’s definately not the converter’s fault either, as it works just fine for KoF, Mvc, AE.

I’ve yet to test a PS1 controller on SFxT 360.

Has anyone else had an issue when they are blocking low attacks…and then magically stop blocking low?

I am thinking that this is my imagination, but playing online with both my ghetto hitbox (Madkatz TE with Hitbox layout), holding Down-Right or Down-left after a while, I get blown up.

This does not happen in any other Fighting game, not even Marvel.

Holy crap is this tru? I was wondering about this, i figured it was just me not getting the commands correct… I will have to try this.
