To be fair and balanced…

As far as SF4 goes, Only Vu really plays in shereveport and toi and Jacob in New orleans for that matter.
BR has a bunch of people that play all the time(lsu randoms and more), simi seriously just like shereveport and New Orleans. N.O has the power of dibbs but who is traveling and leveling up from dibbz in sf4?
Hey don’t forget about me I’m in BR now and will be for at least 5 years.
BR is playing less then every city in Louisiana. It’s just a fact man.
dubh is right about bison and chun, proof is the fact that jacob plays them both…
Sure jacob is better than toi. But the characters both mash on normal’s and walk back and forth attempting not to give up a charge and pressure you to death with normals and one special. Its no question that jacob has better footies but if you hate that style of play you should hate it 100% all around.
Like i said I feel toi is random but not as random as julio thinks and I think he’s naturally good to where he doesn’t need to practice as much as maybe julio or jacob and because he has found a character that fights his style in sf4 he can get away with it to a certain extent.
I can understand being upset you feel you have to put in twice as much brain power than the next guy but that’s the nature of competitive anything, so you gotta find your lane, and if you want to always feel like when you out think someone you should win play a top tier character that will yield those results FOR YOU, and honestly in that regard SF4 is much better than old games, because regardless of how much you might have known about a game and your mid tier or low tier character back in the day, you weren’t gonna break top 8 without playing a top tier.
Toi I’m not ballin this year so I can’t travel to any majors. Besides you can’t drink with me anyway guppie. I still got my money on toi in that ft10 vs julio.
No one in Lafayette plays sf4 except zaith nowadays.
and I’m willing to bet the house ray j is a fraud.
i dont know what your idea of playing the game is but, me and im pretty sure irvn dont touch the game except for prob monthlies. the people in both towns (south ark and nola) play on live and play eachother. you dont play, lets be honest. and random lsu +more is just a made up statistic they dont exist. now we have one person who moved from outa state. you have to be honest with yourself first and foremost.
gameware attendance say’s different.
My point being is that BR has the weakest players the higher you go up the food chain and its not the fact that no one plays because as far as players that matter each city has 1-2, BR has 3-6 that are competent but never really advance up.
yeah their numbers cresting the mid teens say otherwise? -_-
3-6 is a big spread that might be one more than every single relevant player in this city…and its not because people dont play? lol sure guy i cant be magical forever doing the same shit from week one of super.
Players playing, BR has alot
Above average players, all cities have about 1-2
average players BR/NO have the most.
So as far as players that matter go all cities have 1-2… BR and NO have a huge pool compared to other area’s yet BR hasn’t produced anything that places or travels consistently.
edit; my whole point is BR hasn’t produced anything where as cities with lower tourney turnout or that have been all but dead for awhile have.
Done with this convo
not sure what your expecting, there are prob 40+ states and cities that would kill to have that.
if no one plays then how would they place outside of the state? lets spell it out since you want to force the issue, aside from toi vu and jakob no one matters outside of the state, by track record. unless you count pat who doesnt matter now. so vu living in south ark makes them relevant same as if he lived here. in actuality nola has (had) 4 people and everyone else…yeah
name 6 people that play in baton rouge, that live in baton rouge and play the game, then tell me how many of them cracked top 5 ever…
good job re enforcing my point that BR hasn’t produced anything even tho when have a larger average player pool to pull from and play against, and the same pool of “above average players” to play against. all this other stuff your throwing in is extra.
as far as “major’s” go in sf4 toi, vu, jacob, pat and tyler have placed top 5 I don’t care where they are at now. That leaves BR with zero since vanilla dropped.
good exit strat double posting…i dont give a FUCK about any state that would kill for it they are irrelevant to me and this discussion
>
what you basicly proven is that nola has all the players and the largest player base, grats. you said br doesnt produce players and i retorted with, how can we produce something when no one is working? after which you tried to bring in variables that are not relevant to the topic of top players. please feel free to stray away from the original discussion more please.
oh yeah btw, nice slight there but i said out of state, what out of state major did tyler go to?
idk
anyways, theres another bloodbath and beyond tourney in houston in NOV. its the same tourney format as the last time we went (good showing) teams SF and etc fyi
20 dollar venue fee + 10 a person for teams = no thanks
madoc also said it might not be worth it, but outside of SB its the only thing comin up i know of
Eh to be honest there are only a handful of scenes that can truly say they have a ton of great players. Most of them are groups of 7-20 decent players that get together regularly. The only two scenes I have been to in person that were true powerhouses are Cali and NY.
Though the Northwest wasn’t bad for a smaller scene. The salty runback (64 man tournament) featured names like Buktooth, Afrocole, and Bokkin. In that one I was a blown OS short of knocking Buktooth into loosers and making top 8.
Three ways to get better:
- Play people that beat you. (notice I did not say players that are “better” than you. Throw that shit out of the window.)
- Train option selects for every possible scenario you can possibly use it for.
- Learn spacing.
For those considering going to Season’s Beatings, its 4 weeks away now. Get your plane tickets ready. CMH is the airport.
I have the room reserved already for fri, sat, and sun night ($200 plus tax total). Make sure to pre-register online.
They will NOT ALLOW ON-SITE REGISTRATION. Must pre-reg. I want a head count on who’s really going.
Venue fee will go up late Sept. And Ghaleon said you will be sorry if you wait. Just FYI.
