Both games allow the dfx2 shortcut, which makes doing dp’s much more brainless than before.
What gives? I don’t understand why they would truncate such a simple motion in the first place.
Because for whatever reason Japanese developers have a really hard time explaining how to do the motion in manuals and such. 
I remeber that stupid z pattern and explaining to people that they don’t mean for you try to trace a Z on your d-pad/stick.
I never understood why they never wrote it as foward then fireball.
I don’t know about Blazblue but SF4 doesn’t allow a dfx2 shortcut. It allows df, d, df. Which is no different than how it was in 3S. Welcome change from my viewpoint.
I find it faster to do f, d, df than to do qcf x2.
I mess up both motions anyway.
I just wiggle the joystick wildly and mash punch until a DP comes out. That’s why I main Ragna.

sf4 has df, df = dp…i just randomly did it in BB not expecting anything.

I always got away with F, qcf for dragon punches
but I never really played super turbo so I don’t know if it worked in that
Pretty much got the job done in every other game

I’m a newb and even I don’t get this…
Even in your instructions, your missing an element of how to do a DP. After pressing forward, return stick to neutral position and fireball…
Because now anyone can just mash DF+P and get the reversal shoryu almost 100% of the time.
WTF is a Z motion? GGPO DP motion.
Regular DP allows for walk up shoryu. Learn it!
