about yun vs necro and chun vs necro match up
chun is hard . she cut all of necro move … only necro can do j.round house , c.forward , and drill kicks …but chunli need charge this meter and you have advantage in distance …
yun is sooo hard i talk about a yun player who know the match up…run away and charge genei jin … taking 0 risk is soo hard for necro
another side if yun not know the match up necro work soo good …one chance and yun are stunned
no yun is still #1 match up is still 6 4
lol no way is necro vs urien in necros favor
5-5 MAYBE, but Urien has so much shit going for him against Necro and Necro has just as much shit again Urien as he does vs other bigger characters. Necro’s probably one of the best characters for Urien to do combos on and Necro is so fucking slow in the air, one slightly wrong spinkick is death.
i think this … because necro(sa1) can keep away urien really well…
but after all . is me opinion. not yours
the tougeki book says(looking at the charts, i can t read japanese) yun can beat chun and ken, chun beats ken, BUT overall(i m assuming the whole cast) chun’s chances of winning are 21%, yun’s is 20%.
the other thing is, a solid chun is already tough, option selects and SGGKs make chun pretty whorish. other characters have tougher SGGKs involving joystick execution so its not too common to see it.
who neg repped me? lol
Ditto haha. The comment is just a dash. If you’re gonna type something in, at least say something worthwhile. Or maybe… gasp your name
There are some serious issues with that list.
Necro-Gouki isn’t that bad, and Necro-Urien is definitely not in his favor once Urien has meter. Some of the rest of those look off by 1 to me. Either too high or too low.
This really isn’t the place to be debating his match-ups though.
I got negged for my first post in this thread.
Pretty funny, actually.
^ same here, guess its a chun player?
I got negged for asking for Tigerboi’s original pic.
One word for that guy - Faaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaag
Tigerboi:  Awesome picture
Ow I got negged hard LOL.
is hard because air fireball and distance game…i think this match up is like hugo vs gouki match up
first sa3 isn’t a good choice (i think) becuase you can’t do shit about air fireball (out .anticipate) sa1 is good because you can react vs a ir fireball from especific distance
but for win that distance you need walk …you can’t jump air fireballs because he can make a sa1 en reaction
teleport is soo good vs necro sa1…he only can punish this whit a s.fierce
necro have a big troubles vs a keep away gouki …like yuki otoko
i say …is me opinion
i don’t want contradict you
pd: i love hayao vs yuki otoko matches… look like old sfce games
looks like im in the club too.
I think Lostintheflurry said it well…
“chun is higher tiered than yun in common practice. slightly lower tiered in theory.”
In other words, Yun is more likely to win if both are played perfectly, but a few mistakes would cost Yun more than they would cost Chun.

I see what you’re saying, but in my opinion this is kind of an unfair statement to make. There is no perfect way of playing this game with any character since so much of it relies on contextual choices made by each player under a certain environment, mindset and pressure. In fact, I think it’s impossible to theorize “the best player” in third strike since there are so many different factors that can make anyone the best at any given time.
I personally believe that Chun-li is the favored character in a match-up against yun. The reason I say this is because her poking and spacing game is just too damn good; good enough to outweigh the pressure of Yun’s Genei Jin. Virtually every one of her most commonly used poking set-ups lead to a hard hit in the face, a grab, or a connect to SA II. Each one is a favor for Chun-li.
If she hits Yun with a far fierce or something (and she’s got a lot of other “somethings” to choose from), then he is knocked back and can get afraid of doing those tricky dive kick scenarios. This will keep a fair amount of space between the two characters which is important with Yun since he can set up 123/zenpo tenshin/standing forward/etc.xxgeneijin really easily if he’s close. If she pokes and leads into a grab, then she always has the advantage on Yun’s wakeup. Yun’s only move that can out-prioritize (sp?) anything that Chun decides to do is an EX Shoryu (with kick buttons idk wtf its called). Yun, however, doesn’t want to do this too often because he wants to save his precious meter for Genei Jin. And lastly, if Chun connects to SA II, well… we know where that goes. In general, I think Chun-li is good enough as a stand-alone character (not considering any players) to keep Yun’s Genei Jin pressure in check. She just has to make sure that her style greatly interferes with his ability to set up those GJ situations. Someone mentioned this earlier in the thread but I think the recent Amir vs. Pyrolee matches are a perfect example of this. You see Pyro trying to do his thing, but most of it is just shut down by Amir’s poking and heavy hit Chun pressure.
One thing I’ve noticed about Third Strike is that a solid poker/spacer (especially with Chun-li) can shut any player, character or match-up down. I believe this is why ST players are usually pretty damn good at 3s. Players like Daigo, Alex Valle and Mike Watson are all used to playing a game that revolves largely around spacing, quick reaction, and keeping your opponent the fuck off of you. Since Chun-li is so good at this in 3s, that’s why I think she will always have an advantage over Yun.
So am I, for some reason. No comment either.
On topic, isn’t the tier list based on how much advantage a character has over every other character in the game? If so, then Yun keeps his spot on top, despite the VERY small distance from him to Chun. She might overtake him if somebody finds out a way to ground Yun and force him to play by Chun’s rules, which is unlikely.
…hence the distinction between “practice” and “theory”
