Has anyone successfully replaced TE2+ stock pcb with Brook PS3/PS4 board? How to connect top panel?

I am thinking to buy a brook ps3/ps4 pcb to replace my faulty TE2+ cpb. But I haven’t been able to find any information regarding how to connect the te2+ top panel to the ps3/ps4 board. TE2+ comes with the tiny flat ribbon cable. Not sure how to connect those. If anyone has done this before, please share. Don’t really want to buy another breakout board for this purpose. Thanks

Why don’t you get the EZ Mod from Arcade shock? It will save you a headache…

Theres no ezmod for the ps3/ps4 brook board.

Indeed, there is no EZ Mod for brook ps3/ps4 board. Plus, UFB + EZ Mod is way more expensive option than just using a ps3/ps4 board. ($120 vs. $40). I already have all the required soldering tools. Don’t feel like to spend three times of the cost just for this purpose. PS: I have pretty ok soldering skill and don’t care about XBox compatibility.

why would you put a brook ps3 ps4 board in a te2+ is there other features im not privvy to

My pcb went bad. Can’t get it replaced from Mad Catz since I don’t have purchase receipt anymore. And it seems Brook’s board now is actually faster than TE2+ board with one of the recent firmware update. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kZI9y9qfGmE

Theres a diy fix for the bad te2+ pcb though. Search the forum its on here somewhere.

@Javatry how did you go with your TE2+ PCB replacement. I’ve got a Brook PS4+ audio and sick and buttons are easy. PS, L3,R3, working. TPKey (requires soldering TBA as I don’t have the level of soldering experience to solder to the points on the control panel PCB.). Also trying to work on the LED light bar.

Mind you I’m not buying an EZ mod for mine. So trying the hard route. Also electronics is only an interest. So trying to get my head around the basics.

The lock, LS|DP|RS and PS3/PS4 switches will need some sort of logic and LEDs are another story. I might to work out to reverse the common cathode for the player LEDs. The lock would need to your back into the buttons.

I’m interested to see how you went as TES+ and TE2+ are similar.
