Haoh Gadouken Better Then Shisso Buraiken?

In a match, tbh, no. The main thing is that the ultra doesn’t go far enough fast enough to get to someone at a decent (aka fireball throwing) range.

Yeah, if a Ryu throws U1 with both standing at striking range, it’s an amazing tool to go through it and do some great damage. But that’s pretty ridiculous. Really the best chance of getting it is at any level of even remotely capable play is a focus crumple or baiting a whiff.

add me ppl!! need good sparing partners

Damage isn’t worth it ;.;

Bingo.

It’s only really good as using as a wake-up reversal against someone throwing a fireball at you from around a dashes distance away but you’re still taking a big risk in predicting that they’ll throw the fireball in the first place, you can still do that with Haoh Gadouken and it’ll pass through the fireball to score 5 hits, ontop of which if you guess wrong you’ll be blasted back where most characters can’t punish or at least can’t punish with much.

Ryu firing Metsu Hadouken at point blank you can still jump straight over and punish with a Focus Attack Lv3 into big damage

I don’t see how that’s relevant.

I do the wake up fire ball thing pretty much every match against a character with a projectile, on reaction, with both Ultras but Ultra 1 has more range (or it starts up a bit faster…?). Guile’s range where he is at risk is very small, he’ll usually end up blocking this. The shotos are screwed.

Shissou Buraiken - 1+9
Haoh Gadouken - 1+14 (1 frame slower than Gadouken :()

Haoh Gadouken does actually have more range but Shissou probably has more effective range :stuck_out_tongue:

we main DAN
Im pretty sure the majority of us would give up both our meters for long damage inflicting taunt
I personally would give up meter and some of my health if I could combo taunt into stuff. Dan needs obnoxious zero damage taunts in his combos!

Think of it, cr.mk, gadouken, kara cr.taunt cancel, st mp, knee, ex koryu fadc cancel to air taunt, RESET

im shocked…

I feel that U2 is worthless.

U1 does tonnes of damage and is easy as fuck to connect.

Especially considering the character under discussion is a JOKE character.

It’s the opposite once you get your execution down. Most of my meter is spent on Koryuken FADC. They’re stupidly safe and stuff reversals/option-selects at point blank after Danku. I land at least two of those a match, and they let me keep up rushdown momentum. U2 means I get to tack on an extra chunk of damage when one of them lands.

U1 on the other hand, doesn’t have such an easy setup. You’ll only be landing it as a punish or off a Focus Attack, which could be served almost as well with a big combo that generates stun (Ultras and Supers don’t generate any).

Fixed.

I prefer ultra 2 for the Koryuken FADC and just the AA jab Koryuken into Ultra 2 setups. I don’t really feel ultra 1 is much better than cr.hp > h.danku off a crumple.

I like ultra 1 because the scrubby ryu’s and ken’s always try to throw a fire ball on wake up.

Dan mainers are the fucking best.

Thanks :bgrin:

I dont see why people cant combo in to ultra 1… im pretty sure standing HK and both jump in HK/HP combo in to ultra 1 as well as a AMAZING long range ex gadoken… so hands down ultra 1 because A: Super is never used for dmg just taunting and B: noone likes a dan player thats just useing moves he saw ken and ryu do … like really Uppercut FADC ultra is so not dan…

s.HK does not combo into Shissou Buraiken, that thing has serious recovery. No standing normal combos into Shissou Buraiken. j.HK/j.HP can link into Shissou BUT the attack needs to be really deep and therefore there is no way in hell you can actually hit confirm that, you’re just guessing that they won’t block it and that’ll lead to you get serious punishment most of the time. EX Gadouken > Shissou only when in the corner at max range of the EX Gadouken, again if you actually expect to land the EX Gadouken from there most of the time there’s something wrong with you (or your opponent), there’s not really any time for hit confirming that either.

By the by, Dan was KRK FADCing before Haoh Gadouken came along, if you seriously think having the ability to tag an Ultra on the end of that is a bad thing then you need your head examined.

the option to do it is great the fact all i see are “Ryu” players thinking they are soo cool now useing dan because hes epic is my problem with ultra 2

Dan is so much more than the shoto c.MK-fireball pokes and AA-ultra / FADC ultra … he now has c.Taunt to stuff some jump ins and air taunts to knock people out with … makeing dan more like ken and ryu by giveing him the same setups and combos takes alot of the fun away. Ultra 1 is still the ultra of choice for me.

Ryu players choose Dan for Haoh Gadouken? Can’t say I see that happening :looney:

Anti-air cr.taunt isn’t actually safe on hit. They recover before you can block or do anything else. So that’s not a viable tactic in the practical sense. Neither is air-taunt.

Dan was already all about the KRK FADC in high-level play. Before, all we had to tack on to this mega-safe reversal was j.MP. Now we have an Ultra combo. The dynamics of this on Danku mixups give Dan something he was missing. The only comparable thing between all the shotos is the mixup scenario after Ken’s Tatsu, which is hardly considered as much of a focus to Ken’s game then Danku is to Dan’s.

Once you get into playing Dan competently, whether you picked Ultra I or Ultra II you’ll likely be FADCing Koryukens MORE than Ken and Ryu players.
