Nah, see, in South Korea, there’s been altercations initiated by Koreans on foreigners, and if the foreigner so much as lays a finger on the Korean, the foreigner will be the one arrested, and the Korean gets off scot free regardless of if he threw the first punch or not. I’ve heard a couple of cases where the foreigner didn’t even have to throw a punch to get clinked, the Korean claimed verbal harassment and thus aggravated assault and the cops locked up the foreigner.
Having lived in Mainland China, and knowing similar PROBABLY happens in an even more homogeneous country like Taiwan, I’d bet anything the same attitude prevails or else the Chinese dude wouldn’t have opened his goddamn mouth.
