Learning hands which is passing me off because I have to learn a new pattern, which differs from Honda hhs. I’m learning c. mk +c. lp(I’m guessing this is the plink) hp, mp, lp(x2).
I get it in training mode but fail online about 50%. Hhs I get 100% of the time so the frustration is beginning. I don’t want to touch this character if I can’t do RD.
My question am I doing this to slow? I notice when I’m m close to the opponent and try to input the Rd nothing comes out. When I stand further away the whiff c. mk Rd is more likely to come out. It’s a learning process but it’s annoying. It’s bad enough I have to learning ex. hhs now and ex. Rd also.
you might be doing it too slowly or you might be trying to do it too quickly and accidentally hit hp/mp or lp/mp simultanously. check out a replay and see how your inputs look
saw my friend playing decapre last night and he sets his 3P button to MP. i realized i could set my 3P button to LP so i can do my old piano method to go from MP to LP hands! so now I can do MP HP MP HP LP super easy also works for people who like doing LP MP HP LP HP method! (you have to move your hand over though which is not ideal but actually flows very nicely with the BNB you just use your index finger for each button. if they block it, no worries!) that basically covers the last hole in my hands, was having a tough time with MP to LP.
Nice!.. my method works pretty much every time now except when I’m super close to the opponent, then I have to mash lp one more time. But the plink mk+lp, hp, mp,lp(piano), pause slightly and press lp.
I was doing has way to fast earlier, it’s way slower than hhs.
when I am trying to do cMK into hands, when should I get the last piano’d button pressed? Should I be aiming to get the 5th punch pressed a couple of frames after the cMK connects, or while cMK is going through its animation?

the way that cancels work is you have to input move 2 (press the punch or kick button) during the active frames of move 1 (by the last active frame at the very latest).
Cr MK has lots of active frames so its pretty easy to do from that move. move 1 has to connect before it can cancel as well.
the way you want to do it is press your first input and MK and the same time, then just follow your standard piano input.
i.e. CR MK + LP MP LP MP HP for CR MK into HP Dagger
hmm thats not a bad idea either i was thinking about putting it on 3K button. i decided i dont really like using my pinky for cr mk. ill try that position tho might find it actually better.
my main problem is i really like using my middle finger for cr MK. right now im playing with a few differnet ideas, the most reliable seems to be pressing MK + LP at the same thing with 1 finger laid out, but i sometimes dont get the MK early enough in matches. so cr MK+LP HP LP HP LP for LP and opposite for FP. this way you dont use MP which can accidently trigger (RED!!!) focus.
I can actually just do cr MK and input any hands method i want seperately which i am sort of liking, it just seems a bit inefficient to have an extra button press. Seems to be more precise though so it might be worth it if i can get it just a bit faster.
you will need it in high level play. starting on mp is good for hitconfirm off the bnb and thats about it. its basically a replacement for cammy’s ability to cr mk xx spiral arrow
Its too bad the game doesnt let you bind stuff like MK + LP but then it starts to get too out of hand i suppose.
