Are you interested in Fighting games? Are you in the Hamilton area? Then come down to Super 1UP games every Thursday to compete Super Steel City Fight Night Ranked Battles. The super 1UP community has been growing and thriving for 3 years now, and we’re looking to keep growing for the arrival of Street Fighter V. All players are welcome, new, or skilled. If you’re looking to learn the game, hone your skills, or win some money, we want you to join our community!
Ranbats will be starting up on Thursday February 18th. Casuals start around 4pm, tournaments start at 7pm. The games we will be running this season will be Street Fighter V (PS4), and Guilty Gear Xrd (PS3).The season will have 8 tournaments, with a break after week 4 (lined up with March Break) and then the final 4 tournaments. The season will cost $20 for 8 tournaments with a $2.50 drop in price if you enter in a later week. After every tournament points will be awarded to the top 8 placing players, and will be recorded throughout the season. If we get 20 or more players top 5 will be paid out, and if we’re able to get over 32 players, players that ranked in top 8 will be paid.
The point system has been slightly revised for this season:
1st - 12 points
2nd - 8 points
3rd - 6 points
4th - 4 points
5th - 2 points
7th - 1 point
and the pay out goes
Tier 1 (20+ players)
If SFV or Xrd draws 20 players or more, Super 1up will add an additional $100. The payout will increase from Top 3 to Top 6. Using a 20 player base model:
$400 + $100 total pot
1st - $250
2nd - $120
3rd - $60
4th - $30
5th - $20
5th - $20
We’ve all been on that bubble where you’ve practiced hard, played well in the tournament, but just come up short of top 3. We want those players to be rewarded for their hard work and strive to reach the next level.
Tier 2 (32+ players)
If either Xrd or SFV draw 32 players, Super 1up will add an additional $100 to Tier 1, now paying out Top 8 and adding more money for everyone else.

On top of the tournaments we have two lounges with Super Smash Bros Melee, and Super Smash Bros 4 casuals.
Super 1UP is located at 1917 King St E, Hamilton, ON. It’s one bus away from either Mohawk College, or McMaster University. If you drive, there is a lot of parking in the King Rose Plaza across the street.
