With Guile it is never wasted meter cause he gets it so damn fast. Best battery in the game i believe. Yet again i missed another casual, my girlfriend has a temp cast s she needs a lot of attention rightnow… nuff said. Went to the theatres today and i saw like 4 previews for amazing games hehehe. Dont know why im mentioning that oh mayeb its because the movie i saw was a complete waste of time.
Actually in the case with Jamie, it was wasted meter. Guile had almost NOOOOO health left and the other guy had more than half health. Also, the next matchup was bad for Justin. There was no chance of winning the round. Jamie’s best option was to be patient and look for an opportunity to hit simple things eg. s.fp, d.mk, and basic anti-airs. Easy damage and then just drain the time.
But Jamie just blew the meter leaving Justin with nothing, and without meter in a bad matchup it’s very hard to do anything. Since meter scares your opponent into playing cautious, you end up more of a level playing field.
Anyways, to sum this all up. Blowing level 3 sonic hurricane for chip damage was pointless when the match is already lost because your opponent will gain the health he lost from the chip back in the next round.
On a side note. This took me 10 mins to type out because I’m totally wasted and have had NOOOOOO sleep in the last 2 days. So i’m out. And if it doesn’t make sense or is incorrect, i’m sorry.
Actually what happened was this. Justin was up against random York scrub. Knowing this, he just asked if I wanted to use his Guile first. I took it and just managed to beat the guy’s Blanka with about 10% health left.
I had full meter so when the next round started, I tried to do the dreaded “sonic hurricane at the start of the round to catch an opponent flinching”. I don’t have the timing down for it and the guy, with Sagat, dashed back, the sonic hurricane totally whiffed so he did a super fireball and killed me. It wouldn’t have been so much a waste if I did get tick damage with it but I mean I missed completely…so it was a waste…:lol:
It was pretty much not a big deal. Justin came in with Vega and peaced the guy out anyways without needing his R2 Kim. Still pissed him off that I wasted the meter though. :lol:
Yeah, absolutely. I’ll actually probably start using York a bit more for competition cause its easier for me to get there than Orbit so when you get a day off just yell at me…
EDIT: Oh yeah, BTW, I hope no one from Hamilton came to UN cause I didn’t make it. Ended up being with the ball and chain…especially since it seemed like no one was going to be going to UN that I knew of. Didn’t want to go and find a generally empty arcade…

Myself, and I’m sure many other players around the GTASF would love to see Hamilton step up and get better but when your own community players are dawging the rest when they’re in no place to be doing it changes things. You want to run your mouth, why don’t you start winning consistently over the top guys in your own community first. You want to help people step up, then give them advice, don’t dog them because you happen to beat a bunch of guys who aren’t up to your mediocre level.

Easy there turbo. I don’t recall Nam telling anyone how good they were. I do recall him telling Vince to come out and play SF if he wants to get better. That sounds pretty reasonable to me. And even if you do say he was talking trash, it wasn’t anything that other folks on this exact board hadn’t already said. Either way, I don’t think it deserved such an emotionally charged response as the one quoted above.
And about Rey being our best player? I’m sure that’s true, but I’m personally sick of everyone else going on and on about it. Vanny brags more about Rey’s skills than even Rey does himself. At least Nam has the courage to say that he’s gonna go to Mohawk to stop Rey from getting huge streaks. With the “It doesn’t matter who goes to Mohawk, Rey will own everyone.” attitude, you’ll psych yourself out into believing that no matter what you do, you will lose, and that’s worse than being over-confident, IMO. Give Nam some slack, at least he’s got guts.

Justin’s comments to Nam though are just a challenge to step up…you know, just like how Nam is challenging Vince to step up. So, well…don’t take it so personally and just step up… :tup: In my opinion, Nam is good. Justin does tell the truth on one matter though…he’s got to be a lot better than say he was at the last CvS2 tourney at EG when he got rocked by John’s Morrigan IIRC. Out of all the people in Hamilton, I’d say Nam quite possibly has the most potential…that potential hasn’t been proven yet though so I could be full of shit… He’s definitely one of the best at 3S in Hamilton…
Nam may be cocky sometimes but I don’t think there’s anything wrong with that and I don’t think he should change for anyone…if anything it makes the Hamilton scene more interesting.
You know there is a good point here really. To be honest if people want to start competing seriously against Rey, they need to stop with the “oh, I’m not as good as Rey” and just start stepping up their game against him. Might be better if you start playing Rey with the attitude of “I’m gonna beat him down” rather than “man, its this stupid Rey guy that’s gonna smoke me for free”
I think its also pretty weak though that people seem more concerned with how Vanny allegedly kisses Rey’s ass instead of thinking of how to improve their game against Rey.

In anycase, we need to take you out to pacific one day and throw you up against some of the regulars there, or out for UN so that you can see how you fair against some REAL competition. Like i said to you before, you didnt’ go to T5 and you haven’t had a chance to see whats out there yet. I’m sure it’ll change your outlook on your game and help you improve.
