Haha, welcome to RC 101…where you think you can win by RC’in all your moves. Then you get peaced out wondering what happened. Then you learn when to rc and not to rc.
btw, ppl can throw you out of both RC and non-rc if you’re just doing them at random. If you’re talking about wake up, then yea, you can try to mix that up, but then either way, you get pushed out, then they can run away or something.
The reason you don’t see japs get thrown out of rc electricity is because they don’t do it at random when the opponenet’s close. And it’s the japanese play style…notice whenever they build meter with electricity they are usually a full screen away? The only other time they do it is just in poke range, by whiffing cr.lk to bait out a poke, then punish with the rc.electricity.
To be honest, when they’re a full screen away, i dont’ think they even rc it anymore…since it becomes slower…they want that bar more often.

Well, the matches I’ve seen, they will do the electricity on their opponent’s wakeups 80% of the time (by rc’ing the electricity, not rc’ing it, or rc’ing it, then mashing the punches).
If they mix it up like that, it’s insanely difficult to counter it
It’s like, guaranteed damage (block or not), especially in the corner, they know the risk/reward ratio and they will take the risk for the reward. It’s that simple.
Oh, and whiffing cr.lk/st.lp to bait out pokes is not entirely safe, 'cause if an opponent anticipate it (not falling for the baits), and if they react fast enough, they can hit you out of the electricity recovery frames (worst case is being supered or CC’ed as a result).
I’ve seen that happened PLENTY of times.
Some do, some don’t.
All I know is, it’s a great way to warm up your fingers.

Hmm…we must be watching different matchs…i’ve been watching the latest batch with Daigo, bas mago, and the cast…(daigo was using honda/blanka/bison iirc)…there was alot of hibiki’s as well.
From those matches, they whore cr.lk, rc electricity. The mix up they do is either whiff or meaty cr.lk, then…
- cr.lk whiffs, RC Electricity…oppnonent blocks because they thought the cr.lk was meaty.
- cr.lk whiffs, jump up :hk: and pressure, or combo, baiting out throw attempts because you thought they were going to whiff -> electricity.
- cr.lk is blocked meaty, you RC electricity, opponent’s gotta block cause they’re already blocking.
- cr.lk is blocked meaty, you tick throw.
- hit or whiff, hop back to escape any punishment, then counter accordingly.
- the mentioned cr.lk whiff to bait out pokes and counter with rc electricity.
You don’t do it all the time, you mix it up and do it at random. plus this is where the mind game kicks in…
they have to react to the cr.lk, as in attempt to psychic punish. so you can instead do nothing…they pull out some dp or something, and you combo them back. It doesn’t get much safer with blanka when you hold downback.
See what i’m saying…it’s sorta working on you already (i think). when i said cr.lk, rc electricity, you expect me to do that over and over. everytime you see cr.lk, you’re going to try and do something to punish. I expect that, and do nothing and punish. now i’m free to mix you up everytime i hit cr.lk. am i rc’in? doing nothing? moving in for a jump in? I’m making you second guess. All off one cr.lk. no complex button presses to mix up, just one simple move. and it’s not risky at all. When was the last time you see something punish cr.lk on purpose?
Just think, I wrote this long ass post, with so much mix up with cr.lk, isn’t that much better than 50/50 mix up (that doesn’t really put on any pressure)?
btw…alot of characters can punish rc electricity with supers…especially if you don’t keep the thing going (ie, mash a couple of more times.) So you have to commit as soon as you knockdown.

…just that you went into more detail w/ the mixups…that other 20% I’ve mentioned, is, like, whiffing the cr.lk/st.lp to go for the throw or whiffing them to bait out moves, etc., etc.
So we’re basically on the same boat.
Most of them aren’t going to be fooled by this, they’re going to react to the electricity, not the cr.lk.
They have the patience to wait and look for it.
If someone cr.lk, then rc-elec (whiffing both of them to bait out attacks), he’s gonna get punished a lot of the times.
They’re not going to do something foolish after a cr.lk whiffs, most of the time they will sit there and wait for an opening.
It’s not as safe as you might think.
Actually, nothing in this game is entirely safe.
Except for maybe Honda’s RC-360…
