Halo Reach: Always Out Numbered But Never Out Gunned

I KNOW!!! I kept waiting for banshee’s and shit to be coming at them, but noooooo

it’s like if Return of the Sith ended with the opening scene of A New Hope, only there’s no star destroyer chasing after Leia

When did the Covies get ahold of Spartan Tech?

That’s what they told the public to boost moral.

Actually when they jump in the book, the Covies don’t show up for few moments. But I agree with what you are saying, it would have been way more interesting. I just think the whole ending was kind of rushed.

I expected big things from him, he is the Spartan with an attitude, I was hoping he’d break out some killer kung fu techniques after being jumped on by those elites (watch
look how the Spartans fight in Halo Wars (maybe Spartan 2 are that much better)
Then theres Tex from Red Vs. Blue - ) This is what I was hoping from Emile and “Hyper Lethal” Nobel Six)

That was sick, tricking people like that with the holo is too funny. Armour lock in the right hands is a beast.

I think he is making an assumption, only Emile and Nobel 6 were left behind with the covenant. But the Spartan 3 tech is nothing compared to what the Covies have anyway, as far as I’m aware it was the humans that stole the covie tech to begin with. In the book Fall of Reach, MC manages to get hold of a plasma shield which they later use to develop and improve the MJOLNIR

Not really, in halo ODST and also 3 there where pieces of the campaign that seemed impossible and took me forever.

with reach this wasn’t the case.
I finished it fairly quick compared to 3/ODST.

Yeah, this still pisses me off to this day. Spartans are trained in like all forms of combat, and are complete badasses. I remember the Halo Legends movie upset me cuz the Spartans there just basically shoot stuff, and never do any flips, or crazy sticks, or badass action sequences.

One of the things u aim for in ANY fps, is killing as fast as you can. The longer it takes u to kill somebody, the better chance that person has of getting backup to take u out. And AL does that. Makes a battle long enough that it’s just not safe to chill around waiting for a guys AL to burnout.

Seriously, sprinting is for start of rounds when you need weapons/vehicles.
Jetpack has its uses
invisible isn’t bad, but I can honestly say I’ve never died because I was surprised by a camo fucker
bubble shield is a fucking terrible joke
dodge isn’t bad either but have still no AL

I’ve yet to have any of the other abilities really help me in a 2 on 1 situation…meanwhile with AL, I have actually killed 2 fuckers trying to take my ass out.

Actually, it’s a bit of each. Spartan technology itself is actually more advanced than Covenant tech (which is just stolen forerunner tech that they barely comprehend). Yeah, they steal a jackal shield to make the shields on their armor, but later on a Covenant Engineer rebuilds Johns suit to save him (Engineer’s aren’t actually covenant, they were found on Forerunner sites, and were presumably created by them to fix shit), and they have to shoot it in the face to avoid Spartan technology from falling in the hands of the Covenant. Then you play this game, and the end of the game is some elites fucking your world up. Pretty sure after they stabbed your ass to death, they’d just take your armor and BAM. Suddenly all the spartans gadgets can be fucked with.

the only snag on ODST i had was the psychic wraith at the end of mickey’s mission

then i found out you can give dutch a rocket launcher and he wrecks everyone’s shit

then again, alot of problems in the campaign can be solved by giving npcs power weapons

Im starting to really like hologram, if i can just get people off by one shot im always out DMRing them and hologram lets you do that if your sneaky.

I noticed its potential when I sniped on this one map (forget the name, it has the sniper under a tree?). Just sent it out and watched people shoot it, free kills all day. I just don’t like staying in one place for too long and prefer the faster layouts like sprint or jetpack.

You’re making an assumption here. The fact that Reach was glassed right after the Autumn left and Six’s Helmet is still there pretty much means they didn’t take it with them. Spartan III tech isn’t that impressive anyway.

Funny enough that Engineer that got shot probably ended up living in the long run since it’s been shown that other engineers can bring eachother back to life.

As for no covies in the very end bit with the Autumn floating to the ring…that shits such a minor fucking detail. Like I get what you’re saying and all and it would have been neat but still…ruins the whole ending? BS.

not quite an assumption. You only see the helmet. That shit gets tossed halfway through your gauntlet of elites. And there are still MANY other opportunities. The books always made it sound like the covenant showed up, and glassed shit right quick.

naaa it was by itself, and I think it was the admiral that shot that fucker and just ditched the body. It’s still dead, no doubts lol

it would have worked if this truly WAS the first game. But it wasn’t. Instead its a slap in the face to all who played the first Halo. Bungie wanted a cinematic scene of the Autumn floating to a Halo Ring…but sadly, I didnt want that. Mainly because I had ALREADY SEEN WHAT REALLY HAPPENED.

The last two major halo’s have essentially been either firefights or races. Why can’t I fight some sort of boss?

I find the bubble sheild really useful in objective, especially flag defence.

Its so nice for getting people to waste rockets too, i wish there was a medal for that because i would have 80 in the week that ive been rocking hologram.

Good trick I’ve found so far everyone using rockets that I’ve gone up against has fallen for. Run up to them, when they fire the rockets activate the shield, let the rocket hit then release. If they haven’t killed themselves already, they always fire the 2nd round immediately so you don’t have to even wait to see if they fire just activate the shield again, then spray them with bullets, melee and teabag.

Yea you only see the helmet so you’re making the assumption they took the body which is more on the ends of highly unlikly.

Yea it was by itself but hey something could have come by later. I’m simply saying shooting it in the head doesn’t mean it stayed dead. You’re probably right tho.

As for slap in the face for not having covie ships show up right away? Gimmy a break. You sound like a drama queen. You’re turning a minor discrepency into a kick in the balls and it’s laughable.

Wow just seen a Brigadier Grade 3 :wtf:

i’ve seen some forums post links to profiles sporting General Grade 4, which is 2,650,000 cR

still saving my cR for that gold visor

i heard bungie has said that after how un-fun tartarus was in halo 2, they’re not gonna make anything even close to a hard boss fight

hence why even on legendary, Spark is the easiest part of the last level in Halo 3

Tartarus wasn’t that hard.

Haven’t played with anyone from SRK in awhile, anyone up for a game tonight PM on xboxlive

Black ops multiplayer is so fucking addictive its hard to get back on halo. Hit me up.

Tartarus was un-fun cuz he was just a regular brute, with a hammer, and a fuckton of health. I want giant bosses. I wanted to fight gravemind, not have him magically end up dead like the fucking Kraken in Pirates of the Carribean. Hell, fighting the Prophet was at least fun (kinda).

Anything is better than just having every level be a race to the end, like we’re playing Doom or some shit. The only thing missing is the button to hit at the end of each level. Or having the last level just be a fucking race to the end, with a vehicle.
