Yeah I was thinking that myself. I’ll play around with the settings in order to try and minimize that distortion as much as possible. In the meantime maybe I’ll just audio swap a couple of the clips with some “Ode to Joy” or something lol
aaaaaaaaaaaOH MY GOD MY EARS!!!
LOL. My apologies fellas. I managed to find a way to minimize the distortion so you should be able to watch the clips without having to mash on the mute button
I uplaoded a ton of new Hakan matches for you guys to dissect so as per usual constructive feedback is always welcome.
Hakan vs. Rose

If any of you run into additional problems with the audio please let me know.
It still seems to be “too loud” and thus causes the crackling. What recording software/hardware do you use? Do you do any editing or upload it as the raw footage you recorded?
anyone have blanka footage? I have no idea how to fight blanka, even one who just does blanka ball all day…I think the only reason i’ve beat blanka is he didn’t realize to move away from a grappler after knockdown
you can punish horzontal balls with slide, you can punish all of his rolling attacks pretty heavily… rainbow roll can be hit with slide or f. mp xx slide. Vertical ball you can have fun with the punishment.
his ground pokes arent anything overly scary for hakan, your basic pokes like mp cr. mp and f. lk/mk all work in the matchup and keep him spaced.
I just stay patient and try to keep him spaced out and out of his crossup range ( his crossups are very ambiguos and make this matchup hard if you let him get in ).
Now that im thinking about it f. mp would be good against j. mk crossups. I wonder if it would lose to meaty crossups though.

I won’t comment on outcome of the matches yet as they’re quite exciting, suffice to say you should watch.
Three Hakan videos here, starting from 8 minute mark.
isan_4 (10,000BP Hakan) vs. Rose (8000BP) – this match is fucking amaaaaaazing
kinyoubi vs. blanka – regular match
kinyoubi vs. Claw – Last round is fucking AWESOME.

that guy is making great use out of fuzzy guard setups.
Nice vids again, as usual, but if I may, I would suggest looking into your deinterlacing issues.
You could probably tweak your capture/encoding settings and really clean up the video? Not sure what you’re using exactly, and it’s definitely watchable as is, just making a suggestion.
DSP HAKAN MADNESS
worst Hakan and worst SF player.
Well I have a Gigaware converter device and my Xbox 360 hooked up to an S-Video switch which is connected directly to the microphone port on my laptop. For the capture software encoder options my sound compressor settings are at Windows Media 10 pro while my sound format is at 400 kbps, 44 kHz, 2 channel 24 and I’m saving them as WMV files. So far this has produced the best results, however if you have any advice for me in regards to these settings please let me know. Here’s my most recent reupload:

While the sound effects are slightly out of sync thanx to Youtube I think the sound quality may be slightly improved. Let me know how it sounds on your end.
Evo tourney results would like a word with you.
I can’t say I know what you’re using, sounds kinda complex but I suspect the reason the sound is too loud and crackly is because you’re using the mic port. I have some cheapo capture card and my TV has a scart port that allows output, so it’s a simple case of using the right scart plug connected to the TV and the capture card
You might want to look into getting an ahem copy of Sony Vegas Pro, excellent for video editing but can’t really comment about video capture 'cause it doesn’t seem to like my capture card
Oh i’m well aware of his Super Turbo track record but that’s about it really. Since SFIV he has very little to show for. " Oh yeah right i wasn’t doing anything!!!1!!" that line never gets old.
can anyone help me cecipher this method of doing walking 720’s?

He’s using numeric inputs and it just looks like a math problem to me. gracias.
In the case of the Hakan example, he’s starting at down-back, rolling to down-forward and hitting c.LK, then continuing to circle around through forward, up, back, down, and to forward, then he walks for a few frames, finally spinning the opposite direction, from forward, to down, to back, ending at up-back + PPP.
Edit: In arrow notation, it’s :db::d::df:+LK,:r::uf::u::ub::l::db::d::df::r:, walk for a couple frames, then :df::d::db::l::ub:+PPP
I will definitely look into it thanks for the tip I triggered the noise suppressor feature in the sound manager so the audio, while not perfect, is less distorted.
Some uploads from today:
Hakan vs. Makoto (This was a really good match)

Hakan vs. Ryu

Hey longshot, if you want us to give you tips (assuming they’re helping), you gotta show vids of you playing different people. Not to knock on “guywithswords” too much, but I was playing a Viper earlier who sucked ass, but at least knew not to jump on me when I had a loaded U2. Guywithswords needs to get his fundamentals down and specialize in one character. I think his Mak is good. Don’t think I ever saw any ultra use out of the other characters he played - especially when you were asking for it.
Aside from that, you’re making better use of footsies. I liked that blocked slide DNC into f.MK. I usually do jab or backdash cuz I’m too scared of reversals. I need to be on “the receiving end” more to know what a player might be thinking after a blocked slide. I would say one would be most likely expecting a free combo, or have to tech, or rarely the possibility of getting thrown. When DNC enters the picture, it seems like they’d be in a temporary state of confusion, and therefore you’d have the upper hand in some aspect.
And call me a scrub, but I almost never do jump in combos to slide. I need to attempt that more. I just tend to think that everything is going to get blocked, and either that could mess with my timing, or they don’t block low and get hit by c.MK, so I’m basically in the dark about whether slide will combo, and I hate burning meter for 50-80 damage (+c.MK damage) just to hold onto my life lead.
What the real paradox is; the jump in combo I do is jump whatever, s.LP(x1/2/3), s.MP. When the links aren’t properly timed, it can turn out just as bad as a blocked slide… I guess I just need to acknowledge the difference between yellow and blue…
