Hakan Video Thread: Ready for Action!

That Hakan needs to go to EVO. Whatever it takes.

liked the jump ins out of normal grab range-> oil rocket.

DDT when the opponent is downed to escape the corner is genius, although considering that you get panicky when cornered (too many mashed jabs, too many random slides), I’m not sure you meant to use it like that. You could be doing more to antiair against Dudley; toward+jab deals with jump rh from a distance and st fierce when it’s right on top of you. I’d like to see antiair focus dnc. You ran away when oiled several times, which I thought was strange. You did some very unsafe oils too, since Dudley can punish random oils with ex mgb very well into big damage and bad corner positioning. Nice game, though.

Very true. Probably one of my biggest issues is making the proper decisions when cornered. I definitely panic especially when playing online due to not being able to rely on teching grabs as consistently as I should. With meter it’s a bit easier because I can go for those slide FADC knock down attempts but without 2 bars it gets pretty tough. Maybe need to use standing/fwd + standing short more and/or fwd + standing jab and of course anti air focus DNC like you pointed out. Something I’ll be working on for sure.

Not much experience against good Dudley’s at all. Putting in some heavy lab work against that and other matchups that I’m not entirely comfortable with yet. Also trying to get the spacing down on safe slides and meaty slides in order to generate a bit more offense. Yeah those oils were unsafe for sure but in that situation it was risk I was willing to take in order to apply some DNC mixup pressure. While it worked out for me in that particular match I won’t be relying on that too often.

On occasion I’ll back up after an oil up for a couple of reasons. Just to play it safe if I feel that the execution was a bit late and therefore punishable. I also try to anticipate a forward jump in attempt by my opponent after they see me oil up especially after I’ve nailed them a couple of times with oil rockets and DDT’s, part of the mind games involved with Hakan’s overall game. And sometimes I’ll back up just to create some space between myself and my downed opponent in order to apply some mid ranged DNC pressure. Strats such as these are still a work in progress which is why your input is very much appreciated.

Quick Edit: A couple more matches before I head out to yet another BBQ (moar ribs plz).

Enjoy the rest of your weekend guys.

Love these videos, keep em coming! =D

you serious? his super has 3 different modes? I just been doing LK T-T

K, got some more uploads, I’m not really liking my new capture device. Oh well.

Vs Chun:

As stated before, I really hate Chun-Li. I’ve gotten somewhat better at the matchup, but I still get raped. Also, at 1:13, I don’t know wtf I was doing. Rofl

Vs Sagat:

I kinda like this matchup. Anyway, I did the same retarded focus crumple fuckup (or it may have been a whiffed TU punish, not sure). Once again, not sure what I was thinking. However, I hope this exemplifies Hakan’s godly mixup game.

Of course, tips are appreciated. Especially for Chun-Li. Fucking Chun-Li.

that chun match was bs! hate chun now

Got some new vids. I’m always uploading vids if your interested in subscribing. I’ll try to make the matches 3rounds instead of 5 ad they are to long and can get tiring

Hakan vs Juri (this is actually a friend of mine got a vid of him owning me as well)

@ liquigen

Best thing you can do to improve is to stop pushing so many buttons and just block and watch their patterns, that chun li kept hitting you with crossups and I couldn’t figure out why they were hitting you, looked like you were pressing buttons for some reason when getting up since they were counterhitting you. Then if you blocked his lightning legs or hazanshu he would always sweep, and it would always counterhit you cause you’re pressing buttons. Those sweeps are very punishable with FADC. After round 1 as I was watching the video I was saying “sweep” in my head and had a 95 percent success rate on predicting when that dude would low hk. If you just relax and watch and block, you can pick up better on patterns during combat. Even the best players have them.

Chun is really really hard for hakan but you should beat guys like that guy for free, he was really really bad.

Yeah, I suppose your right. I tried to get some normals out there after the legs or haz thinking I could punish, but I didn’t exactly realize Chun’s sweep was so godly yet. Looks like I do have to be much more patient though. Thanks for tips, bro.

I’ve uploaded new videos on my channel : http://www.youtube.com/user/ellebestio

Like Dias4Flac I’m always uploading vids if your interested in subscribing. My Hakan is getting better but I’ve got a lot of stuff to work on (when oiled tick throw 2LK*n to 360P for example, learn to use the super, using the focus attack more often, learn to be more patient versus “charging characters” and so on…).

if I play a Cammy that does a lot of cannon rolls or whatever they call her horizontal attack I find neutral jump HK is a good way to punish it but there might be better ways

Yes sir. Hakan’s RH Flying Oil Spin counters ALL projectile moves including Supers and Ultras. Fwd version counters ALL grabs so mixups such as early jump in to bait counter grabs followed by the super does work. LK version counters most, not all, physical attacks including Rufus’s Ultra 2 and Gief’s Lariat. One of the better supers in the game IMO.

Let me also add that Hakan can trade standing fierce with Chun’s jumpin short and fwd kicks in his favor while low RH seems to counter her jumping RH clean. Slight guessing game here but not too bad if you can read your opponent. Use jumping strong, fierce and RH to establish AA dominance and try not to oil up too much or you’ll eat her super/ultra. Also if your opponent is pounding you with Hazanshu’s (HCB + K) a well timed standing strong will stuff it clean. Still a tough fight but very winnable for Hakan.

Dias4Flac, my boy beat with you with Hakan yet you don’t put the vids of him or myself beating you…?

In a laggy ass match. No beef though.

more motivation

Didn’t realize you put up our other match. What do you use to record???

and I’m kind of glad you did this. I can examine what went wrong when you beat me

Yeah. Tooserius doesn’t have any beef with you. I know the guy personally. He is still learning the match up against our oily friend. His Ryu is still learning the Hakan match up but his Balrog can really put a hurtin on our oily wrestler from Turkey. Just try jumping and you’ll see what I mean. You Hakan is good but next time don’t you think it would be nice if you asked his permission before posting up a match?

Claw vs Hakan, 20 minutes of footage. I believe the Hakan player is Kinyoubi, who is near the top of the Hakan rankings on PS3

worth watching, i actually learned something from a video of a hakan match for once.

EDIT: He obviously didn’t take advantage of that oil though
