i think you guys are mistaking Oil Coaster For Oil Combination Hold
Combination hold is the anti-air one and coaster is the one where he spins them around his waist

Oil Combination Hold seems like the go to for Hakan, plus you can still land it after a Focus Crumple (don’t even need to dash!), which is always good.
Playing as dudley vs hakan, just a few things:
Dudley can punish you from almost fullscreen the oil-up with EX machinegun blow.
Dudleys sweep beats clean hakans 360 AND Oil coaster (the 720)
Hakan is pretty free on wakeup because even if he is a grappler you can jump straight or sweep the 360s and he doesnt have lariat or condor srk like zangief or thawk, the anti air throw wont grab you if you jump straight up.
360 without oil are TERRIBLE, it has almost no range.
However, if you oil up, the matchup changes drastically. When oiled, hakan has one of the best footsies in the game and his 360 and 50/50 are scary. Its clear that all the gampelay of the character is going to revolve aroung being oiled 24/7. If you manage to oil up and get dudley knowcked down, you can easily steal the round in seconds.

I look forward to those hard battles too, i could never play a character if i have too easy a time you know? Also want to try fighting dry (No oil) for a couple of games now and then.
Love this oiling up thing though, one of the reasons i liked chin in KOF 2002 (2002 right?) was because you needed to take a drink to pull off special moves XD
Ultra selection is probably gonna be about whether your opponent likes to jump or be on offense or else play defense, I would think. If he wants to jump or play offense, probably go for combination for antiair and trap purposes. If he wants to play defense, we’ll probably want the 720 ultra to help break his wall.

I agree. I already assumed that Ultra 2 (the anti-air) might not be as useful against turtle characters, Ex: Honda, Dhalsim (unsure), Seth, etc. I am unsure about Dhalsim, because I don’t know if his j.HP would activate Hakan’s Ultra 2. Even if it does, I’m sure it’d be easy for Dhalsim to work around. Therefore, I assume that Ultra 1 will be our hope for the best.
I forgot, were enemies able to jump during the animation for his Ultra 1’s grab in any build? Of course, this could change in the final, but just curious if it grabs immediately.
OCH would probably work great against buttslams, then again you COULD probably just punish it on block with Oil Coaster. I sure hope that his Oil Coaster isn’t completely useless (that you can jump or counter after the flash).
Wan’t it said that even honda’s head butt will activate that ultra? I thought Tiger knees and psycho crushers were on that list too
Pretty sure any of those moves that end above Hakan’s body activate Ultra 2.

but i heard oil coaster does more damage
it was alos reported that his oil coaster grab has the same properties as giefs FAB

Really i would probably go with Oil Coaster since it does more damage and there’s too great a chance of combination hold whiffing
I can somewhat agree, though I’d be pretty sure that people are going to whiff with his Ultra 1 a lot more than they plan to, usually by overestimating their grabbing distance.
However, I think I remember hearing that being oiled up increases his 360/720 range massively. In that case, I’d think that his 720 would be more useful than I originally thought. Ex Oil Up -> eat a fireball -> 720 the unlucky guy. ;D
