it ACTUALLY came from akuma’s strong wakeup game and his ability to trap you after a wakeup and keep you down. Where you have to guess everytime you’re waking up to not get knocked down again. Gief has a similar system where he has many options to keep you down.
also, i’m guessing that one of Hakan’s Command normals or a cr.fp might be a decent AA. I wish they’d show off all his normals so we can really see what they all look like. It’s really annoying that everyone only uses his specials. We know he has grabs! i wanna see his footsie potential.
well I heard its not a 2 frame grab, its actually kind of slow. Maybe I heard wrong but if its like Honda or Abel speed its not gonna be used to reverse pressure or frame traps.
As far as AA goes, have you seen his regular standing hp? 2 hits, can connect both in front of him, and directly over his head. It also hits from a mile away. It’s like Honda’s chop but better. Not to mention if some guy just does a focus in front of you, you can spam this out and break his focus armor.
My main concern is just seeing what combos he’ll have at this point. Abel has his rekka combos, Gief has his jabs into short kick xx EX green hand etc. I’m not sure anyone has really demonstrated real combos for Hakan yet. We know he can chain more normals when oiled, but do we know if anything combos into slide, for example?

What’s your implication? It’s their culture. It might seem strange looking with western eyes but there’s some pretty decent grappling moves in there. I’d like to see you try to get out of some of those holds - and I’d promise not to laugh.
Hakan’s ability to move around while charging up his focus attack is still in! Devblog even states that this is the “number one” benefit of being oiled up. I still find it funny that no one who got a chance to try out the final build noticed this awesome ability.
So basically Hakan gets a raging boner with all the oil he pours on himself? No wonder he has so many children. I rather main his wife, she has to be top tier after that.
