I wonder this too. IF it can be blocked then it is not entirely bad as it is a mix-up between jumping and blocking.
Jumping-he can do Ultra.
Blocking- he can do Grab or EX Grab and Oil Up.
Shoryuken on wakeup is a gamble tho. I don’t think EX shoryu is gonna beat that Ultra. ALot of priority.
But shoryuken on wakeup will defeat the grab attempt however.
i don’t think it can since its kinda like a grab and if you touch him you get ultra’d (i’m guessing your talking about ultra 2). I think one way tou’ll be able to set up his ultra 2 is, his grab that shoots them away, the short range one, FADC, dash forward, ultra

Maybe I’m misunderstanding you guys, but to me it clearly looks like the Ibuki player decides after a second to jump away from Hakan’s Ultra since he fears the unknown, and the Ultra catches Ibuki BECAUSE she jumped.

Kinda glad he turned out to be a daughter making family man, actually. The whole gay thing would have been a little too much for us to digest on top of his current strangeness.

I haven’t read the Hakan thread yet, but from what I can tell after watching the videos.
Hakan starts a match with a little oil.
Oil Up is a mash input, so I think either based on what the 5th input is you get more/less oil, or the longer you mash, the more oil you get. Oil only goes away with time, it getting hit does not seem to reduce it’s duration. After oil up, his movement ranges for increase. Backdash after oil goes about half screen and his or maybe shoots forward further. Same with his slip-n-slide move, which looks amazing for projectile avoidance. Follow up for slip-n-slide is a mash?
Jumping looks great for both air to air and jumping in, it reminds me of Honda’s jumping
Oh my god, Oil Coaster (Ultra I) does a shit load of damage. (about 1/4 or 2/5 of Ibuki’s health)
Oil Combination Hold (Ultra II) looks like it’s an active hit box for a long time, not a counter. In one video Ibuki was just standing next to him and it hit.
What I am assuming is his (squeeze grab) doesn’t do much damage compared to SPD, but looks like a perfect set up for oil up. Also, characters get shot out at different angles depending on which gets pressed. Ex does not look like it has armor.
It looks like he has a ducking command like blanka.
His looks like it is very fast.
He has an dash-jump grab that is similar to his super.
His super jumps forward.

Glad to see Hakan is getting some love, honestly i’m really impressed with the character and i just can’t say it enough. The entire knockdown oil up mechanic is scary good. Also his back dash is impressive. Definitely a fun character.
I like how all his moves are “accidents” because he’s so oily.
I love his “Where’d you go?” expression after they slip out of his bear hug!
