Random info: hakan’s u2 gets beat by abel’s u2. He can pick you up off the ground so beware that.
I see, that’s very amazing! I apologize though.
Edit: Yeah but what about other grabs? Do those cancel out the U2?
Here’s some good stuff:

Other grabs I’m not sure of. Kinda curious about akuma’s u1 since it sorta floats but is a grab…
Tested it out. Akuma just keeps on on floating( doing the move) and pushing Hakan. Therefore, nothing happens.
Yea man, I think u2 didnt catch Adons FA but thats borderline insanity. I was fighting a Juri and on my wakeup I did u2. I have no idea what they did. haha. Juri stood next to me and I didnt hear or see any movement or moves used, just, woop!
takin a ride on the slip n slide
not sure if this has been discussed. I’m sure it has so I’m late probably but after a forward throw. You can hardpunch slide over to the opponent and 360grab them on there wake up. It stops normal grabs and normals (cept DP ofcourse) works best when oiled if not oiled your have to do a EX 360 grab.
you can also just do nothing too course or if you think there backdash slide again (not sure if that catches backdashes)
I’ve discovered this tonight and been having some good success with it. Also cr.mp seems like a good poke. Been using it today after watching a vid of another Hakan player using it and its been working pretty well so I’m using f+lp,cr.mp,back.hp as my main pokes. (f+mp and cr.mk are good too and they option select)
Yea, cr.Mp/f.Mp are two of my favortie pokes with Hakan, and especially DNC with F.Mp. Carries you so far across the screen. A trick I’ve used to some success is DNC f.MP into oil rocket/dive if they block the MP (which they usually do when I throw it out), and the grab comes out so fast that it usually catches them.
Thanks to UltraDavid for the vids and everyone for this thread. Hakan is bananas awesome.
Anyways, I was playing around with coward crouch (CC) tonight and wanted to post some findings, sorry no video. It was late when I started, hopefully I can do more tests tomorrow (and hopefully I am not completely wrong, :bgrin:)
-CC can serve as an oddly timed buffer for U1 or command grab, but you need to tap down and 3p then return to neutral and buffer the 360/720 while he is in the act of standing, otherwise the additional down input keeps him grounded.
-CC has situational “front half of body” invincibility (think from his head to just below his sternum while he is laying on the ground) for many non-crossup jump-ins and many crouching normals, I only really tested a little with Guile (and Ryu’s c.mk) Guiles c.lp, c.mp, c.lk all completely whiff; c.mk whiffs unless Guiles boot hits below hakan’s sternum area, same with c.hk. Ryu’s c.mk stuffs CC wherever it hits, while Guile’s similar looking kick had to be pretty deep to hit. It seems that there will be a very long list of everyones normals and how the interact with CC.
-It is possible to CC and buffer Ultra (or EX-360) against a jump in, but I didn’t test very deeply. I set Ryu to do a j.hk, c.lpx2, c.mp 4 hit combo. I then CC’ed the j.hk and buffered Ultra to catch before the c.lps hit; worked fine. Same with a jump in j.hk, c.mp xx FB; the j.hk was avoided and caught with U1 and EX-360. This combo can also be CC’ed a bit longer to avoid the j.hk and c.mp entirely and negate the buffered FB.
-I will test more for sure, as I am hoping it can be used after slides or DNC in an additional source of grab mix-ups and reversal baiting. I may start a thread with an ongoing list if it is deemed thread worthy.
Decided to check it when I woke up

Wow, good work there. Bad news for Hakan unfortunately. That range was too good to be true.
I don’t get what you’re trying to tell me here? He very clearly leaps forward, yes, this should be obvious but…use EX SPD? It also is very easily thrown in my experiences…
good findig!! SAD for Hakan
There is no distinction between SPD “having bigger range” and “having a 3 frame auto-dash on startup”. That’s like saying “Does Tiger Uppercut have a big vertical hitbox? Or does it really just have a 5 frame auto-jump during its startup?” They are one and the same. When Ryu jabs Hakan out of the SPD, he is just jabbing him out of the start of the move, which is 3 frames long. I don’t think anything special is going on.
Take Zangief’s LP SPD for example. He doesn’t move forward when he does it, or more precisely he doesn’t extend his hittable area. So from the max range, short-range attacks like jabs cannot reach him, but the SPD reaches the opponent because it has large range.
EXACTLY and that explain why Hakans 720 got beaten by some normals and specials where Zangiefs would not ! he moves inside the range of the opponent during the startup! even if its just one frame!
can someone test this with blankas Electricity?
and thats why i thought EX 360 DO NOT HAFE invincibility… it seems the Dash is not complete invincible you can punish it on range but point blank its save!
Hey fellow Greasers. I haven’t had a chance to play recently, but I was curious if anybody has gone for sweep, crossover mindgame into either Rocket or Oil.
I was theorizing, that on wake-up, even very good players might want to jump away from you to avoid grabs. Considering that, a Hakan player might find it a good idea to just oil up in this scenario, since Dive and Slide are both pretty risky to counter their back jump, and Hakan doesn’t have anything faster or with better reach to get them otherwise.
You are mistaken about the U1 and EX360.
Edit: Nevermind, watched the video again and the clouds parted and sunshine poured in.
Good work but too bad for Hakan. That explains a lot of things that have been going on when I play.
Nope. Hakan’s U2 is 100% invincible on active frames. He caught you during the recovery.
