Hakan + Combos = Hakanbos!

I love me some counter hit combos. I need to test if there’s a good set up based on counter hit for oiled Rocket or Dive

Hakan’s s.MP is almost as godlike as Zangief’s s.MP, just slightly more start-up and a little less range. I guess a lot of his normals are comparable to other grapplers, but that can be saved for another thread, for some reason.

@DHEvil: I’m not sure what “Crisco” precisely denotes, and if it’s any different from DNC. If it’s no different, then to me, it’s just a combo that starts or depends on using forward dash. so f.MP FADC f.MP xx slide could be crisco. but I think meterless FA1 DNC f.HK could be crisco too. It’s just that there’s no way to link cancelable normals together without burning some meter.

I can test that for you, Met. I’m stuck in Illinois with very few options for anything, so all I have is trials and training mode. Will do.

That being said, if anything else needs testing I’ll get on it.

Some more Counter-Hit Hakanbos:

s.HK, s.LP, s.MP (close distance)

s.MK, s.MP, s.LP, s.MP (close distance)

s.MK, f.MK (good for oiled tick throw)

You don’t even have to dash ^^

CH Standing Fierce (second hit), standing jab/strong (Works best against Rog ex dash punches)
Meaty Fwd + standing Fierce, Fwd + standing short or low short when oiled

Anybody willing to compile the safe / meaty slide set-ups and post them here? The meaty slides are great for U1 set-ups, and I’d like to know more.

EX SPD > dash forward > lp slide is meaty, I think?

You can do “unoiled lv.3 FA xx Dash forward -> LK Oil -> c.LK” for a free oil and reset.

Is there a list of good blockstrings/frametraps for Hakan? I could really use some help applying normals pressure that won’t get me reversal’d.

well there’s always attack sequences/uncombos, but Hakan doesn’t have any blocked attacks that leave him 100% safe. s.lp is pretty good as far as that goes.

Well, that’s just dandy.

Currently I use 2 or 3 st.lk’s depending on whether I’m point blank or not, st.mp, f+mp then f+mk as a ghetto “blockstring”, which I will interrupt to block, SPD or DDT at any point.

It’s not getting me very far.

I suppose you could try using Guard Position AKA Coward Crouch, to avoid a reversal that could knock you out of oiled SPD range.

Oh what am I thinking? He does have REAL block strings after focus attacks on block DNC’d into c.LK when oiled. I did some quick testing right now, and you can safely FA1DNC c.MK even. f.MP isn’t reversal safe, unless it’s a blocked FA2.

I actually use focus attack DNC a lot for applying pressure so that’s funny I didn’t think to mention it at first.

just a simple question it seems for me that hakan could hafe a option select combo can anybody confirm it?

standing mp–>c.mk fast c.lk–> Slide+bodypress buffered with LP

as faar as it goes for me i get the combo on counterhit and without counterhit i get mp–>c.lk–>f+lp so it seems for me a REAL Breat and Butter !!

can anybody confirm this PLS!!

Is hit freeze different on CH? I can’t see how you can get c.LK instead of c.MK when it’s not CH.

nervermind i got a error in my reasoning how a counterhit works… i thougt it decrease the recoery time instead of giving more blockstun…

well it’d be hit stun for one… but counter-hit only applies to the first attack in a possible combo.

secondly, c.MK is at -3 on hit, meaning at best it would be either 0, or +1 frames from counter hit.

I was in the training room yesterday and found a nice Ultra 2 set-up.

Things you need to know how to do:
Focus Attack
Dash Backwards
Oil Slide -> FADC Forward
Ultra 2

FA Lvl2/3 -> Dash backwards -> HP Oil Slide* -> FADC -> Ultra 2

Does 20 more damage than Focus Attack -> Ultra 2.

*Must be done when crumpled opponent lands on their knees.

The benefit of this allows you to throw Focus attack and you not having to commit to a dash forward to land your Ultra 2 afterward. When oiled up, you fly even further back on the backdash, making you even safer if they block the FA. This combo gives you time to breath and gain more damage to KO your opponent.

This has been a S.I.N.dustry public broadcast.

You guys missed st.mp->c.lp. You don’t need to add a st.lp after the st.mp to get the combo. It’s useful, because you can do a dry oil rocket after an early j.hk, st.mp and alternately mix up j.hk, st.mp, c.lp->360lk. It’s also better than st.mp, st.lp, c.lp, at least in some circumstances, because you can end up too far away for the c.lp to connect.

HAha, yes and it leads to the most hilarious move in the game. Haha. The top of their head hits Hakans toe, and then BAM instantly grabbed.

Hey, thats a really cool find! Although I saw a Hakan (I think kinyoubi) do focus attack crumple dash backwards then he dashed in and did ultra 2, but thats still pretty neat.
