Hacking Streetfighter x Tekken characters

Just a little debate on whether this is wrong or right.
I’m not going to do it, but I wanted to hear others opinions on the matter.

Ive recently just heard and learned about the ways Capcom have been doing their business.
And earlier I somehow fought someone online who was using a Bryan and Sakura team.
-I love Sakura

The fighter had told me that its all bullshit how the characters are actually on the disk and hacking his system for them doesn’t feel in any way wrong, but the way Capcom priced them is.
(and if found out, you can actually have your Xbox Live account banned i believe.)

So after an hour or so of watching youtube vids and seeing the review about it, i began to agree with him. However there are some people who feel that it can somehow help with gameflow or whatever.

Im still considering buying the DLC for costumes however. Seeing how I have to renew my XBL account and points come with the 3 month Gold card. I just dont wanna have to pay so much for the characters :\

I don’t see anything wrong with accessing content that you already have on your disk. Capcom didn’t have to put the content on disk and lock us out. I’ve been planning on modding my Xbox for a while now and with Capcom pulling this stunt, I will probably do it sooner so I can access these characters.

As for how they’re priced, it’s not all that bad. We payed $15 (I think?) for a balance patch and 4 characters in SSFIV ($3.75 a character). We payed $40 for a balance patch and 12 characters in Marvel (Roughly $3.33 a character). I don’t see why SFxT is so much worse than those 2 when the price per character is lower (Roughly $1.66 a character). The costumes and other DLC are all extra and aren’t required for a full competitive experience (DLC gems will most likely be banned, I don’t see why they wouldn’t), so there’s not one reason to complain about those.

You payed for what you thought the roster was.

The fact that it is on the disc is not a rite of a passage to just take them. They put them on the disc because it makes everyone’s life easier.

Frankly, I’d probably hack them just so I could practice wiht Lars and Bryan, who will be my mains – but I plan on buying them. I don’t see a problem with having access to them as long as you’re not using them online because 1. you’ll just get caught, and 2. that’s just unfair to people who have to deal with you using default characters.

Well like you said you have to pay for whats on the disk as if the $60 wasnt enough :
-Also ive honestly never played any of the new edition SF and SSFs to know :\

Lol yea you have a point. I got my ass whooped by Bryan.
I thought Kazuya whooped ass. But his Bryan just seemed to be on a whole other level.
Plus I didnt know how to play against Bryan

Exactly what I thought too. I’m ok with the DLC being on there, and I’ll pay for them when I can. I know I’m in the minority here, but it’s just my opinion. I can absolutely understand how people disagree with me though. Just my opinion is all

I agree with you guys. I paid for the default 38. But yeah, folks tend to see it differently.

They were to be priced sooner or later. It didn’t matter if they were on disc or not.

They advertise the game as having x amount of characters and y amount of gems and stages for $60 at launch.

If you burned a blank cd that you paid one dollar for with pirated software, do you really own a copy? No. It’s stolen, but you have the physical disc. That’s what you own.

People pay $60 for a regular videogame and spend 8 hours passing it, you invest over $80 in a FG’s lifespan and you play it for well over 3 to possibly 6 years.
That’s personally why I don’t care about the whole DLC shit…because honestly as a FG it’s literally an endless enjoyment (considering that you find the game fun)

As far as ppl using characters…I don’t really care whether people use the characters, as long as it’s offline.

Hack them. Capcom didn’t have time for Co-op on X-box. (like they advertised) However, they had enough time to do 12 charecters they are going to release later in fall for more money. lol. And trust me there will be plenty people out there who have a head start on match ups.

And lastly you payed for the disk and everything on it. Not just certain pieces of the disk. Whoever thinks else wise has to work for capcom.

How would one go about hacking these characters in the first place?

Notice how MS keeps offering 1 or 2 months of gold for $1-2.
I know someone online that just made a new throwaway account, for $2 is running around using the dlc chars with no fear of being penalized since its a crap account.
I have the regular legit version installed to hdd so if I want to run the chars, I have to delete that, then run the modded copy. Too much hassle as I’m not all that concerned with those characters anyways.

I bought the disc, it’s my disc, i can do w/e i want with it, thanks.

u get banned for talking about the how-to’s of the subject. but google is your friend brah

if you get banned, i believe your console is banned as well not just your gamertag.

They ban mac addresses.

need a hacked console… Thanks anyways brah

pssh ive been runnin Christie online since the day it has been released to the public on bogus account i made for 2 dollars. MS hasnt banned me yet. Not like i care either, its an old ass xbox my friend gave to me that had red rings. Fixed the problem and now im online with my favorite character from Tekken. BTW ive had a modded account for 2 years and microsoft hasnt banned me. I doubt I’ll ever get banned, M$ seems to have given up on pirates for this console and started to focus on the next gen.

I got the characters on one console and play online with the legit version I’ll save my tricks for when they’re released but the Kazuya Bryan team will be spammed be warned Bryan can destroy anybody with 2 combos for a KO he is outmatched by Blanka very easily tho
