Hacked DLC characters being used online, thoughts?

no DLC no problems campaign. start unlocking ALL on disc dlc and showing the public how to do so. until dlc dies.

It’s not so much that DLC is the Problem(I got no Problems with FFXIII-2 DLC and i’ve paid for it all…some of it was on disk…i don’t care) it’s how it is executed…

Capcom PR tried to cover up something that was never suppose to been found out…its like exposing a fraud for who it is, however. we the community are also adding salt to this open wound…by promoting stuff like piracy, this isn’t the way to go…even if Capcom fucked up by doing DLC this way, doesn’t mean we should resort to these tactics as it will only hurt the game in the long run(less sells = less updates and loss of interest on Capcoms end…and that can be detrimental to the game’s longevity as there is a whole lot of people who like this game).

I want to see SFxTK be at Evo for as Long as SFIV has been at EVO…or even longer…however what people can’t see is that there is more then what is on the disk if we allow the game to grow, there will surely be true DLC that no one would need to bitch about(well you can but…why?)

It isn’t a good thing that Capcom has been doing this for a long time( they did it with Vanilla SFIV with alts) and their doing it now with SFxTK, however like with SSFIV there will be content that did not exist on the disk in the first place as DLC so we should look forward to that in the future…however I can see that happening if Capcom is getting Pirated to death because of poor DLC marketing decisions…because we all know the PC version is going to be like one of the top bit torrent games when its released(like with SFIV and AE).

I don’t really care for Capcom as a company…however when people can potentially ruin a games longevity(extended DLC in this case) because of something that happen at launch…then I have something to care about and rightfully be cornered about. I don’t know about you guys but I’m looking past these 12 characters and looking for additional content going into next year…

like this post or not, I think its for the better that we look at how this game can change, if anyone has seen the full list of data mined content knows it ALOT of stuff…more then the initial cost of the game it seems…and to think there could be more stuff coming as stuff can still be in development for this game…besides balance patches…i just want people to realize that. anyways…rant complete.

The same people are arguing the exact same thing… especially the people who don’t even plan to buy or play the game in the first place. If that isn’t a sign of herpderp-i-should-skip-the-sfxt-forum I don’t know what is.

Capcom formally announced that using these characters online is against their policies and they are trying to enforce disciplinary actions. If that isn’t a hint that hacked content doesn’t fall within your rights to use them online than its futile discussing it. Buying software isn’t the same as buying a loaf of bread from the store, despite what a lot of the peanut gallery here tends to believe.

People shouldn’t care if others chose to use these characters online or offline (in the non-sponsored tournies—cause those are the only tournaments that will allow it anyway). I certainly don’t. However, people shouldn’t encourage others to use them and risk getting bans/infractions which will cost them more money in the end. Its stupid and hypocritical of the oafs who aren’t even doing it themselves (ie. Fuck Capcom use them online LOL… oh yeah but i haven’t bought the game I haven’t even played it before LOL!)

Imo this should happen every time a developer tries to make you pay for playable content that already exist on the disc. Expose them for what the are not that anyone cares since we are all too busy paying for dlc alternate endings and new dresses to put on our character (that can be unlocked through game play but we are too busy to bother with since we are spending more time jacking off to fan art of said character than actually playing).

Edit: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Downloadable_content since some people don’t know the difference between that and ingame content.

This conversation still going on lool funny stuff

Here’s a few reasons!

  1. “Complete” is subjective.
  2. Capcom is catering to the niche, not the mainstream so they get less money for their investment. Extra money and DLC basically help fund titles that don’t appeal to most people.
  3. Fighting games aren’t like other games, You get your moneys worth in most games by playing for what? 8-16 hours? How many hours of play do you get out of a fighting game?
  4. It’s not 120, especially when the game drops to 30 bucks used later on.
  5. The more money the game makes the more money can be put back into adding content to the game later.

Here’s some reasons to defend Capcom

  1. They area huge part of the fighting game community.
  2. They try to please their fans.
  3. They have very talented people working for them.
  4. Some of the best art in games period.
  5. They take risks.
  6. Because someone needs to balance out they hyperbolic whining.

I don’t have shit else to do in between matches…so ya. sucks when the topic has long become stale…or when people stop white knighting capcom…oh well

??? :wtf:

I don’t think “complete” is subjective if a game gives you more quality content and variety and less glitches and bugs.

I’ve heard the same argument with vanilla mvc3 and it was not true, fun is subjective not the game features imo.

Yo you gotta white knight Super_Yancom’s thighs everyday other wise your whole life is staged basically for 8.95

“complete” to me is just the characters and game modes, but things like costumes, colors, titles, etc…That doesn’t make the game complete, and not everyone will agree to that.

I like this logic…trolling to da max! ahh these meme’s are priceless…

  1. No it isn’t.

  2. For this to be considered true, EVERY game of past generations, barring Madden and its ilk, would need be considered niche.

  3. Again, incorrect. Particularly of older gen games. Broaden your horizons - you’re evidently missing out on literally thousands of games.

  4. Who is speaking of later? Do the math.

  5. No they don’t. They appeal to the lowest common denominator. i.e. casuals + $$$

  6. Trickle down economics are why we are on the cusp of a depression.

  7. No they aren’t. Really.

  8. No they don’t. Really.

  9. Probably. They definitely used to, as evidenced by previous generations’ games. What does this matter if they don’t make any good games currently?

  10. ROTFLMMFAO ROTFLMMFAO ROTFLMMFAO AD NAUSEUM

  11. Convenience store robbers take risks too. Quite equivocally, actually.

  12. Take Capcom’s cock out of your mouth - you’re not hearing things correctly, over supressing your gag reflex.

  1. yes it is.

  2. Yeah a lot of games are niche. Look at adventure games Vs. gears of war, or pokemon.

  3. wtf are you talking about? lol I’ve been playing games long enough to know most cap out at 8-16 unless they are ridiculous grind fests, or have good multiplayer.

  4. Yeah wait what, a year? two years? Price will drop.
5-6. Yo man this section only had up to 5 points. But most casual gamers aren’t playing fighting games if that’s what you think.

  5. Yeah. Yeah they are.

  6. Sure they do. That’s why I got my Phoenix Wright after all. But they can’t bend to your every whim.

  7. They don’t make any good games currently? Subjective.

  8. You think Capcom has bad art? Oooh boooy.

  9. Hyperbole comparison.

  10. Suck on your mom’s tits and take a baby nap, your cranky and no one wants to hear you whine.

I don’t think games have a general play time of X amount of hours…for example…GT5, God Eater, the MGS series? in each of those i have multiple save files or time going over the 100 hour mark easy…so i have to disagree with you on that point…

Ask the movie and music studio’s how well that mentality is working for them, genius

I look at EVERY part of that game, from the black/white only colour customization, the lack of couch co-op, DLC characters, lame infinites and barely complete characters, and I see Capcom showing ZERO fucking respect for their loyal fanbase.

explain to me again why I must now show them respect.

Aside from 360 pair play and DLC characters, everything you said is being fixed. And what do you mean by “barely complete characters”?

If it was finished, aren’t we paying for the work when the game is bought? You can’t say its finished at the initial time of purchase and then ask for another payment for additional work.

If its finished its finished.

1.Complete.having all parts or elements; lacking nothing; whole; entire; full
http://dictionary.reference.com/browse/complete

2.I don’t think capcom would release a game.if they felt like it wouldn’t make them money.at least not
street fighter anyways.power stone and rival schools don’t get much love probably cause of it though.dalkstalkers
took a a lot of convincing.

3.how much grinding would be considered ridiculous?

4.but its not 30 bucks now its 60 plus tax.and if people waited till it dropped then capcom would lose a lot
more money

5.so if they make a lot of money then they can comeback with more pricey downloadable content? got it

  1. big part of the fighting game community i agree but that doesn’t give them a free pass to keep
    pulling the stunts they’ve done
2.the mega man community would like a word with you
    3.I agree
    4.thats subjective
5.I’ve only really seen vs series and resident evil games out of them of late.not sure what risks they’ve taken lately
unless you mean changing dantes look in dmc completely which is more of just a bad call then a risk
6.people have been fed up with capcom for a while now.some over the top some justified.and as long at capcom goes
down this same route its gonna continue to carry over.if your happy with capcom then that’s fine.I can respect that.but
theres people that aren’t and are gonna express it and vent.you could just as easily not read the hate posts if it bugs you that much.

So Capcom complains about this costing money, and your solution is to wait until its cheaper and buy it then. So why did I buy the game on day one again for full price? To find out it was a better idea to have waited? So Capcom games I should just wait instead of buying right away, thus fucking them even worse? Do you see where your business strategy fails? I certainly do.

Yes I do sometimes. Because I am a human being, not a money hungry greedy fuck.

No, my reasoning is they’ve done this like 50 billion times, and they did it again, only this time they were REALLY lazy about it. When I bought SSFIV, they at least DID upgrade shit between games. And we saw the process of creating new characters.

This time, they gave us a game missing features, that will get patched up later (woo??? So I paid full price for a broken game…k…), and the disc is full of more characters, who were OBVIOUSLY planned ahead of time, budgeted, and everything else.

Like I said, logically they should have made the game, see how well it sold, then start planning DLC. Instead, they had DLC ready to go BEFORE THE GAME EVEN HIT THE FUCKING SHELVES.

You thinking this is an okay business practice just shows how fucking stupid you really are, and this is the reason the world is in such shit condition right now, because we allow business practices (read: RAPE) like this to occur.

But that notion, NOTHING is ever complete. Try discussing your limited philosophy ideals with people who are equally retarded to you.

I can’t wait until Capcom starts making people pay for online passes. Maybe then some of you will finally grow a pair. MAYBE

lol dude.

  1. But as soon as new content is available, it becomes incomplete. Unless it’s free, but if it’s free new content why make it if your a company?
  2. Yeah that’s just how companies are, they rarely take risks, and I like to applaud them when they do, even if it’s not perfect.
  3. If you need to grind for exp for 30 hours to get levels or skills beat a game i think its ridiculous. Grinding to teach yourself new things in fighting games is actually rewarding to me.
  4. Companies do lose money to trade ins and price drops. DLC is probably the best way to combat that.
  5. Yes. It’s a cycle. You don’t make something, make a lot of money to give shit away for free later, that doesn’t make any sense!
  1. Well maybe they are learning, capcom is an old company adjusting to a new age of videogames.
  2. “communities” and “fanbases” are 80% crazy fucking cry baby bitches, no matter what the fandom. I’ve been a Megaman fan since 2, and you know what? I really have no complaints.
  3. It’s subjective, yes but it’s my opinion, I’m just sharing.
  4. Well give it some time. I love their Phoenix Wright series, and I’ll be checking out Asura’s Wrath.
  5. There’s shit I’d like to change but I think with everyone screaming and not logically approaching the situation, either nothing will be done, or the wrong things will be fixed. I might have my own gripes with Capcom, but the fanbase is infinately worse. It always is.
