Hacked DLC characters being used online, thoughts?

I’d gladily pay $60 for an empty Blu Ray disc. You guys know that it costs money to print discs? Be grateful Capcom gave you content, pathetic self-entitled curs. I think we should all ban together and report anyone and everyone hurting the fighting game community by ripping our favorite company.

It would be so much easier if Capcom just release the characters already. It’s so much easier than just banning people. : /

Its more to it then that…its the minority that hacks the game(a good thing), but its common knowledge(a bad thing). More so then any, most people purchased the game legit which in term Capcom sees a market for the game(a good thing) they see the community put the game to uses in tournaments around the world and Capcom sees that the game is being played. The more exposure the game gets, only better things are in this games future. We know roughly 50-60% of the total DLC plan for this game, and that goes without saying most of it is content we know exist already…However, in the not to distant future we will get DLC thats not on the disk and is what people call “honest DLC” but i can only see that happening if SFxTK does well.

people are going to have to support the game in order for that to happen, but it can. look at SF4…it got tons of updates and was at Evo with a different version of the game every year, SFxTK can blow up just like SF4, so me being optimistic about it isnt too far from a possible future.

The exact opposite can happen, and more people hack and pirate the game, capcom sees this…and decides to not release anything past currently planned DLC…they may just scrap plans for PC users as there are usually the biggest offenders in this practice…(I respect the PC user community and everything they have done for the SF4 modding/building scene) further expansions would also seem bleak. people do take things for granted…and this is just another example of it.

but as i said in my last post, there is a purpose for it…without hackers and people data mining the game, we wouldn’t know about all the interesting and new additions waiting for us in later DLC packs, we wouldnt see how these new characters are played nor would we have the means to fill those character threads with information. The ends justify the means this time…

If you “unban” your console Microsoft isn’t dumb, they will brick the everliving shit out of it to the point where it may as well be a paperweight.

They’ve also been known to disconnect modded controllers before. Basically it will still work, only on anyones xbox that isn’t the one it was disconnected from. My friend Jimmy makes modded controllers and its happened to him 3 times. I’m not sure how they catch it though.

At least you’re honest about it, heh.

Here’s what this situation boils down to for me:

License agreements aren’t law, and breaking them is between the person who chooses to do so and the company who owns the license. As long as you aren’t attempting to copy and distribute materials, legal arguments would likely not hold water. Morals are completely subjective. One could argue it’s morally wrong for Capcom to lock away content already on the disc in order to charge consumers more for it later down the road, others might say Capcom can do as they choose and circumventing their locks is wrong. We’re never going to completely agree on the subject.

Whether or not accessing DLC early constitutes a account ban will depend on how Microsoft or Sony decide to handle the issue, and will likely depend on exactly the method they’re using to access the content early, or if they’ve worked something out with Capcom to just ban anyone found accessing said content for whatever reason.

LOL LOL LOL LOL LOL LOL LOL

BANWAVE DEFEATED

LOL! I spit my drink out when I saw this. Good shit. The Capcops here are gonna tell b/c they’re “HELLA PETTY”.

fixed that for you

pretty much, I mean for one reason or another we want the content thats on the disk, how we obtain is irrelevant to me at this point, I’m still going to to pay $20 for the characters in the fall, as im going to buy the alt costumes i like, it whatever to me.

also your avatar brings back the hype for vanilla MVC3(that newgrounds vid is epic!)…don’t care what people said, I didn’t waste my money buying it~ so kudos to ya!

If it’s irrelevant to you, why report people who are able to access it earlier?

Because he’s not petty, he’s salty.

because im petty~ i mean we all knew that…also Petty =/= salty to the post above this…what do i need to be mad about? o_O I just don’t want you having something I don’t…

Lol my set up is damn near the same lol box on box on box

then unlock it yourself. duh. scrub.

i don’t see why you insist to think that im salty o_O this honestly confuses me…oh well people with one track minds will think what they will…i can’t change that.

I would honestly like to know if anyone gets actually banned over this. I am also curious to see how this debacle affects Capcom when it comes to releasing content on future projects.

oh.

The only bad guys here are the people that chose to lock content. In a few months Vita owners are going to be able to get the full game for $40. Those of us that paid $60 to $80(collectors edition) are going to be charged MORE for content on the damn disc.

Lets face it this game was almost as dirty to make as MVC2. Half the roster is ripped straight from SFIV, the actual amount of new content with all 50 characters is about the same as Vanilla MVC3 or SFIV. It didn’t cost them extra to make those assets, it just cost them to make it and we’re being charged extra. Even worse we’re being told to wait, so even if you want to be exploited you can’t until Capcom blows the rape whistle.

you not a bad guy yourself~ I agree with most of what you said in that other thread about peoples bitching and how it can potentially kill the game(i honestly felt this way with 2012 patch for AE and i don’t use twins o_O) so i can see where your coming from.

idk, saying have the roster being ripped from SF4 is kinda dumb considering SF4 has some of the most popular characters of the franchise in said game -_-’ i would gladly accept characters like Cody and Cammy with open arms…so color me stupid for being confused on why someone would complain about that? Obviously someone wanted Rufus in(not me…but someone apparently did) so i can’t get really mad about that.

while the Vita version gets no negatives(more so if you own the PS3 version and payed for DLC already as they both can share DLC), its ok because its on a handled…no one really cares…however i would feel really bad for 360 owners if they pulled some BS like if you bought the Vita version, PS3 owners would get a code to download the 12 characters for free…
