[H] Madcatz Tournament Edition Round 2 Xbox360 Stick not working properly in SF5

MC TE R2 XBOX360 stick is working fine outside of the game. Works in fightcade, works to control steam, big picture, and USF4. However in SF5 game, random shit doesn’t work.

Sometimes its the joystick not registering inputs, or over registering them (tap forward becomes hold 1 second). I think this has to do with the LS or DP toggle?

Sometimes its the LP (X) button that doesn’t work, or presses HK (RB) with it. Sometimes neither LP or MP works (X or Y). Currently I have tried setting everything to default and the only thing that works in game is LK and MK (A and B ) and the joystick.

And finally, sometimes when I mess with some of the settings in steam nothing works.

Can anyone help me?

PS- How do I search the tech talk forum here? edit- nothing http://forums.shoryuken.com/search?adv=1&search=&title=TE+r2+xbox360&author=&cat=6&tags=&discussion_d=1&comment_c=1&within=1+day&date=

It is strange that these issues would be SFV specific. The randomness would normally make me suspect your USB cable, but this wouldn’t be game specific. Have you opened up device manager to check each input more thoroughly?

Its not my computer or the stick. Its definitely something with the game,

Its not my computer or the stick. Its definitely something with the game. As there are issues with it if I run from big picture or open the SFV.exe

I’ve asked everywhere and haven’t gotten any help. This is so annoying…

FUCK I FINALLY FIGURED IT OUT. !! Fucking stupid steam has this mode that allows your gamepad to control steam and windows. I assumed that this was just some worthless feature no one uses and it actually was interfering with my ability to map buttons in steam. Because when I would press stuff it would close windows or go back instead of accepting and saving.

Also, the button configuration menus in Steam and SF5 are really poorly designed and made it difficult to understand what button was being pressed or what was being accepted/registered for each screen.

What a shit show.

TL;DR Steam/Big picture was mapping buttons to blank and when I pressed stuff it would back out of the menu and not save them.

Ah, glad you figured it out. I’ve never used Steam’s button mapping feature.
