Gyah Kita Ki (My demon brethren): The Firebrand teams and assists thread

I’m never a huge fan of any team that relies on TAC to execute it’s strategy (the main reason I changed from my FB/Frank team), and I also don’t like infinites, especially Doomfinites.
However, if you’re confident to not drop the combo with Doom, it’s certainly a viable strategy once you get started. The fact that you don’t need a lockdown assist for your unblockable is a pretty big positive in the team’s favor. You also get the Zero-esque combo extension with Vergil (s.S + call Vergil > j.S > RS hits > j.S again) for some extra damage with Firebrand.

on characters it doesn’t work you can do this in xf1: after tenderizer hits> kidnap>s>latish jumph>mhelldive>jumph(1hit)>s>raw tag doom>ms>jm(1)>jfh>s>land m >hard kick> Jm(1)>jfh>s>etc.
Its good to snap loop hulk haggar until you can’t snap again and then do the combo above

I mean its still good team but killing with fb/vergil thc doesn’t actually give an ensured ub if they have a double jump/air dash. The end of firebrand’s UB swoop stops just short off it being true meaty so characters with air movement options can avoid it.

How much have we dabbled in Firebrand teams with two assists for unblockables? I’m thinking Dante/Skrull or Dante/ Ammy. Couldn’t you start combo with assist, combo into 2nd assist to setup unblockable, rinse repeat till dead? It’s not like Jam Session or Cold Star are bad neutral assists.

Really having trouble confirming off Tenderizer when they take all the hits. The general idea is let swoop go early and fly up a bit to confirm right?

xXavierx you should be hitting after Skrull’s final punch. Input the H part of SRK+H right when he lands.

Gil: Why not Iron Man and Skrull? You can actually confirm off both if you get the hit.

So I found a way for Firebrand to set up a hard tag setup for some characters from Bon Voyage. For the bigger characters that you cannot just raw hard tag with this should work.

Bon Voyage to the corner, dash out of the corner to a distance where the H fireball will hit them, but not right when it falls out of his mouth (he should not spit on them). Then hard tag.

What do people with firebrand’s level 3? I know you can do the fireball loop but outside of that in neutral I just mash H

Anybody have any thoughts on Firebrand/Strange/Ammy?

thats sick but it looks ultra hard. I play brand/vergil, and would benefit from this oh so much. but the vergil part looks really hard. Has anyone actually completed this combo? it’s really sick, and would help me a lot seeing how none of firebrands raw tag setups work for vergil.

eye of agamoto isn’t bad for brand either. He gets a lot of resets.

As for the lvl 3 What I like to do is to get a lot of H’s on the screen and fly around looking for a cross up or some other trickery. Stomp while mashing H and cancel into downward airdash for mixups. instant over head works with the fireball too if i’m not mistaken. this super isn’t bad if firebrand is somehow your anchor. with it you can kill a character in around 7 seconds. But not if your opponent just sits there you need him to move and absolutely freak out.

I’m running Firebrand/Skrull/Task

Vertical Arrows are godlike for both characters, Firebrand gets half-screen unblockables for upbackers, TAC unblockable with Skrull’s Inferno, cross-ups with DMM, just so much stuff. Of course Skrull brings tenderizer AND Vertical Arrows makes Meteor Smash safe, and he can combo off it.

I almost have that vergil combo down, but it is so hard. especially someone new to vergil like me.

Can firebrand get any mileage out of shuma’s eye beam assist? I’m thinking about trying firebrand/dorm/shuma (team under the bed) but I can’t find much on the fb/shuma pairing.

Karsticles and Angelic have both run that team, and both of them like(d) it. I would try to get in touch with one of them.

Optimal meter, lower damage variant.
More damage, meter neutral version.
This one is high damage and meter negative.

I’m playing Firebrand/Dormammu/Shuma-Gorath. It’s definetely the most fun I’ve had in this game.

I’ve also just started messing around with Firebrand/Vergil/Shuma.

Really, really fun.

So I finally bit the bullet and have decided to learn Doctor Doom in order to make my Firebrand teams more complete. This makes me undeniably sad, by the way.
However, I’m having a lot of trouble picking the opponent up after a raw tag. I can never get it to come out in time. I’m holding assist down to raw tag in ASAP after Bon Voyage, but for some reason the enemy is able to roll before I can get Doom’s s.M to come out. Part of this may be that I’m also learning to play on stick, but even when I switch back to pad I’m having trouble. Anyone have suggestions?
I’m also going to browse the Doom forums a bit because his combos are really wacky in my opinion (both in appearance and in execution).

Doom’s hard tag animation ends a lot earlier than it looks like. If the hard tag doesn’t hit them, you are guaranteed to be able to do it. .Just do it earlier than it looks like.

Also, Doom is a lot Dormammu, movement wise. Just a lot of SJ ADDF j.M
