Also a double typhoon set up, plus good DHCs very nice resets too.

Probably a really good THC to boot.

Yeah, it lasts forever and does good damage.

Firebrand/Dante THC can charge the unblockable fully. So yeah, nifty little team would work. Maybe Storm on point would be better just cause you have a free unblockable to get out.

I will probably do that for certain matchups, Storm is best in the second slot for assist sniping though

That is very true, but you can also just do THC’s while she’s on point for that.

That’s not as fast. THC’s start up in the time it takes for point character’s super to start up.

Oh really? I thought I heard somewhere that THC’s were 1 frame. weird my mistake.

They are one frame after flash. For instance, if I have iron fist first (fastest startup super at 6 frames) and storm second, the THC would start in 6+1 frames. Hail storm normally starts in like 40 frames so it is quite a bit faster. Hope this helps some you out there.

That’s not QUITE accurate. Iron Fist has 3 frames of startup and 3 frames after animation before it becomes active. So in all actuality, you’re right in that it’s the fastest, it’s actually a 3 frame THC flash. Coming in second is Magneto with a 4 Frame startup to Magnetic Tempest. Iron Man gets honorable mention, as the THC itself can take forever, but the cannon hitbox shows up at frame 3 as well.

Thanks for the clarification, I couldn’t actually remember the exact number I just knew iron fist’s super had a six somewhere and it was the fastest.

My team is Brand/Skrull/Ammy.

My current strat is to land the first hit, and if the opponent is a low life character, Xfactor and kill them, followed by Skrull unblockable setup which should loop back into itself.

I’m having trouble choosing a Firebrand assist though, Skrull and Ammy are obvious, but I’m struggling to find uses for Firebrands assists. Also, the DHC from Skrull -> Firebrand is pretty bad.

I run FB (Swoop) / Dante (Jam) / Frank (Cart) and I find the swoop is useful for playing the neutral game. Its similar to log trap in keeping the opponents out and giving some breathing room.

However for your team the Fireball would be good for OTGs and follow ups if you need them or the charge assist can create 50/50s with air dashes and such. It also allows for extra ground bounces for Skrull (which is really nice).

When DHCing from Skrull to FB, why not just luminous body before the end of inferno and try to set up a reset into an unblockable, grab, or something like that?

hsien-ko/firebrand/drones

With this team your main goal is to survive long enough with hsien-ko, through good defense and gong+drones keepaway, long enough to build a meter. Once you get to two meters you can go gold > DHC into luminous body and then go from there.

Gold pendulim assist should allow enough hitstun to help fb with high/lows, although i dont think it lasts long enough to charge his unblockable. However, you can use drones to help set up his unblockable and some high lows.

the damage might not be there so much with this team, but with a reset or two, plus some annoying keepaway and a dhc into sent or TACs to sent into plasma storm > luminous body/gold, you shouldnt need too many combos to kill a team. however a touch of death team this is not.

i love install supers. on incoming chars you can do hsienkos big metal balls super or hyper sentinel force into luminous body and itll give you a nice easy high/low to open them up.

And, if you ever make it to 5 meters with hsien ko and fb still alive, gold > luminous body > level 3 and then you XF and GO NUUUTS! mwahahaha.

Anyway, i could go on but i wanna know what you guys think. is this just a thoery team? is this but the dream of a madman? or is this solid?

I think it would be a little of all three. I think it would need to be explored more to see the final possibilities that it contains, but the concepts are at least solid.

If you’re gonna run that concept, Hsien-Ko/Morrigan/Doom is a better style. + Morrigan basically feeds the team the meter it needs.

Ok guys need some help. So I’ve been running Firebrand/Doom/Ammy switching between beam and missiles. Although Doom/Ammy shell is great I find it’s doing most of the work and I wanna get FB in there more. I can’t squeeze enough damage out of him to kill the high health characters in one hit and right now I’m not good enough to land 2 resets every time even though I can often get the first hit.

After watching Zak Bennett play a million times I’ve decided a few things. 1) he never wins because of unblockable tricks, yes sometimes he throws in a rare unblockable but usually it’s really good high/low mixups and grabs. 2) he cleans his plate with Firebrand. Dormammu there does so much damn damage he often gets the kill in 1 combo. 3) it’s really hard to land an Ammy coldstar in neutral game. I already knew this was the case but sometimes you have to just wait and wait before even pressing the assist button and even then both of them get blown up sometimes, this happens to me all the time.

What I now want to do is play Firebrand/Dormammu (Dark hole)/Doom (missiles). I think Firebrand with missiles is deadly first of all, his mobility is really good for calling Doom way in the back corner, and you have the options to fly around and control the map more. Also if they’re on the ground and block them he gets the high/low coldstar mixup. I also really like Dark hole with firebrand, don’t know why Zak doesn’t use it more often. Playing around with it in the lab it gives him really good mixups aswell, if they block it in the air you can Bon Voyage and cross under them twice, if they block it on the ground you can do the high/low mixup again.

The point is I wanna run this team. My friend thinks I’m crazy for dropping the coldstar but I don’t think I really need it. Firebrand needs more damage and his mixups are already ace. I can play a pretty mean Doom anchor and Dormammu/Doom(missiles) is a deadly end-game combo as Filipino’s been showing us lately. Also unblockables with RUN super. I don’t have a TV at the moment so I can’t play but I wanna run this team ASAP. Thoughts?

First of all, in regards to your old team, Doom behind Firebrand is painful. THC into Doom at the end of a Firebrand combo. You should do upwards of a bonus 150+ damage and gain a lot of meter. Then, rather than end in Molecular shield into Sphere Flame, do Photon Array for the hard knockdown, then DHC into Firebrand. Should do good damage. Also, if you can find a way, you have the Tag after Bon Voyage into Doom’s Time. Or even just Foot Dive them during Doom stuff, then do LVL3 from there.

Firebrand/Sentinel/Akuma is fucking beautiful. So many dirty ass mixups. I feel like this team is the alternative to Firebrand/Dorm/Ammy.

Sentinel/Firebrand are bffs. Hyper Sentinel force into luminous body destroys 95% of everything on screen and has nasty blockstun. This allows Firebrand a free trip to the corner and if the opponent crouch blocks then just fly for an unblockable overhead.
