Is it true that Guy is on par with Akumas walk now? That is really nice.

I stated in my post he has a 10% increase. So no he is no where near Akuma.

Omg yes … So many times i got an overhead come out instead of St.MP , But i dont think enough people requested it. Or perhaps it is intentionally there to make it harder to whiff punish with guy. Its been there since alpha , but then again they made Ryus Cr.MK ->Hadoken easier.

Is Run->Overhead any easier to combo after? I know that we can currently combo off 1-hit R-O’s but I also know this requires specific spacing in AE.

As in Stop gets 16 frames of recovery, EX gets the hitbox buff and doesn’t soar over crouching opponents.

I went to NEC spoke to Combofiend only told him 3 changes, keep it at a minimum. Also voicing your opinion on FB/Twitter won’t do you any good.

First off buffing the second hit of F.MP won’t do anything that already hits, you’d have to buff the first.

-St.mk has 12 frames of recovery, don’t get greedy. That’s a far poke that is safe and can be contested well against other pokes.
-TC I had stated should hit from cl st.hk as a standard on every character from point blank.
-D.MP has no hurtbox from his waist down already. However buffing this move to contest against low profile would be far too good. Hence why I asked for Bushin Flip Elbow instead, that has a full hurtbox on Guy so buffing the hitbox would be overall better and not OP, due to the move having a lesser of advantage due to 8 frames of recovery again don’t get greedy
-U1 I asked for a decreased startup and hitbox buff, they decided to do the latter. I decided not to ask for a buff on it because honestly we get practically Ultra Damage for a punish with 1 bar added onto stun on the entire cast.

Kreymore as well spoke to Combofiend as well as Brunaleski (Ryback). Don’t ask for too many things otherwise it’ll get taken away or overlooked.

U have a funny way of lookin at shit blood… Everybody else bitches and complains about their character and shit gets changed, and here we r and have been asking for the same shit since super and ur sayin don’t ask for a lot… Man fuck that! If they would take the amount of time they put into their poster boys of the franchise, maybe guy players wouldn’t have a reason to complain or bitch. Who else in the cast has a special move that does no chip? NOBODY! Only guy… Who else has a two hit overhead that doesn’t hit twice in every situation? NOBODY! only guy… We r not asking for much… Just for his deficiencies to be fixed and one minor command. Take the time and get shit right. ^^ haha yea. I know some guy players ask for unreasonable buffs. But the majority of us just stick to small fixes like tc, elbow whiffing.

I remember even cammy players bitching about how bad she was in ae. And woopdy doo she’s one of the best. Tbh most players keep asking for ridiculous changes and some of these are actually in.
It just bugs me that most of Guys hitboxes are just small for no apparent reason. His St.MK whiffs on Lows , Would it really be soo broken if Lk Tatsu hit 3 times always? Would the game break if MK tatsu could be reliably used after TC. I mean just look at Guys shoulder and Yuns shoulder , Now I am NOT asking them to buff all these and I dont think it is necessary. but it just irks me that Guys shoulder is so damn small when compared to yun ROFL. Like I said earlier , Capcom keeps all the Guy work for a friday.

Its sad but i think this is just what happens when your character ain’t that popular. A characters like ken or chun are going to get a lot more requests for buffs than guy. I think Guy wont get good changes because all the scrubs complain and actually think hes high tier. These are the same noobs that cant differentiate between Bushin Flip and his regular jump and actually think its a “Vortex” lmao , just because they cant spam shoryuken outta it.

I asked for a better whiff recovery to be a bit greedy but i didn’t write it down it would be really too good.I listed 1-2 frame less start up on ultra 1’s to ease the pressure of executing during a tournament match for Guy, his new changes are good so I didn’t want anything more.

I listed yun should get lk up-kicks to hit ducking characters this will lower the damage output of his reversals but would allow for a full punish on block 1-2 frames less recovery on whiff divekicks. The thing I left out was a hitbox change to dive kicks I think combofiend was cool with it but I give it a second thought, like maybe that be too crazy up close for meterless guy to handle (drinking at the time)lol.

Whiff recovery is no different, it’s 12 frames of recovery after the 2 active frames. I don’t have a funny way of looking at shit. I have a smart way of looking at things and clearly you guys aren’t even reading what I even said when I came back from NEC, which depicting a change in 3 things that were heavily addressed. I gave reasonable reasons on what I suggested to combofiend, also st.mk whiffing on lows those generally have to be low profile… which… Guy isn’t the only character that suffers from that.

Regular elbow with a lowered hitbox would literally be broken because you aren’t going to be able to AA that without invincibility because Guy doesn’t even have a hurtbox from below his waist, unless you want them to increase his hurtbox on that move as well to fit according to the hitbox and have that be balanced out, but you’re forgetting one simple thing, lowered hitbox = higher hit when standing, that then turns into being at a bigger disadvantage both on hit and block when they are standing. Which could then make comboing off it a 1 -2 frame link against the tall characters if you can even combo on them from that. Hence why suggest Bushin Flip Elbow, Guy’s hurtbox is his entire body, lowering the hitbox then becomes fair still and balanced because, you’d still be able to combo off it as most people will be crouching and you can easily score CHs, the move can be AA’d, allows for some pressure. They can even adjust the hit/block stun accordingly or reduce the recovery frames from 8 to 6.

TC what was shown in the Ultra trailer was honestly way too good. Max Range TC into a HKD leading into 4 safejump/meaty pressure. Not exactly balanced because there is no reason to play footsies against Guy unless you are an ace at PBOS. That’s why I asked for it to be a standard to hit from CL. ST.HK on every character. That’s a reasonable range point blank for TC to hit and that’ll cover the horizontal and vertical hitbox accordingly

How did I approach Combofiend? I went up to him and asked him the changes about Guy in that build after playing and then voiced my opinion on what should be added, we had roughly a 15-20 minute conversation and that was that. You never played Guy, let alone all you could possibly do is watch from a stream or listen from word of mouth. Guy has been received well and honestly you say he’s a half assed character. Which you’re basically calling him Dan tier… while a Dan specialist just made what Top 16 at Dreamhack? Guy was only half assed in Super, we had no pressure, our reversal was buns against most of the cast, EX Run was completely useless. His normals were pretty subpar alongside of his pressure. Come 2012 he’s more well-rounded even with the few things that need a fix. He’s a contender not exactly half-assed, in his current state in Ultra that has not changed whatsoever, he was given a few more things to be well rounded against the entire cast but he remains a contender. The people asking for everything for their character are going to be coming back to a completely different character come release. Ultra isn’t done and has yet to be done. Still have 4-5 months for changes to be done and players to review before they go into a finalization process of possibly asking for any last second suggestions.

Do you feel delayed wake up will work against Guy? Against Some characters it takes so much effort for kd. It will screw up OS.

I always felt guy had a pretty good wake up game. Ex run, ex tatsu, good back and forward dash. And yes looks like i started whining there a bit. Tbh i feel guy is pretty solid, but the changes to chars like ken, chun… Rog… Just make me jelly. With combo fiend saying stuff like “you can now play rog like super turbo”. What about making guy play like alpha? Dat lk

i think guy will obviously be better in ultra, but with all the other chars getting there buffs hes gonna stay exactly how he is no. these buffs are good but not great. other chars are getting great buffs. so it slike hes moving up but also the other chars are moving higher. he will be more fun but still not really move anywhere in the tier list. then again what do i know.the game doesnt come out till next year and a shitload can change between now and then. i just wish we get alpha 2 pressure and alpha 3 combo happy guy back :frowning: lol.

They gave us back Cr.mp (Even though it never left) but it seems they reverted it to AE status rather than keeping the hurtbox on his head. Does delayed work on Guy… yes and no. See the delayed wake up will only catch you off guard if you don’t expect it so right now to see what your opponent will do. When I did his 4 frame safejump in Ultra I OS’d with NInja sickle see if it could work and on a delayed wakeup the 2nd hit of Ninja sickle would hit. So it’s a good indicator of what we can do. Maybe we can still OS with cr.mk or cr.hk to hit on the later frames.

We;re never going to get Alpha Guy back :(, plus Alpha Guy in my opinion… would be a little toooo strong.

Honestly, them giving us Cr. Mp back just shows us that if we complain hard enough about stuff, they’ll give it to us. Guy players everywhere whined about losing that, and they reverted it. It’s like the other characters, people whined about Chun, Dudley, Ken, and Rog and they are getting amazing buffs. I understand that we should ask for “balanced” buffs as not to appear greedy, but if we ask for just one or a two broken things, we might get it like the other characters have gotten. There is no shame with wanting your character to get buffs that will clearly make him too strong. Even top players ask for stuff like that for their characters all the time.
