well i am starting guy in alpha 3 but i cant seem to do his Bushin chain like in alpha 1. i can do the jab and strong but then i cant connect the fierce please help thx.
Ok
well i have trouble with that too but i got over that by pressing :towards and HK for the last kick if that doesn’t help try slowing down your button presses some time you have to do that for chain combos or it could be the exact opposite problem you might be too slow and have to speed up your button presses.
hope that help
The timing is very very strict. I don’t think there’s any surefire technique besides muscle memory. I don’t really think about it anymore, I just sort of do it.
The jab and MP intervals are relatively close together though, the FP is slightly delayed and the RH is greatly delayed.
Where’s your left hand on the stick while doing the chain?
Try doing the chain in neutral.
Also, the timing of the chain can change depending on a number of things.
You gotta be a lil bit specific about what it is youre doing while trying these chains, to find the problem.
thx im kinda of getting the hang of it but yeh in alpha 1 i can do it without even thinking. well i heard guy was one of the best combo player in sf a3 so i decided to train with him =D
In A1 chains can be canceled on hit, but in A3 this isn’t so, this is why you find it harder to do. In A3 you have to cancel the chain in the recovery of the previous move. So, you press jab, wait for it to hit then press strong in the recovery. You now have a slower move with longer hit frames so you have to wait a fraction longer before you can cancel into the fierce. Then again, you have a slower move with longer hit frames so you have to wait a fraction longer again before you can cancel the roundhouse. So you’re essentially slowing your button presses down each hit of the Bushin Chain.
the timing is progressively slower as u progress through the chain.
s.lk(fastest) s.lp -(fast) s.mp- (slower)- s.fp (really slow) - s.hk
u can omit the s.lk, in most combos, but it is a part of the chain, so i included it anyway.
all true alpha2/3 chains work like this.
I actually try to double tap for it. I get the chains constantly with th at. Just a suggestion from a fellow guy player haha
Double tapping is unconsistant, especially that guaranteed rh, i started guy like that too…
Its easy to learn timing, why not do so? Dont waste your time with tapping.
I realized that I can only whiff cancel Guy’s Bushin Chain into lvl 3 kick super when I drum it out and then hit QCFx2 + 3 kicks. If I hit just roundhouse then it doesn’t whiff cancel and just throws out plain ol’ roundhouse.
I never have a problem double tapping the combo out. I mean yeah learning how to do it is fine and all. But double tapping for me right now works too (i just got the game yesterday)
Being up your own arse is unconsistant, especially that guarenteed flamer, I’m starting to hate that guy too…
It’s easy to land that roundhouse, just double tap…
Sorry, but wtf was that? Ive said that timed chain is more consistant than mashed doubletapped chain, which i failed a lot as i remember. Am i that wrong?
Sorry to be a dick but yes… Timing a double tap will always be more successful than timing one single hit… You can’t really waste your time with tapping since it gives you better chances all round.
Double tap the chain on juggle and watch your shit whiff.
Yeah, that double tapping stuff won’t fly as well when they’re off the ground.
No, you are correct.
