Shoutout to networkingyuppy!
It is true, I do have archive of all Tech Talk on my computer.
I knew it! No wonder you always have the link in seconds. You must have like a sweet storage system. Or a good spreadsheet directing you where to find the thread.
Hey JDM,
I always wondered why when you reply in your post you say “Laugh.” sometimes I don’t know how to take that lol
I don’t know why I do that.
Laugh.
But I had a few people on SRK get mad at me.
They took it badly, thinking I am insulting them when I answer their questions.
But don’t take it bad.
It is all cool.
Laugh.
is Laugh like your “Lol”? I didn’t take it bad, I just didn’t know what it meant exactly.
Laugh.
I really don’t know since that stick went through a lot of mods since the day that case was made. Originally it was just a dual wireless stick. Then when Toodle’s chimp board was in beta stage I converted the stick to a dual wired stick. Then it went through three different led mods. I think the DS was added after the 1st led mod.
Heh, I always wondered why too. You should make it into a tech talk tee. It would have some type of helpful tech talk info oin the front and the say “Laugh.” on the back.

This Post is response back to Caecus.
It just came to me right now.
Why would you want an Acrylic Panel that will replace the Metal Plate on bottom of TE?
You can’t really see anything with the Metal Plate removed.
There is a black plastic covering the insides.
All you would see are holes.
Eight for Buttons.
One square.
Laugh.
Laugh.
That was me laughing at you.
That would be funny.
Laugh.
Laugh at it!
If I can, I’ll talk to you @ SJ. Thanks.
I would so buy one of those shirts too.
Laugh.
Sorry for the delayed response(s).
As per my title, I apologize for the delay in responding. Seeing as it’s easy to unintentionally (or I suppose intentionally as the case may be) abuse someone who is extremely helpful - which I didn’t want to do - I spent the last two days educating myself by reading up on relevant threads. To say the least, the amount of information available here is staggering. Especially the 137 page Art’s Arcade Stick Plexiglass Thread. In retrospect, I suppose if I skipped over some posts or skimmed instead of reading each and every post, I’d probably have been done faster than 2 days. But at least I know a little bit more now, so hopefully I’ll ask less stupid questions :).
Once again, very informative jdm714. And you are indeed very helpful. I saw your posts consistently throughout my research the last two days. The auto-detection feature sounds like something I’d still very much be interested in, regardless of whether or not they help with the multi-console functionality. I suppose it comes down to final pricing that I’ll discuss with Gummowned.
4) Is there a particular type of wire sleeve that works well for the wires you work with? Or preference on your part? If not I’ll get you some from:
If you could give me ideas of how many and general lengths (nothing too specific of course), so I know how many to ship to you would be great.
5) If you or someone could point me in the direction of where I could purchase din8 cables, would be fantastic.
6) It is good to know that the buttons are quick disconnects still, since I was mainly asking about the buttons and the joystick. Now since the arc-eyes are in the buttons, if I’m swapping them out later for new buttons that are capable of housing them, there should be no problem putting them in the new buttons correct?
8) You will be receiving both at the same time. We’ll hammer out the details soon :).
It’s “Caecus” :). If you’re phonetically reading my handle in your head to have it sound similar to “cactus”, then we don’t pronounce that word in the same manner. Think of it this way --> “Cae” as in “Kay” in “Okay” then it should come out correct. Also indeed, jdm714 seems very knowledgeable and helpful, and he has my gratitude.
And yes I’m entrusting Gummowned with my first and only joysticks I’ve ever owned (always was a saturn/ascii pad kind of guy) hence are very special to me, because of my faith in his work. Not only does he produce quality work (based on my research on this thread, his youtube channel, other threads always referring to Gummowned as the go-to guy etc.), he seems to be someone that actually cares about and enjoys his work, and what he does. I wouldn’t be spending, what my friends still think is a crazy amount, if I didn’t have faith. Your endorsement of him only adds to my resolve :).
Once again, an astute point. The reason was, I was (as stated in my first post) prematurely enamored with purplearms’ Project Gouken. I thought to myself: “oh how cool!” (inner 5 year old child’s voice). Now the reaction was specifically about the clear bottom, not necessarily the intensely customized stick itself. Since while I can respect the amount of work and artistry that went into that stick, it is too busy for me since I prefer a simpler look. I wanted to get the high level of functionality via internal mods, while having a relatively sleeper/default TE stick look. Only once you enabled the LEDs or flipped the stick over to admire the inner work (via clear bottom), would you know it wasn’t a default TE stick. At least that was my original plan. It has since changed when my dreams were shattered when I read that two days ago. Followed by verifying what the bottom internal looks like in . I just didn’t know :(. But I have a new direction I’m going now, and as long as Gummowned okays my plan, I’ll get started.
Side note: does anyone know how to multi-quote easily? Still learning the way it works, and I had to copy the ID of each individual post and assign it the quote code. If anyone knows how to click on multiple posts and do a multi-quote feel free to let me know :).
Thank you.
You can still put art on the Bottom Metal Plate.
Then sandwich with an Acrylic Panel.
But I guess you want the whole bottom to be clear.
So that the insides can be seen.
But now know inside is ugly.
Next to the ‘Reply With Quote’ is this;

.
Click on that of every Post you want for Multi-Quote.
And for the last Quote that you include, click on ‘Reply With Quote’ button.
Actually that is part of the plan now jdm714. I am going to use a top replacement acrylic panel, and also use a bottom acrylic, but forgo the art work, and just get a simple engraving on the bottom. As in, one of the colored bottom acrylics, or perhaps just sandwich a simple white or black plain piece of paper between the metal panel and the acrylic. I haven’t decided on that part since I heard if you use a colored acrylic bottom panel, the engraving will be on the outside and not the inside. Which might be uncomfortable if you’re playing with the joystick in your lap.
And indeed, the inside view from the bottom is ugly :(. Glad I saw that post I linked, but if I hadn’t I would have seen your post too. So either way, thank you for helping once again :). I just need to find time to go over to a friend’s house to use photoshop, and learn how to use it now…hopefully that doesn’t take too long.
Thank you for the tip on the multi-quote. I did try mousing over that yesterday, but it didn’t seem to do anything. Perhaps it was my browser. But good to know :).
Regards,
jdm and caecus are like total opposites. Caecus full of inquisitive questions of length and jdm full of short, quick, and precise answers.
I don’t mean any thing negative about that. I just find it oddly fascinating.
Wait until you read my convoluted PM ha ha. Yes I should work on my word economy :). Looking forward to hearing from you.
Regards,
Hey Caecus, I was only joshing you.
Cactus.
No worries

My MK AIAB cuts off the sound when plugged into Mame. their was a head phone jack. Do you think its needs a new pcb? or just a wire snipped?
also, how much to replace pcb if i say, brought my own, but its the retro atari 360 “stick”?
and how much to tighten the stick on it? (its a Happ comp)
I don’t see how plugging it in would cut off the sound.
It would be $50 to replace the pcb.
What do you mean by tightening the stick? Aren’t Happ sticks already super tight?
mine is a lil loose, so i dont know if it can be tightened or just replaced. will you have any new IL bats with you?
