While I’m glad this is coming over, I think I’m going to have to skip it unless it costs $15. I already own AC and am not that interested in the story mode to buy the game over again. Plus, by the time this drops, I’ll be hip deep in SFIV and SFHD, so my enthusiasm for GG will be very low.
However, I’ll pick up a copy for my friend, who has somehow thus far managed to not buy a single GG game and he’s really glad this is coming over here, as he wanted to play AC but he also wants the story mode (in english, natch). So you can count on sale +1 here.
umm… i know this question has nothin to do with this thread but if they can make GG for da psp then why dont they make Arcana Heart for da psp? just throwin this question out ther.
To clarify for ya, it’s less dislike and more not caring.
The Wii thing is a good call. I guess we don’t know yet that the Wii version has no online play. I don’t want to get my hopes up though, since I’m pretty sure they’d’ve trumpeted that from the rooftops if it was in.
I disagree with that line of reasoning, because I think it would sell well as a download game with online play.
You’re right though, it’s nice of Aksys to give it a release for those who care. I hope for their sake that they at least break even on it.
Shiki you’re awesome. :lovin:
edit: Stupid question! Do the American and Japanese versions of GG have different soundtracks? Can you switch to the Japanese music on an American version?
I highly doubt the Wii version the game will have online play. Very wishful thinking if you ask me… AC didn’t have it, why should AC+ be different, especially seeing as how it’s coming out for PS2 with no netplay as well?
And I totally agree that it would sell like crazy were it an XBLA / PSN game with online, but I don’t think it would fit the size limitations of those services. Yes, they’ve been pumping up the limits for quite a while, but GGX2 is still a pretty massive game. And it doesn’t warrant a disc release on either system because it’s already rather “dated.” Add to that the effort it would take to include online play… I think Aksys would rather make a quick buck by translating the stories and pushing the game over to America as a port rather than a fully-featured title.
PSN has no size limitations. That’s how they’re able to have full games with disc releases like Burnout Paradise on the store. Not to mention if you download the complete episode pack for Siren: Blood Curse it’s around 10GB.
I wasn’t referring to ban them in that post but more so would it be better that they’ve added them. But yeah I see what you mean. Console characters = No show. Then again isn’t the Guilty Gear console scene bigger then the arcade scene in the US?
And folks, just because we’re put this bad boy out, don’t mean we ain’t trying to come up with more crap for the community. We even contemplated about doing something ala HD Remix style for GG but we’re not sure how big of a community there is for such a huge overhaul on a old ass title. Maybe you guys can shed some light on this subject for us at Aksys…
AC+ was intended to be Japan’s bugfix, as their initial console version was buggy. The gameplay changes made were supposed to make it closer to the arcade version.
