I heard Sol is one of the worst in AC+R. What changed for him?
IIRC worst things he got was stagger(bad imo) on normal Fafnir but you can combo into normal and FB versions(+). FB version causes ground slide instead of wall bounce. You can follow up either Fafnir with Tyrant Rave(+?) Dunno how people feel about groundslide but it never seemed good to me aside from sending people into the corner. He also lost the FRC point on Fafnir(-). He has his dustloop back and Bandit Bringer once again ground bounces(+) and has a clean hit property added(+). Lost stagger on 6HS as well. He also gained Force Break Sidewinder which grants a clean hit no matter what(+).
But I don’t think he’s ranked lower because he’s worse. I think it’s because people got better. He was solid in AC so if in +R the people that could give him trouble got stronger, naturally he would seem lower. Plus you got Kliff to contend with now. So let’s say in the end he ranked one of the worse characters in +R, he would be one of the best “worst” characters I’ve ever seen. Low tiers everywhere would be jealous.
Cant be nearly as bad as trying to play him in lag.

I figured out when playing online, just mash 6H if there’s a lot of lag… People just run into it all day.

Venom… holy fuck.
There’s been an influx of Venom users in recent times. I remember NO ONE used Venom. Maybe because he was too complex to learn with all the ball set ups?Now I see a lot of Venom users be it in Japanese matches or online.

Actually, it’s probably because more people play the game on higher levels so he’s not as complicated as he was once. The same can be said for any fighting game - There was a time when almost nobody used Urien and Yun in 3S because of his intricacy, or Ironman in MvC2. Now that the game’s open, they’re less complex.

I’ve been meaning to get out to some of the nights that Miln and some of the others at Dustloop talk about, but my schedule is pretty last minute (I’m a musician so if someone calls me for a gig, I generally have to take it, rent and all.) But I’d love to finally make it to one of those. Hopefully in January I’ll be able to make it out. Do you go to the Friday night things at Kaos Theory in M’boro?
I learnt Venom because of the Slayer vs Pot matchup. And I only had the CPU to play against back on PS2 though but I hated Slayer vs CPU Pot ;_;

Venom Pot matches are so cake walk unless it’s against a good Pot or a laggy match and I can’t make my formations… Pot can’t do shit.
Does that mean he’s not playing seriously or he quit?
Just keep playing your character. I never set aside Baiken because of her changes. Then again, her changes made her progressively better. Eddie always needed to be toned down in some way or another.
Baiken/Pot is no cake walk. I have to turtle like crazy and know when to press. I can’t get too close otherwise I risk being pot busted. Takes off crazy damage. I have to work twice as hard to do damage that he only needs a couple moves to do the same amount.
I don’t really know, our best way to know is ask Elven Shadow since iirc he plays against him quite regularly.
