I fucking love this game too much to care about being perfected. It feels good just to play against someone.
edit: Also, I taught the player to block high. I literally killed him by doing Slayers 5K>6K>5K>6K>etc until he died. Got hit every time except the last few.
Man, I like the simpler days, when I didn’t realize that for I-No to be killer I needed to learn the one frame FRC after S Chemical Love with a buffered dash. I managed that like, 4 times in a row in Training before I realized that I wasn’t getting an achievement nor were a choir of angels going to come down from the heavens to tell me how attractive I am.
Just had like, an hour sessions against a really good player (at least good compared to shitty I still am) how was FRCing and whatnot all over the place. I got MAYBE two matches and it took 45 minutes to get that many. I wasn’t double perfected but I still felt like I was just tossed around by someone who actually knows what their doing. It gives me more (not that I didn’t already have a lot) motivation to get better but man, it’s been a good while since I had my ass handed to me in a game that wasn’t Skullgirls. I must learn to FRC gun flame and other moves so I can look all fancy too. Then maybe a random poster will tell me that I matter:oops:
“False” or “Forced” Roman Cancel. It’s only available on certain moves with each character and it’s timing specific, but they let you cancel out of the recovery for 25 meter instead of 50. In training mode, if you have inputs visible, the input bar will flash white (Thanks 4r5 for the correction) [S]blue[/S], indicating the correct time, which is usually between 1-3 frames. With a lot of characters, it’s really important to know for max damage combos/punishes.
FRC are like Tekken Just-Frames, only certain moves and only specific frames. Which is different from RC which can be done on any move that makes physical contact and can be done anytime after contact.
In training mode, you can turn on input display and when the input bar flashes WHITE, that is the timing of the FRC. The blue flash occurs after the FRC timing and is there to help you find the white flash.
N-Otoko, Nanashi, HEVEN, and anyone else Japanese.
Venom is a pretty hard character to master. Its someone I wanted to use but just takes a lot of effort to understand how all his ball formations and how to create the ball collisions you want.
I think I’ll be picking this game up today…I use to play reload Slayer but not seriously. Going to probably go with Dizzy but her ice spike FRC is going to be a pain to master, especially online. If it doesn’t work out, I might go with ABA.
It’s really weird playing this game with a stick after playing on Dualshock and PSP for so long. Still trying to figure out what the best setup for the buttons is. The arcade-style setup feels weird to me having the Dust button down below the HS button like that. Feels to out of the way. But it’s nice to be able to finally play GG on my HRAP3SA!
