Guilty Gear XX Accent Core PLUS R: New update for GGXX! coming to Arcade, PSN, XBLA and now Vita!

Slayer CHanges are hype. Im interested in figuring out all this sweet shit again. GGXX:AC R for The RETURN lets go!

I did a quick search so I could see who you’re talking about, and I found… an English blog post from 2007 where the author used a tiny arcade photo of Arisaka as the lynchpin in an explanation of how to make sure you look cool when you’re posing for pictures. Yessss!

Hahahaha. SO sick. SO sweet. I want this guy to be my body language coach like right now.

Do people get an alert notice from Xanga when someone views their blog or something??? Public viewing of the blog was blocked just a few hours after I discovered it, even though it looks like it hasn’t been updated in a long time. It’s almost like he didn’t want anyone else to see it? I can’t imagine why anyone would feel shy about some huge, glittering rainbow man-crush they wrote about on the internet five years ago. Oh, the author refers to himself as “El Sex Cowboy,” by the way.

Anyway, you can still [view the whole post through Google’s cache](‘http://webcache.googleusercontent.com/search?q=cache:XXfsv_NIPJMJ:red-beard.xanga.com/ red-beard.xanga.com&cd=1&hl=en&ct=clnk&gl=ca&client=firefox-a’).

With the changes to slashback, only one question remains.
Will you still be able to slashback Heat Knuckle?

If there is anything in video games that made me mad its baiken’s blockstun attacks.
Now i’m older and I can deal with it, but the painful memories man.

Yo, I’m thinking about getting this game, but I’ve only played the wii version of Guilty Gear a handful of times before I got bored (before I knew there was a FGC). I used… some kung-fu waitress with glowing fist attacks that I couldn’t figure out how to make work when I wasn’t mashing.

Anyway, I’d really like to get into this game, but I’ve played BlazBlue. From playing that game online, I know I need two things: 1) some sort of useful beginner’s guide that will teach me what the hell is happening and what to do, and 2) a place to go to to find out how to not get raped by some ridiculous tactics that I don’t know how to even begin to deal with (I played two matches of BlazBlue, against Tager and Litchi, before I quit the game for good (I’m going to try to learn it again, though)).

Can anyone here direct me somewhere helpful?

If you want to improve at BlazBlue and Guilty Gear, your one-stop-shop for information is Dustloop Forums. They’ve got all the information you’ll ever need to learn how to play BlazBlue and Guilty Gear, from beginner strategy to more advanced tactics and match-up knowledge. Have at it man.

Is it… condensed? I know sometimes, when I’m looking for info, I have to sift through, like, 100 pages to find what I want.

The information is fairly condensed. It used to be you had to sift through a lot of pages in the forums to find your information, but the Dustloop community has been hard at work compiling the information found on the forums in the Dustloop Wiki. Both Guilty Gear and BlazBlue now have pretty comprehensive Wiki pages for every character. Almost all the characters have their complete movelist broken down including things like pictures of the moves, properties, frame data, etc. and almost every character has some basic strategy and combos on that Wiki page. I personally think it’s pretty condensed, but mileage varies. Go check it out and see for yourself; it’s really the best and only way to know.

Thank you, your assistance is much appreciated.

LMAO @ people telling others to go to Dustloop.
That forum is a haven for those with aspergers. Asking any kind of advice there, might as well be shooting yourself in the foot.

Also, silent buttons got me sold.
I’m in there!!

Well…where else to go?
It’s not like there’s a sub-forum for Guilty Gear here in the Shoryuken forums…

The Guilty Gear section is still fine. The blazblue forums… well, there are some threads where at least the first few posts are worth reading

Yeah, I hear there’s a wide range of character experts here on SRK for GGAC, who will answer any of your questions in the GGAC subforum we have, and when not answering questions talk about solid shows like My Little Pony.

If the OGs come back, then go ahead.
Because right now, if we get those GGR forums going the way they’re running the BlazBlue section, fuck that!!!

Let’s get something straight when it comes to Dustloop forums’ creditibility-
It always was user dependent. Some character forums and discussions had knowledgeable players posting solid info, and some had a bunch of horse crap theory fighters.
The only solution is to know the players beforehand to know who you can trust and who you can’t.

Remember the days of just hitting training mode to learn/discover/create things? Advice from others is great, but it too often feels like we forget how to think for ourselves, rushing straight to combo vids and character guides on the internet. I’m as guilty as the next, I suppose, but meh. /shrug

Gimme dem silent Sanwas and this game already!

Well I think he just need a briefing on the systems in the game. There’s 2 videos made fairly recently in YouTube that do this, I don’t have the link since I’m on my phone but its a good place to start and I’m sure someone knows what I’m talking about.

I guess that’s how some people are. Personally, I was never any good at finding things out on my own, but when I got the knowledge I became pretty goddamn good at games I picked up knowledge for.

I feel like discovering things for oneself at a game is a very important skill that I should try to pick up.

To be fair, the Guilty Gear system is a bit more complicated in its combo system with the wallsticks, slides, gravity, or proration properties than some other fighters. It’s a bit harder to just understand the system from the get go compared to a combo system like SFIV which only really has juggle limits as a kind of obscure ‘you just have to know’ type thing. It takes some effort, but it’s still definitely possible to create your own BnBs with characters like Sol and Ky. It becomes much harder when you start going into characters like Millia who has like a different BnB combo for every character in the cast, or May when you’re forced to learn to charge buffer like never before. I certainly wouldn’t have thought 6HS into SVD was possible without a guide telling me it was possible.
