I’m seeing an ongoing theme with this character redesigns: words. Seems like every dude has some kinda phrase in random places on their outfits.
But in all seriousness, cool. Can’t wait to see these dudes in action.

I hope somebody has the words “Don’t Give Up!” plastered all over their costume for the ultimate self motivation. Maybe Eddie or Zappa.

that’s always been a thing with ishiwatari’s art. its just he couldn’t use those details on the old sprites but if you look up the old concept art for GG characters, they got words everywhere.
not only that, if you look at his art of the BB characters, they got words all over the place too.
I suppose so, I guess the words just “stick out” more in Xrd? Lol I dunno.
Some of these redesigns are more drastic than I expected, will take a bit to get used to.
I hope Faust keeps the paperbag in his redesign.
He’s definitely gone in the direction of words everywhere instead of mostly limiting it to ‘main’ characters like he had previously. Luckily most of them are basically descriptors about the characters personality or the world setting so it works for me. And Millia’s Zato-1 VA shoutout was ridiculously cool imo.
So with Nazi Pot, “Real Soviet Damage” has now been replaced with “DAMAGE ZAT VILL LAST FOR EIN ZOUZAND YEARS.”
Also, in the new Zepp Reich, “players who are caught colluding vill be taken to ze side of ze road und shot in ze back of ze head.”

Are the new character’s artwork done with the in game models? They look a little different from the Ky, Sol and Millia artwork. Chipp and Pot look especially… I dunno, off? Not in a bad way, just a little curious.
They’re 3D models but some have parts that have been painted over, most notably May’s face, see that image for the actual 3D look:
This game is looking substantially less metal, and way more Anime.
Did you SEE Potemkin?He is, both literally and figuratively, 300% more metal!
The new Potemkin looks too much like the guard armor in Kingdom Hearts for me to really feel metal.
Then again May never really felt metal for example. I mean, we all know Mr. Dolphin is hardcore but still…
At least for Potemkin, it’s the name of his song. Millia’s also seems to say “Still in the Dark” which is the old Millia vs Zato-1 theme.
Potemkin reminds me of a character design you would see in Megaman Battle Network. I like it, just not sure if I like it for Guilty.
I’m not passing judgement until I see them in action. Potemkin looks alright. Just bummed they added a helmet. Won’t see that BASED 6P grin anymore 
Edit: GG is still metal as fuck. If Heavy Day is anything to go by. the OST is going to be nuts. But PLEASE add Slayer holy fuck, His theme was too godlike

Potemkin is apparently no longer a slave of Zepp. Apparently that’s what the appearance change is about. I’m not fond of the new artwork. It reminds me of Isuka’s artwork(drawn) but with the excessive vibrant state of the Accent Core artwork(color).
