The aiming mechanic does sound very interesting. Visually she is very disappointing though, GG is usually outstanding and very original in this department.

I didn’t know taking tropes and mashing them up is original. Y’all putting GG character designs on a pedastal.

So far she has a rifle and a shotgun from what I’ve heard. I would expect a long-mid range space control character. I’m interested in seeing what a match of El vs Axl looks like.

I wonder how the aiming mechanic will work. I’m guessing that it will be changing the trajectory of a super or special where you can “aim” the attack in a 45 degree angle up/down or straight. I don’t see them putting an aim-able crosshair on the screen shmup style and expect you to combo like that.

Their releasing info about DLC already?!? There goes my hope of possibly seeing Baiken in this game at launch then. The hype is slowly fading with me guys :frowning:

And before you even say it. I REFUSE to pay money to play as a og character if they did decide to go in that direction. No way in hell that is going to happen.

Then just play someone else and return to Baiken when she finally makes the cut. I had no issue with the chance of not having a character I play as returning, so while both of the ones I wanted returned, I can’t sympathize with the notion of losing hype over the game just because of that fact.

Refusing to buy DLC of a character that was in older games…makes no sense. It’s a character made, probably, after the main games development was finished, but just because they were in an older game you wouldn’t want to purchase them? They wouldn’t be selling a character they removed just for the resale. It’d be a scratch made character that required a lot of effort to be put into the game.

Apparently you haven’t been paying attention then because they already announced that the console release was only going to get a couple characters at best out the gate.

I read that ASW wants us to feel like we’re playing an FPS when we play her. Now I don’t mind the design at all. I just want to see how this will work.

While that’s probably an exaggeration on their part, there can probably be a cinematic super were it goes first person. Beyond that, I guess they’re just going to refer to…using a gun and having to reload it? TGS is in 2.5 weeks, so we’ll see then.

edit: For those that care, Ruu and Kedako hand transcribed frame data for every character. It’s in moon rune though.

Some forums on dustloop have either posted the raw JP text, or translated it in some form. If you’re interested in that. Some things are apparently wrong, but overall, it’s not bad.

I guess the FPS-like thing may be a reticle you can manipulate somewhat independently from the character, puppet character-style.

She looks so much like Aria. Hamon Champagne, Wedding Cake attacks, Guns n’ Roses, rifles, and shotguns. Potential grown woman damage.

Now to wait for translation about her Reload Action, since in one image she glows with her shotgun.

Very partial translation on somethingawful confirms the shooting mechanic is in fact being able to move a reticle around when she’s got her shotgun out.
