To think I was bummed about not getting Killer Instinct lololololol

Slayer resources are pretty ass on the internet. You can find his basics on Dustloop and maybe some meagre info on the Wiki (Which isn’t filled out properly for Slayer).

But what I can say is just watch match videos and shit. It’s how I started, I managed to win 4 local GG tournaments not even knowing if my sweep was 2D or 2H.

Yeah my first time playing ever this guy was spamming jam specials and ok combos–before I knew any of my moves whatsoever. After I told him to knock it off he started playing different characters, after a couple matches he couldn’t win. He went back to jam and still couldn’t win.

He had to hard counter me with bridget (I still didn’t know most of my specials). He had to hard counter someone who literally never played a guilty before. :rofl:

Yeah I’ll keep an eye on match videos to learn some cool things, I did pickup his dash cancel shennanigans so there’s that to practice dash mapps/dandies too easy though. I’ll be back once I’ve mastered the bdc sj iad footloose. With the colloquial term of ā€œmagic carpet rideā€ it has to be fun right?

It’s a gimmick lol. And the BDC invincible frames wear off before he really gets anywwhere, and that’s assuming you did it perfectly. Which you won’t have. It’s pretty much meant to be used as something to dodge a quick move, then get the fuck away.

Is anyone else having dreams about this game or is it just me?

My hype is a bit tamed at the moment. I’m waiting on Hori to announce their next gen fightsticks. Once that happens, then yeah!

Does Slayer still have his BDC invincibility tricks?

Can May still do loops in Xrd? I think she lost them in +R, did she get them back?

I really hope they just release new versions of their existing sticks, like a HRAP.V4 or a HRAP.N4/HRAP.S4 so they can keep their costs down unlike MadCatz or Razer who had to pay for new die and tooling, hence the raised prices.

My has #reload style dolphin loops. Not as long though, since you only have at most 2 rc’s, instead of 4 frc’s.

What are the restrictions on instant kills in Xrd? I assume there has to be some, because as much as I would like to combo into instant kill of a throw every time I have 50% meter as May, that’s way too good to be true. From Slayer’s life, I’m guessing they already have to be at below x% health?

Opponent has to be in Hellfire mode. So like less than 20% HP, with their remaining life flashing.
The player who wants to IK also needs at least 50% tension to get the freeze on activation. So if you are going to do a super or RC and then IK activate, you would need 100%.
I don’t know if it has to be on the last round to win though. If not, maybe this is the answer to how much HP actually is in that last quarter of their HP.

Yes. Except it doesn’t have to be last round.

That sounds sweet. Already I am stashing my pennies.

If you don’t walk up to the store and pay for a copy of this game with a bag of pennies, I will infract you.

That will be very difficult as:

  1. There are laws about using too many pennies in a purchase
  2. Canada is phasing the penny out

I’m just not looking forward to p$4 and a new stick.
