I don’t even care… played it yesterday, played it today, play it tomorrow. That said, some of the cabs this game is running in are beat to hell (Kariya, Nagoya, my bro says something similar in Osaka too). Some serious recycling going on here.

Meanwhile, trying my best with bedman, can’t say I even understand… interesting but I haven’t got it.

Can someone please link me to some actual I-No gameplay? I’ve gone through quite a few videos and I still haven’t found anyone playing her. Can’t find jack, man.

Been watching vids. Only character that seems to be doing great damage currently is Slayer with pile bunker loops in the corner. That shit hurts. Seems like individual hits deal a lot in this game, but the proration is ridiculous. Also I’ve seen some people do some combo’s by YRC’ing throws, but the proration on them has literally made the additional damage hardly noticeable even when they are high in life (assuming low guts).

Also that guts at the end of the bar is ridiculous. 20% life and 2 pot busters don’t kill Millia ? That’s a bit, wtf. Also extend on his gauntlet barely seems to graze their healthbar. Doesn’t seem like YRC’ing pot buster does much for damage at this stage either, but maybe better followups will be found.

The high meter gain will probably be used for confirms then high damage because of the proration. Seems like you can move earlier then your opponent during that YRC so I’ve seen people do stuff like f. Slash run forward into a full combo where they couldn’t hit their launcher without the YRC.

I didn’t know they nerfed Eddie’s summons … like I haven’t seen anyone do his K summon and his one that used to consume half the screen now is purely vertical. If both those moves are gone … I’m worried about him, like those were probably the 2 most important moves in his entire gameplan.

Seems interesting overall but few things seem odd … makes me wonder how it will develop. Guess gotta wait and see.

His K summon (sawblade) is still in the game. Saw the CPU do it a couple times in story mode.

Most of the damage dynamics look about standard for Guilty Gear. Lots of frontload from single hits and then it tapers off rapidly. Makes sense, given that the game is less about getting damage from LONG BlazBlue-style combos than it is getting short-but-sweet combos that frequently end with a favorable condition such as knockdown or an advantageous air-tech situation where the opponent has to chill if they don’t want to get anti-aired into a fresh combo.

The basic rules of Gear appear to be in place in Xrd. Now to just give people a few weeks to figure things out in the lab.

As for pilebunker loops, bear in mind that they’re also EXPENSIVE as hell (100% for two RCs). Slayer also takes a bit more time to build meter than other characters given that he can’t safely chain lots of moves for a blockstring, he kinda has to poke minimally, Street Fighter style in a lot of situations if he values his lifebar.

Lots of characters so far are getting good damage both midscreen and corner for 50% or even less (lol Axl, if he gets an anti-air counter hit into air combo into Axl Bomber, say goodbye to like 40% life before guts…). Way too early to make a call about who’s king of damage in this game because people are just beginning to optimize. Even the old hands like FAB and Nemo have new shit to figure out with their characters.

I thought this would be the GG game I main Zato and play him with efficiency, but Arc put a black women in the game and they even made her the final boss. Damn you, Daisuke Ishiwatari >_>

don’t worry theres nothing remotely black about valentine since skin pigment does not make a character automatically black, as crazy as that sounds. so u can still use zato

also whats with the new people who always complain that match videos arent in hd. since when does video quality matter when watching match videos. that makes no sense to me. people on every forum are doing this for some reason

aside from helter skelter, slayer looks so gimped. i dont care if pilebunker loops do 40%. blargh. i just hope that helter skelter doesnt become a gimmick that gets owned by air throw on reaction every time or something. maybe the option of not jcing it will offer enough options for it be useful for the longterm.

It apparently forces crouching on hit, and you can do j.H>j.D>land>5K>Mappa after it. Probably others with a more optimized route going on, at least from someone on dustloop. There is definitely stuff to be desired from AC that he could really use. According to someone, 2H launches on normal hit again, but I’ve not seen anyone actually connect with it.

edit: 2H launches on normal hit confirmed. But we don’t have BBU to connect from max distance anymore. Still nice.

Stuff. Good to hear about Eddie’s K summon, was confused after I saw they changed his S one and no one was using K. S one always pissed me off … hitbox is retarded huge and on counter-hit can lead to a death combo before +R … derp.

We need optimized combo’s so I’m waiting on damage. It might be the new guts but it is really weird to see people at 10-20% life take a full combo or 2 and live. Till combo’s get better characters like Faust are going to dominate as he doesn’t really have combo’s and his single hits hurt and his gameplan is identical to previous games. Only new thing I’ve seen from Faust is some sweet tech using the black hole. It gives him some loops that deal pretty good damage.

Want me some of that millia and venom.

Not to mention that the developers will be hated on if they make expansions to try to break even. They have to lose money on vanilla, then scrap the engine and start over. Let’s drive any good games out of existence and then complain about bad ones being successful.

On another note: I am kind of worried about how similar the game is to previous versions. It seems like the next version rather that a complete reboot. This is perfect for experienced players, but it might only expand the player base a little bit. I am not saying x factor should be in the game or anything, but I can see 99% of League of Legends players checking out a video, pissing their pants in fear, and then saying the game sucks to save face.
