Honestly I hope SF 5 doesn’t come out for another 3 or 4 years. And if they make one i hope its set after the events of 3rd strike. And Ono should do the PR again. That shit was hilarious.
Back on topic. I hope they don’t nerf the cast. like leave the staple characters out as some sort of business tactic. And if the do have a crossover character I vote for the boxing exhibitionist squerill babe.
I want a dub but won’t be devastated if there’s none. But I want one.
Hope it uses the typical GG button layout, but hoping the taunt button needs to be used with other buttons for various taunts because I want pretty taunts and fuck if this sentence is still going.
Sin? He’s probably a shoe-in.
Hoping Zappa’s embraced his dark side.
I see the hipster gamer talk about how this game is colorful and not many modern games are. Shut the fuck up with that shit, seriously.
I’m really interested in seeing how this game will handle some of the more interesting aspects of the 2D games, such as Dizzy’s transformations and morphs. If they can accomplish that in this new engine with little to no sacrifices…
I was wondering about that too, I remember when MvC3 was coming out they said having characters who morphed and changed alot in their moves put a strain on the game or something thanks to the 3d models. Although it also might’ve been because Marvel 3 had to worry about loading 6 characters at once, along with the backgrounds and stuff… maybe it won’t be as much of a problem for Xrd. I dunno, I don’t know much about computer programming lol.
Ooh, me too. I’m sure there will be one, though. Arcsys has been doing dubs for a while now. I kinda want somebody like Troy Baker for Sol. I know, I know, Troy Baker is in everything these days and whatever, but I think he’d nail Sol, especially if he uses his Jake Muller style, ‘devil may care’ delivery.
overture is a strange experiment. people compare it to Dynasty Warriors when its more like a MOBA.
that said, its OK. its interesting and story does have some crazy info and background overload but it ends up just confusing unless you know a lot about the GG universe already.
Funny you should mention that. Troy plays Sol in GG2.
It’s basically because of the RAM. Morphing takes up a lot of RAM, regardless. So the situation was compounded on in MvC3’s case, thanks to the expectation to have 6 characters in memory that were to be accessible at any time. It really didn’t leave much room for anything else.
As much as I personally don’t care for SF4, I can certainly respect the work that was done with the likes of Dhalsim’s model in that series. It’s the main thing that gives me hope that ASW will use their own tech to make for some impressive displays in their own right. The sooner they’re ready to show off the likes of Eddie, Dizzy, Testament and Zappa, the better, I say.
is this game confirmed to be using 3d models and not 2d sprites? to me the 3D cut ins just look like bits of CG or whatever they added into the trailer to make it look more of a spectacle. the actual fighting part sure doesnt look 3d to me. can be hard to tell from just one trailer though.
Ok, before anything I want to say that the game looks and sounds amazing. I really like the fake 2D look that totally looks like real 2D animation. Insane technical prowess there. I only have one little problem with it all, so far, which is the same as most people: Sol’s character model looks bloated. Really. And puffy.
So i took the liberty of messing around with it a bit.
i think it looks a bit more sleek like old Sol. Less new-age “SF4” Big Brawny shoulders. Messed with his puffy hair (both at the top and pony tail), super wide shoulders + super thick arms and legs and baggy pants. I was careful not to change anything on his clothing (except for those huge things on his chest that were popping out on some looney tunes shit), since they’re changing his design a bit from the older one.
